  • Thanks, now I'm certain I'm not buying it a seems pretty hard to write with the stylus

  • What a joke. And even with the new one with palm rejection, you still get stray marks. And you can't write very small and precise. I'll take my Tablet PC over this any day.

  • Ilusion optical FAce in the hand, and other hand is normal 0:15

  • You could also sketch in the app I bought at majorspot[dot]com and it is called the Ghostwriter Notes. Same capabilities but this app is more user-friendly.

  • U could just put a clothe under ur wrist when useing the stylus

  • why cant you put your hand on the glass when you write with the stylus?

  • You Should Check Out "Bamboo Paper". Has Got All The Things Penultimate Doesnt :)

  • You guys are all idiotic assholes. IF YOU WANT TO WRITE, BUY A FUCKING STYLUS!!!!

  • @JJBerthume Crude, but you get the point across.

  • They added wrist protection, which is nice

  • The problem I have with this sort of app, is that a finger is way too chubby to write legibly and small enough for this app to be effective. For now, I will have to stick to 'Notes' for typed notes and a pen and paper for diagrams.

  • Nice review. If nothing else, the advent of youtube has made clear that most people's voices (including my own) are *not* conducive to narration. I've been going though a number of product reviews tonight and yours is the first that I enjoyed as opposed to endured. Bravo, keep it up!

  • Great review! oh, and for those below who are still looking for an iPad for FREE, simply visit: freegiveawaysonline.info

My 18 years old son just got one from there

  • any idea how to extract notes from your ipad to your computer and then back onto your ipad?

  • Try Note Taker HD - it is awesome!

  • Penultimate now has more colours and has a wrist rest btw

  • or what you could do to solve your problem of making your hand get tired writing is go to the options menue and select the option which allows you to rest your hand on the ipad without it recognising it and picking it up, so it would be the same as resting it on a bit of paper. handy function, worth mentioning in a review unless thats a recent update thats occured since this review

  • This app has wrist protection, different colors and three line sizes.

  • @kperry1969 whats wrist protection?

  • @zakipad Wrist protection is essentially a feature that eliminates any marks/lines on the screen that could be inadvertently caused by one's wrist when writing on it. Even if you consciously try to keep your wrist raised above the ipad, it isn't that easy to do ALL the time. Hope that helps.

  • I've heard that they implemented some sort of "wrist guard" in an update. Now they just need smaller lines.

  • When are you releasing the Ipod Touch version? (Please?)

  • @egarinpu I know you wrote that 5 months ago, but for the ipod / iphone they have fastfinga which may work for you

  • I have a question, do you think this would work really well with classes like microbiology and organic? i am looking to take notes though a tablet. Believe it or not, this is really cheap for a tablet considering the other ones in the market are expensive

  • you think there will ever be a way to actually write on the ipad while wresting your hand on the device. This is, to me, is the biggest drawback with note apps on the ipad. Just wanted to know your thoughts. Great Review btw, thanks!

  • I hope they realize penultimate means next to last. So it's like they are saying it's the next to worst sketching app.

  • Umm,it's great,but I like Wondershare iDraft a little more

  • Nice review, thanks bud

  • Has anyone tried using a Wacom pen on the iPad?

  • @sschiffbauer tried wacon pen - doesn't work, pity

  • The recent update to this app has wrist protection so you can rest your wrists on the ipad without it writing anything on it.

  • You can pull a Michael Jackson and wear a glove to rest your wrist I think.

  • so it does the same thing as adobe ideas, but doesn't zoom, have variable line sizes, or multiple colors, and cost $2.99 more.

  • Could you also do a review of PaperDesk and compare features of both apps?

  • Nice review! This looks like a great tablet solution for students math/science classes where figures/graphs/etc. can be integrated into the note taking! This app is EXACTLY what I'd want if I got an iPad (for school purposes, of course).

  • thats a neat app!

  • @undeadnow I don't think I said anything about kids. ???

  • NIce app, thanks for reviewing this. You're right about it needing a zoom.

  • Where'd you get the capacitive stylus?!? I've been looking for one everywhere!!!

  • Excellent review Mike! I'm out looking for a good precise stylus with like a pointy tip similar to a pen. Figured it may be hard to find particularly for these Apple devices. The Radtech Styloid is a rounded tip right?

  • great review but you didn't mention the cost of the app

  • @biglan25 It's in the description and lower-third title. I usually avoid saying app prices since they change all the time. It's currently $2.99.

  • @biglan25 yes he did... its 2.99

  • Thanks dude :D Really wanted this reviewed :)

  • Thanks for reviewing this.

  • Wait, Couldn't you just get a stand for the problem of holding and writing?

  • @applebear224 maybe. writing more vertically might get tiring too. I wouldn't want to do it with the iPad Dock, for example. Thx
