  • Do you have to make multiple passes or is one all right?

  • Superb advice. Just got myself a merkur 38C so thanks for the tips

  • Fantastic video.

  • Great video man. I've just bought my first DE razor and can't wait to start using it!

  • @Treylogan218BR this is not for someone who works at Staples, 95% of us don't need this shave more than twice a year. There are jobs that require a $5000 suit and a professional shave like this. There are situations where every detail counts, including your watch, car, or shoes. No Casio, no Clarks and no electric shave :)

  • You know, when I have an occassion I do give myself a nice shave with a straight razor, but for in the mornings it is always my Merkur 38C double edged.

Last time I used a straight razor drunk with sleep when getting ready for work, I got in late and with 21 stitches. Not recommended.

    -

DE for in the mornings people, you'll thank me.

  • @JustineBieberxoxo yikes.

I usually spend about 5 minutes in the morning doing a 2 pass shave with a straight. I go the other way, I don't trust the DEs.

I have gotten cut in the morning with the straight, though, and it was from stropping while tired. losing grip of the razor and having it flop around as I try to get out of the way.

But the face, better before the coffee - after 2 quick cups, the hand has a little caffeine shake...bad!

  • Im seriously thinking of switching from a cartridge razor to a safety razor Im sick of razor burn and razor bumps. Great videos.

  • How often should you change the blade in a safety razor?

  • First attempt (5 mins ago) didn't go so well I used a regular gillette cream and it just seemed like it wasnt slippery enough at all. knicked my nose and used too much of an angle a couple times, but overall not too bad i think with time it will become easy

  • lol first. i need to grow a beard. haha tips?

  • I decided to change for a safety razor after seeing this video. I said to myself 'Damn, this guy know how to shave like a boss''

  • outstanding! thanks...just ordered my first DE!!

  • Also 1 more question, after shaving i apply a aftershave balsam, it doesnt burn anywhere except for the cheeks, it never used to do that with the multiple blade razors so that makes me wonder whether im tearing up the cheeks too much or is it the wrong ingredient to use after a shave but how can it be if nothing else burns xcept for cheeks

    Thank you in advance

  • Purchased my merkur 34c, for the 4th time im shaving with it, was a terrible shave, prepped up with exfoliating the face b4 shaving, applying a hot flannel for approx 2mins and shaving. First ATG pulled like hell on the cheeks n the neck, then XTG 2x was abit better but still tiny feel of pulling rather than slicing(thats what u expect from such sharp blade), perhaps its a matter of getting used to the technique, but should it tugg like that really? Merkur 34, badger brush & taylor of old bond..

  • Awesome vid, you make shaving an art form! I'm trying out a straight but am having a hard time getting a good shave with it... Lol, though I'm not cutting myself anymore! Might have to try this DE stuff instead, looks like it gives a good shave :)

  • wow sad so he has to shave like 2 times? at that point wow what a wste of time u know how fast a beard grows seriously man

  • thats a waste buy an electric shaver from dr leonards its a good buy cus u buy one get one free plus the shaver is alot better built and it does the job shaving wit a razor it self is slow and u can cut ur self and its a waste of time and a bitchh just my opin

  • One of the better DE shaving vids. well done mate.

  • I still get tugging, or it feels that way. I use a merkur 38 with feather razors... I am fairly new to DE shaving but have all the basics down. I know my lather is not the problem, but on the first past after about a 3 days growth, especially around the chin/jaw I get the painful tugging. Do I need to stretch my skin? By the way, I am middle eastern, so my whiskers are very thick.

  • @granpastreetz I also use your shaving technique.

  • Your video gave me the confidence to try shaving with my first safety razor. Had some trouble getting my lather right, but it was a great shave! I used a Merkur 180.

  • Thanks for the video!! Very straightforward and to the point!!

  • Is this razor more aggressive than EJ DE 89 razor?

  • I'm having a problem with my Merkur 34c HD. The blade isn't sticking out the same length on both sides of the blade, so I can barely feel it on one side and way too much on the other. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks!

  • what is a good after-shave cream that actually works?

  • Very interesting I might have to try that

  • What blade brand do you recommend? I've only tried Derby's thus far and they give me tugging when I go against the grain.

  • @youngsurvivor If you are in the UK, you're in the home of some of the oldest established in the shaving world- Trumper's, Taylor Of Old Bond St, Truefitt & Hill, and relative newcomers like Edwin Jagger. Geo's website sells most of these quality brands. Yes... safety razor DE is the only way to go, Pallie!

  • Hey guys i live in the UK and they mostly sell shaving gells here but what are the best shaving soap or creme brands ?? i heard that proraso is really good

o and i have really sensitive skin and every time i shave with my gillete, i get razors burn, cuts and ingrown hairs, do u think i should shave with a safety razor instead? and does it makes hair grow faster and thicker coz allot of people say it does and doesnt

    thanks allot

appreciate it and love the vid

  • One thing I like to do is to put shaving cream on one side of my face as a time. I feel that the shaving cream with stiffen up or whatever if left on for to long. Plus it helps you focus on one side at a time that way you wont miss any hairs.

  • Well done video. Just did my first D/E shave with Merkur 34C and badger brush. Referred to your video numerous times. Thanks again!

  • Love the video! Looking forward to my switch to a Safety Razor

  • Thanks for the great video and instruction, I'm onto about my 6th week of shaving with a DE razor, and it makes such a difference since switching from multi-blade cartridges. I actually look forward to my shaves now!! No more ingrown hairs and rash. I've also experimented with several makes of blade and have to say that Feather is truly the best. I'm getting three shaves from the one blade (don't really want to push it any more). Thanks again geo!!

  • Hey Geo, just started watching your videos and i am very impressed and i am thinking about switching to a safety, however id like to see you do a video on mustache shaving and or trimming, as i usually shave my mustache for a more tailored look, thanks for reading -Rich

  • Man, you make it look so easy...but I have a lot of problems because my facial hair grows in all different directions.

  • You are a master at shaving bro, fantastic.

  • Excellent vid, Geo. I bought an adjustable, Merkur "Solingen", and a quality brush. I'm hoping that buying quality gear will pay off in the long run. I'm a bit intimidated by the blade, but we'll see how it goes tomorrow morning!

  • Thanks for this video. I just started shaving with the Merkur 34C HD yesterday. My first safety razor experience. I was doing okay for a while and then cut my neck below jaw/ear and also a few other cuts. I just ordered a Gillette Super Adjustable 1975 and hope that helps save my neck.

  • Excellent video. I really want to make the transition to shaving with a DE from the cartridges but feeling a bit nervous for some reason. Thanks for the tutorial! Which razors should I buy to begin with?

  • Never been a fan of filling the bowl with water and continuously reusing to wipe down your face. Don’t the hair trimmings get all over the place and on your face?

  • Comment removed

  • I'm not exactly sure why, but i have a strange feeling he's Italian....Hmmm. Don't think the chain has anything to do with it. :D Great vid btw

  • Is that a Tweezerman brush?

  • Thank you for the video. I got a Merkur 23C, Proraso pre shave and shaving cream, and a badger fur brush for Christmas and i've been hacking my face up trying to shave like I do with the Gillette Mach 3. This has given me new hope that I will learn how to do it right.

  • Great video...I just ordered all my stuff for my first DE shaving experience and can't wait...I'm sure I'll be back to review this many times!

  • This is one ace vid - nicely done buddy. On the basis of this I've decided to switch back to D/E after 30 years of electric/multi-edge. Santa has been listening, so I'm off to try my first shave...

  • Im 15 and ive shaved for about a year. Im starting to get to the point were my beared is thickening out.Ive heared people say going against the grain gives you ingrowing hairs and is bad for you. Is this true, I would much appreciate an answer and thanks for the vids they help alot!

  • @samjosh30 I'd advice you for someone who doesn't have the skin tolerance and maturity of a full grown man to not shave against the grain...yet. Wait until you're at least 16.

  • 16 years old and have been shaving for 2 years. Just recently switched to a safety razor and I couldn't believe how well it worked. Your videos definetly helped!

  • I'm 29. I decided a couple months ago that I would switch to a double from 15 of Mach 3 for my resolution, and the following year, learn a straight. I purchased a cheap Concord Super. I have previously watched many videos on the art, but this one was the one I watched prior to finally doing the deed. I feel like I'm a natural, having only caught a few bumps toward my neck. Took about 20 minutes and I didn't get EVERYTHING, but came close after pass 7. Trying again tomorrow. Thanks for the vids.

  • Sorry, 15 years I've used the Gillette Mach 3.

  • do i have to do a second pass?

  • Hi there, just bought this razor for my boyfriend, your video is so useful and cheerful! Thanks from London :)

  • Hey Geo,

your videos have been amazingly helpful. Have a de89 and love it but now I am kinda addicted Im looking at trying a couple more! I was wondering if you had any personal experience with the Merkur 1904? I'm not sure whether to buy the hd or the 1904 at the moment and if you had any info on what you think gives an overall better shave I would really appreciate that! Thanks!

  • I thought it was bad to shave against the grain?

  • On my birthday

  • This vid was upload

  • What's the best cut throat razor make that you can get?

  • Thank you for this. I'm debating putting together a safety razor shaving kit for someone as a gift, I think I will now. :)

  • @ihateuglyfonts

    Go for it....

Check out Geo's Ultimate Shaving Set at Shave Nation dot com......

    It's done for you already!

  • @geofatboy i have a question for you, do you wake up in the morning knowing that you're excited to shave again? or is it just me? I can't help myself, but when shaving with safety razor i am excited. One of the reasons why i wake up in the morning

  • Im about to purchase this becuase the catridges always leave me bumps and redness. sick of looking like my face is a train wreck. Very great vid! May i ask what shaving creme to yo use? Thanks!

  • @ChildrenOfBodomCOBHC

Taylor of Old Bond, Proraso, Trumpers, Edwin Jagger, Mama Bear's Soaps,

    all good stuff!

One for every day of the week!

    Geo.

  • No against the grain for the third pass on the cheeks and chin?

  • @gaz082

Check out some of my other videos to see the full 2 and 3 pass shave.

    Geo.

  • I have a very prominent adams apple and always find it extremely diffucult to shave the adams apple area of the neck without cutting myself. any tips?

  • @r3zzor

I salute your prominent Adam's Apple, you should be proud of it!

OK, Two effective ways to navigate the troublesome Adam's Apple while shaving.

First Method: Pull the skin over the apple to one side.... shave across that area and release. If need be, pull the skin to the other side, shave across that area and release.

Second Method: Swallow, hold that pose long enough to shave across that area, then release and you're all good!

Try one method or do them both!

    Geo.

  • Great job. Thank you!

  • @gwav64

    Thanks Boss!

    G.

  • I didn't think there would be any videos on shaving, how naive I was. Very helpful as I'm looking for a new razor. Thank you for your time.

  • @lilfeathes

    Looking for a new razor?

    Visit Shave Nation Dot Com....

    Good stuff!

    Geo.

  • @geofatboy Hi there Geo

Than you for showing me the light, as far a s safety razor shaving is concerned. I am asking me why I put up with sub standard Mach3 rubbish.

I have just shaved with an Edwin Jagger razor, but it bit back (ouch) and did not give me such a close shave,, even after 3 passes. I had to go over again with my Murkur HD for a fantastic result.

What is your opinion, on German Giesen & Forsthoff razors?

Do you ship to the UK?

    Kind regards Terry London UK

  • @z000132

Keep using the DE89, you should get some great shaves from it!

The GG&F razors are fine, as are most made in Germany.

Yes, International shipping all the time.

    Geo.

  • Great video, man! I really appreciate you taking the time to make this. I sure wish my dad would have taught me about this stuff. I'm 25 and just got my first Merkur razor today. This video will be very helpful when I get home to try it for the first time. Thanks!

  • @davidfalling

    No worries....

I'll be your substitute Dad for a few minutes when you're shaving....

Then you can go back to your real Dad.

    Enjoy the new Merkur!

    Geo.

  • Very good instructional video. Keep up the good work.

  • @guava79

    Will do....

    Thanks.

    G.

  • I have had the same razor for about 6 months its my first safety razor and is hands down the best razor I have owned. I have tried lots of blades but i like bic blades the best I will never go back to a modern razor.

  • @lukeburnside19

    Amen!

Thanks for putting the TRUTH out there!

    Geo.

  • Thanks for the video. It's been almost 20 years since my last DE shave. It's been multi-blade rasors (disposable and not) and electric razors for all this time. Just bought Mercur 180 and needed a refresher on how to use it. :)

  • @spbapf

    20 years!

Wow that's a long time between quality shaves....

    Welcome back!

    Geo.

  • Very good how to! Answered all my questions. Was so tired of cartridges and the constant pulling. Now I know where to go if I have any questions. Thanks, Cosmo

  • @metalman1138

    I'll be here!

Cosmo? Great name by the way! Love it.

    Geo.

  • How often do you need to shave? How often do you change the blade in a safety razor?

  • @TheJeremyCupp

Go to my Blog page and you can educate yourself on many things regarding Safety razors.

    Geo.

  • Thanks mate, I now know why my dad took a long time shaving. Which was really nice. Video was very helpful.

  • @awaprice

Your Dad and I are cut from the same cloth!

I've been guilty of the same.

    Geo.

  • I was thinking about going for this as my first safety razor:

    tinyurl(dot)com/6zfx53w

With the Merkur 34C HD and the LORD blades. What do you think, man?

  • @LethalLion

The HD is a great choice for a Starter Safety Razor.

Nothing wrong with the Lord blades either!

    Geo.

  • Just bought this razor and it is great. Good video although it makes it look easier than it is! Just need to practice I hope, especially on the chin! One problem I have at the moment though is on the 2nd/ 3rd pass. I've tried twice to shave against the grain on the neck really carefully and without applying any real pressure but my neck bleeds (lots of small dots). Any ideas what to do about this? I have heard some people say that you shouldn't shave against the grain when wet shaving.

  • @jondrums40

Shave WTG, then XTG, Then XTG in the opposite direction. See how that works for you.

Be sure to follow proper face prep....

    Check my video.

Pay special attention to the angle at which the razor contacts your face...

    Geo

  • where do you buy blades for the Merkur?

  • @jack35496

Any standard Double edge blades will fit in the Merkur HD.

    Buy them at ShaveNationdotcom.

    Geo.

  • @geofatboy Thanks a lot, great video man

  • Comment removed

  • I have to admit two things here.

Number one, the wife walked in with me watching a shirtless guy shave......L0L.

Number 2, I was cringing while watching you shave in certain spots.

  • @USFA45LC

    Love it!

Like Ricky Ricardo used to say:.......

"Lucy, You have some essplaining to do!!!!!!!"

Tell her it's purely an educational thing.... no more no less!

    Geo.

  • You've revolutionised my life. Shaving with a Merkur gives me the most amazing result, I can't believe I put up with those terrible multi-blade cartridges for years. Thanks so much for making this informative video.

  • @BeakFoundry

    Glad to help out!

Donate your old cartridge razors to your frenemies!

    Geo.

  • Thanks for the video! My big question is: can u do it for many days straight, and still have a perfect shave without any trouble?

My problem is not just to shave, but to shave again in 1 or 2 days. For me it´s absolutely impossible, since a cut the entire face on the second day, when my beard is too short (with Mach3 and others). Some years ago I had to quit trying and started using big beard. Now I want a clear face again, and I´m looking forward to buy a eletric shaver. Should I try DE before?

  • @rrrpereira

If you're shaving every day, just perform 1 or 2 passes with the grain.

This will get you close and keep the irritation to a minimum!

    Geo.

  • @geofatboy

what happens if you accidently swallow some cream?

  • @TheDevirtue

    Call the paramedics!!!!

    Nah, just kidding......

What happens when you swallow a little soap while washing your face?

    Same.....

    No worries, I think....

    G.

  • In a safety razor can i go against the beard and the mustache ? you didn't do that in the video

  • @MrBoTariq

Yes you can do that with a Safety razor. Check out my other videos and you'll see it being done.

    G.

  • I want to ask you a question what is better for you a safety razor or straight razor ?

i used a straight razor for 3 times and i cut my self

  • @MrBoTariq

They both work well when used properly.

It takes more than 3 attempts to become proficient at just about anything....

    Practice/Practice/Practice

    G.

  • very helpful. Thanks Sir. I will do the

  • @TrancePUA

    Thank You !

    G.

  • I just purchased a Parker safety razor with Parker badger brush and some Proraso ultra sensitive shaving soap. This will be my first shot at shaving without using a multiblade cartridge razor. Thanks for the video. I hope this cures up my razor burn issues. Damn my sensitive skin!

  • @Mahaney82

How'd you do with the new equipment?

    Geo.

  • @geofatboy No major cuts so far. Just trying to get the right angle for my neck. Thats the worst part for me. I think all the ingrown hairs are clearing up from before. Its definately more fun shaving this way. Its going pretty well. Just gotta be a bit easy on the neck and Im good to go. Thanks for the videos and the reply. Ive watched pretty much all of them.

  • @Mahaney82

Don't stop, you'll get it sorted out and perfected in no time!

    Geo.

  • @geofatboy Thanks for the kind words and videos. We all appreciate youre help and knowledge.

  • Is it possible to keep sharpening the blade when it goes blunt instead of throwing it away?

  • @hopej86

Yes, there are DE blade sharpeners out there.

    Check out Autostrop.

    Geo

  • @geofatboy: What's a DE blade sharpener, is that the brand name. What's Autostrop, again a brand name? Sorry for these stupid questions, but I am a complete novice to the wonderful world of shaving! Thanks for the video, very educational.

  • @dooli1981

DE/Double Edge razor blade that fits into a Safety Razor.

Yes, Auto Strop is a Brand Name.

    No worries, everyone starts somewhere.

    Geo.

  • dont forget pre shave oil.. ( 4 things u need)

  • @AngeloR674

Not 100 per cent mandatory, but it helps....

Especially for those with sensitive skin.

    Geo.

  • @geofatboy mandotory if u have a thick coarse beard.... and u want the best possible shave

  • You make shaving look FUN! :)

    Thanks for the video.

  • @jdperalta84

    LOL!

Only because it is, if you make it so......

    Thanks!

    Geo

  • Thanks for the video! How many shaves can you get per blade on average?

  • @tonyxfranco

Check out my Blog page and you can read all about safety razors.

    Usually 4-6 though.

    Geo.

  • holly crap Geo!! I cringed when you start shaving at that speed, I would be found lying on the bathroom floor with massive lost of blood! I still have long way to go to be at your level. Thanks for your video, I learned a few things!

  • @jarusl1

The speed at which you shave will increase over time as your technique improves and your muscle memory takes over.

Besides, speed is not your goal, you should take your time and enjoy your shaving experience!

Think of it as a wellness, buddah, yoga, zenlike, mind relaxation, get away from it all time....

Or whatever else you can come up with.

    Enjoy the moment.

    Geo.

  • Excellent! Thanks for showing us your technique. I learned allot.

  • @JimPierce01

    Thanks Jimmy!

    G.

  • I CUT MYSELF 2DAY SHAVING

I NEVER SHAVED MY CAVS/FOREARMS/CHEST BC I VIRTUALLY HAVE NO HAIR/GROW NO HAIR THERE I ONLY GET FACIAL HAIR ON THE MUSTACHE AREA. I DUNNO IF THIS IS A GOOD OR BAD THING!

MY HEAD-HAIR THOUGH IS LIKE VERY THICK SO I'D STILL HAVE A FULL SET OF HAIR IF I WERE LIKE 100 YEARS OLD!

  • It sounds like you're one of the lucky ones!

    G.

  • @geofatboy TY! =)

  • @Eleetnessful

    NP, NP, :)

    Geo.

  • I've managed to get shaving with a safety razor down to a nearly bloodless experience, but one problem is still giving me trouble. My right side where my chin connects with my jawbone.

I've followed the usual steps of showering before, and applying with a badger brush, etc.

When I go WTG, I barely take off anything. XTG takes off a little bit, but not a lot. ATG takes them out but very painfully, which leads to the blood. Any tips or advice?

  • @GregPlaysBass

The whiskers in that area may grow in various directions, try applying some extra pre-shave gel or Proraso pre-post cream in that area prior to lathering and shaving it.

It sounds like you may also need to work on adjusting the angle at which your blade contacts your face.

It's a trial and error type method which you'll get sorted out.

    Geo.

  • Good vid. No nonsense. Thanks.

  • @azonmymind

    Thanks much!

    Geo

  • @8chxBLhJDy9

If you work the brush vigorously into your skin like I do, you may get some tingling or what you call stinging.

Your brush is massaging the whiskers and hydrating and lubricating them with shaving cream.

It's all part of the master plan!

    Geo.

  • Thanks for taking the time to make this video, I just bought my first saftey razor last Friday, and after I was done it looked like I just got out of a knife fight, I will definitely try your style on on my next shave. (also ordered a badger brush in the middle of this video) thanks again!!

  • @ceendat

Your shaves will definitely improve with your new equipment and some practice.

    Geo.

  • I dont understand... If you drop the razer on your tile, will the razor break or tile??

  • @k9gsd117

In a battle between a ceramic tile floor and a Safety Razor, the floor will usually emerge victorious....

There still lies a slim chance that you may chip your tile floor though.

Hold onto your razor and you'll have no worries!

    Geo.

  • Cool video...i recently started doing the badger brush an soap about 5 months ago...i then started using a Bic Metal which i heard on some forums is almost like a DE shave...since then my ingrown hair problem went down by 90%..at times i would get these ugly welts about the size of a dime which i absolutely hated..like a boil...since i switched i think i got one in the past 5 months..which before i would get about 1 every 2 weeks..which in turn took about 2 weeks to go away when i got one...)'

  • @bacardipr05

So in other words: You are now a happy camper correct?

Most Gents tell me that the ingrown hair problem disappears within a week of switching to a safety razor.

    Proof positive!

    Geo.

  • @geofatboy Yes i am so glad that my problem has seem to pretty much vanish...Thankss

  • Love the Videos Geo! I am going to start saving with A Merkur HD razor and I have a couple of questions. First, Should you take the Blade out of the razor after every time you are done shaving? Is it bad for the HD to leave it in the bathroom on the stand (isn't moisture bad for the Straight razor?) when not using it?

Thanks for the videos! Love Them

  • @ARockInAHardPlace

    Thanks!

It is not mandatory that you remove the blade, but I always remove the blade, disassemble, rinse, and clean any shaving cream residue from my Safety Razor before storing it.

Unless you live next to Niagara falls you should be OK storing your razor in the bathroom. :)

Actually, the best place to store your razors is in your sock or underwear drawer.

    Geo.

  • Where can I get a safty razor?

  • @ZLUVCRUCE

    ShaveNationdotcom

  • I could have shaved, eaten breakfast, and gone to church in that amount of time! Must not have a job.

  • @MrZocor

    Interesting....

I usually shave, attend church, then go for breakfast.

I like to put my best foot (and face) forward in the House of the Lord.

Oh, BTW, shaving is my job. :)

    Geo.

  • Anyone who shaves is a girly man!

  • @MrZocor

Are you one of the guitarists for ZZ TOP by any chance?

    Interesting.

How old and long is your beard?

    G.

  • @geofatboy Maybe he prefers burning his whiskers. Best ways to light yourself on fire with your host MrZocor. Why come to a shaving video if you don't shave????

  • so whats your fav razor?

  • @MrCrazybitch09

    That's a rhetorical question right?

I don't believe I can narrow it down to just one.

Usually my favorite is the one I've been using the most in any particular week.

DE89, HD, Futur, Fatboy, Slant Bar......

And that's not even delving into the Straight Razor category!

All at the top of the list!

    Cheers,

    Geo.

  • how long do the blades last on a safety razor?

  • @franklin2010ish

Check out my Blog and will find the answers which you seek!

    Geo.

  • 2 people must have cut there face pretty bad using a safety razor.

  • @llanbull

    LOL!

Either that or they just don't like me.....

or they love their Multi Bladers....

    Geo.

  • Thanks for putting up these tutorial vids on safety shaving. It's my first time, just purchased the New Vincent w/Dorco blades.I watched my grandfather shave with safety razors and now I am. kinda cool when I think about it. thanks.

  • @saltwater47

    Nice!

Now Gramps is watching you shave, thinking it's pretty cool as well!

    Geo.

  • I'm using a Parker 80R with Feather double edged blades. For my prep, I shower before my shave. I also had to shave this morning for a party that I just got back from, and I had so many ripped hairs that my chin and upper lip looked like a murder scene.

    Before you call the Coroner:

Make sure that you are using a new blade....

If you're dragging hairs, not slicing through cleanly, it sounds like your blade may not be sharp enough.

Ensure that your whiskers are properly hydrated with hot/warm water and apply a quality shaving cream with a good brush to get the whiskers to stand up.

Take short strokes across the chin and jaw area and rinse the razor more often.

    Hope this helps!

  • @geofatboy I've found a way that actually works! If I apply your short strokes idea to my whole face, I get out with a very nice close shave and no burn whatsoever. If I do 1 pass WTG and 1 pass ATG, it seems to work best. The thing is, when going against the grain, I take extremely short strokes. For example, I went XTG on my mustache, but took about 50 strokes in doing so. I went ATG on the second pass on my neck, and when I rub my hand ATG I cant feel any stubble. Thanks for the help :)

    Excellent Greg!

    Perseverance pays off again.

Proof positive that if you stick with it, you'll get it sorted out.

Now you know the technique that works best for you and your face is happy I'm sure.
