I actually downloaded the movie and when the first image flashed by I thought "oh fucking great, the idiot who uploaded the torrent decided to be a smart ass and splice silly pics into the film"
yes just now i saw the movie for the first time in HD (earlier i saw it in SD) and got freaked when i saw these ghostly flashes in the scene where the enter icarus 1. I immediately googled "sunshine movie ghostly flashing images icarus 1 scene". Thank god i found your video :) What could have been the purpose of putting these flashes? I wonder why Danny Boyle put them in? Anyone have any confirmed reason for these deliberately inserted frames in the film? I noticed other attempts at horror too.
@DJRayun yeah it was, creepy enough that i couldn't believe my eyes and had to google it to find a youtube video, to reassure myself that i wasn't seeing stuff. I think Danny Boyle put these deliberately to generate internet talk for that scene and the movie. Which is exactly what were doing right now.

@20MUSiCisLiFE10 the faces were the same as the faces on the group picture of the icraus 1 crew. we see that group picture later on in the scene when they remove the dust from one of the walls.
@nickhansbauer yes very smart of Danny Boyle indeed, but if i had a million bucks, i'd pay it, to find out why exactly he put those flash frames in, what was going on his his head that made him put those?

The concept of the subliminal images is to lower the viewer's guard, and also increase the impact of the subsequent scenes"... just send me a cheque if you come across a million bucks ;p
