If the oil level is too high in the head it would overwhelm the stems seals and cause oil to get past into the combustion chamber which would cause a smoking exhaust..
Your not seeing it !! Look carefully at the left side and bottom of the transparent cover , oil can be seen. There is a direct oil feed to the cam , which then flows from oil holes in the lobes to the rockers and splashes on the rocker shafts. Too much oil in the head would cause smoking from the exhaust.
When I mentioned exhaust smoke I meant from the exhaust pipe caused by excess oil in the cam box causing the engine to burn oil in the combustion chamber.
Yes, too much oil in the head mixed with a worn out valve seal will cause a leak to the combustion chamber and subsequently, smoke coming out of the exhaust.

@smarfi not at the moment but thanks for asking.

That's very interesting. You really should make more of these and sell them on eBay or something. I'd buy it.

@turboslag:
Too much oil in the head would NOT cause smoking from the exhaust.
Smoke comes only from worn out valve stem sealings.

You are correct, there is plenty of oil flowing to the cam and rockers.
The smoke coming from the header surface is burned WD40, not engine oil.

That whole desmo valve is totally dry? I would expect some sort of oil to be in there. Or is there and i'm just not seeing it?
