  • I was in a couple of times. He may have been "advancing towards the rear", as we would never retreat!

  • Hey Brooks, did you say you were in the hospital? I hope you didn't get shot in the buttocks like my cousin from B'ham. I would refer to him as Forrest Gump but he is much larger than me.When he told me about his wound he said "you know what I was doing."

  • Thats ok. Sometimes my PTSD kicks in. They did screw with us to. Some shake and bake 2nd Luie told me my boots needed shined. I told him no way,we don,t do that in the bush! Welcome Home brother.

  • Just messing with you dude. At the time we all wanted to be a REMF. However, when I was there stand down only lasted 3 days for us. They screwed with us so bad we were glad to get back to the bush.

  • @kyletango I was back in the rear on stand down ( 1 week). All units get that deal. I spent the rest of my tour in the bush on the hospitial! I wish I were in the rear with the gear and beer. I would rather been a REMF,then a grunt. What did you do?

  • I was with C Co. 6/31 in 68. Our advance party went to Chu Lai. We were going to be there but the moved us down to the 9th.

  • i remembered when we left L.Z.Center fot the last time to pull securty in Da Nang. . i was glad not to have to go back into the bush.
