This reminds me of me and my first love, he was golfing at the Country Club and I was just loving being with him, and it started raining and we ran under a shelter, laughing and just loving each other! Such innocence!!
I loved this tune in 1975. Reminds me of Shiprock, New Mexico where we used to live, and where I used to hear this tune on the radio. By the way, Niel was authentic,NOT sappy. This is pfoof.
This is a great tune! Love the 70's! I have an original tune that is reminiscent of that time period. It's called "Life in a J.A.R." Swing by my channel and have a listen please.
Not my favorite artist of the '70's, but to his credit in an era of heavy guitars and mad drug use, he sure did reinvent himself for a second go around. A true professional musician and artist...
Stuttering John to Neal: "What did you do with the money"? Neil: "What money"? Stuttering John: "The money for singing lessons". Neil: "What singing lessons"?!
Russ Kunkell on drums! He played on hundreds of big hits in the 70's and 80's. He recently toured with James Taylor and Carol King. He was the drummer on all of their big hits.
@panhead55 I don't recognize him, probably a session side man. I do remember seeing this particular video when it first aired. I was a senior in High School, sitting on the couch with my girlfriend. I wonder what ever happened to her...Oh yea, I married her!
Reminds me of a special little blonde in high school. I can listen to this, close my eyes and see her in bell bottoms and a halter top. We had many great nights listening to the great 70's songs on 8 track. Our songs were "Hello It's Me, Just You and Me, and Photograph! WOW.............what would we do without memories?
I 100% agree, Neil Sedaka must be inducted into the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame! His list of credits is lengthy and has impacted music in a major way! Very few artist today can measure up to his success as a singer and prolific songwriter! Induct him now!
@victorsblock Nah he doesn't like cock...that was just a big rumor back in the day cause Neil ain't the most masculine fellow in the world. But he's been married to the same dame for the last 50 years and has two kids and some grandkids. Neil's no homo, haha.
Photos were published many years ago with him in leather chaps half naked at a homo party. He is quietly known to be bisexual at the very least.I saw the photos in the magazine(star or enquirer). He is as close to being out of the closet without actually admitting it.
I have great admiration for him as a musical genius...........but he is a bone smuggler.
I first heard this song working in TJ Maxx. They would play it on their little retail radio station and I fell in live with it. The way that chorus falls in like a heart melting. Well, I've gotta say that was one good thing that came from that job, being introduced to Sedaka.
1.) If you didn't know this was Neil Sedaka you have no business commenting on the video and 2.) you sound like a complete fool referencing what you thought was a woman as a "bitch". Nice.
Come on folks there is plenty of decent music being written, recorded and performed today. Are they Neil Sadaka clones? Thankfully no, as that would be both boring and disapointing.
Neil Sedaka clones is what those bitcin about today's music, expect performers to be. Like some did and probably still do expect new comers to be clones of Frank Sinatra. In the context of my comment Neil Sedaka clones. shouldn't have been strange at all, ignoring my spelling error.
nothing beats the oldies from the 70's and 80's.......You cant compare it to todays music...These were TRUE classic times...They're priceless. I am so happy that I had the chance to grow in this since I was born in 75.......Thanks for uploading
Yes - the back up singers are Brian and Brenda Rusell. They wrote the album "Think It Over" for Cheryl Ladd and somewhere along the way, Brian divorced Brenda and married the angel.
Notice the wobble in his voice when he sings, none of the artists nowa days have that live, they rely on studio technology to put that in. He handles the high notes well. Legend.
i dig you want neil to be in theHoF. but steve perry and pat benatar aren't in either. the hall is really bogus. all three have been amazing performers whether or not they get in or not.
when i was little i thought the 2md verse went "after a while we run into a tree i looked at her and she looked at me" and i thought wow what a happy song about having a car accident on a rainy day!
How in the world did he come up with that chorus? I mean it's so much more than a two & a half step drop! Another reminder that simplicity is perfection. Understand why TARKUS, THICK AS A BRICK, VANGELIS' SOIL FESTIVITIES & other complex pieces are awesome, but the simplicity of a few chords is beyond mere understanding into the realm of magick.
Neil, the red fefora hat says it all man and i do hear laughter in the rain esp. during a warm summer rain and this is just make out music gold and speaking of porno (nice comment from sicko whatever there...yeesh above) you don't need porno when you have romance and Neil, you gave us all that and more with this song.
