  • WHAT IS UP WITH THE PINK PIMP HAT ?

  • This reminds me of me and my first love, he was golfing at the Country Club and I was just loving being with him, and it started raining and we ran under a shelter, laughing and just loving each other! Such innocence!!

  • Put Neil In; he is more than deserving!

  • I loved this tune in 1975. Reminds me of Shiprock, New Mexico where we used to live, and where I used to hear this tune on the radio. By the way, Niel was authentic,NOT sappy. This is pfoof.

  • いいですよねーこの曲! very good song! I like this song!

  • What's up with the pimp hat?

  • used to listen to this in the student pub at ST. Ambrose College in Davenport, Iowa.

in 1974. Thanks for brining back Super memories

  • That's the same hat that's he's wearing on the cover of the "Sedaka's Back" album which contained this, his "miracle song".

  • Nice hat.

  • Nice song, but Neil wouldn't dare wearing that hat on Coney Island Avenue where he grew up.

  • Dirk Diggler singing backup!!!

  • awww mannnn,... the 70's were so much better than anything today! take me back!

  • I caught his show in Vegas in 08. Simply fantastic. And who was sitting behind enjoying the show? Jon Bonjovi!!

  • This is a great tune! Love the 70's! I have an original tune that is reminiscent of that time period. It's called "Life in a J.A.R." Swing by my channel and have a listen please.

  • I love Rene and Calle 13, but this is what real music is all about!

  • Beautiful song and Man. TY for sharing.

  • Not my favorite artist of the '70's, but to his credit in an era of heavy guitars and mad drug use, he sure did reinvent himself for a second go around. A true professional musician and artist...

  • Neil Sedaka is awesome.

  • Looks a little bit like Freddy Mercury singing in the chorus

  • It would be nice if the cast from Glee do a cover of the hit song.

  • Stuttering John to Neal: "What did you do with the money"? Neil: "What money"? Stuttering John: "The money for singing lessons". Neil: "What singing lessons"?!

    :)

  • Oy vey - he looks like a gay Jewish pimp. Not that there's anything wrong with that.......

  • Russ Kunkell on drums! He played on hundreds of big hits in the 70's and 80's. He recently toured with James Taylor and Carol King. He was the drummer on all of their big hits.

  • @Esqurl how about the bass player? this guy rules, but i don't recognize him. thanks

  • @panhead55 I don't recognize him, probably a session side man. I do remember seeing this particular video when it first aired. I was a senior in High School, sitting on the couch with my girlfriend. I wonder what ever happened to her...Oh yea, I married her!

  • Absolutely wonderful. Thank you for posting it.

  • Reminds me of a special little blonde in high school. I can listen to this, close my eyes and see her in bell bottoms and a halter top. We had many great nights listening to the great 70's songs on 8 track. Our songs were "Hello It's Me, Just You and Me, and Photograph! WOW.............what would we do without memories?

  • @hotstuffandicecream you just made me smile. great memory and thank you.

  • that bass player is great. they don't make them like that anymore...

  • Neil is the greatest singer, writer & piano player I've ever heard I think he's great.

  • Thanks for this lovely upload. I especially like the coda. It adds a touch of variation to the recording. Great lyrics and melody.

  • I first heard this jam driving after hitting up the vintage store lol and was like ooo like this song, thought it was a lady singer tho lol

  • all those "brill building" folks should be in the hall of fame. some are but most aren't

  • Any body know who the drummer is???

  • i love this song reminds me of my frist kiss

  • Sure I'll sign it - -Super artist

  • Neil Sedaka is awesome!!! Love, love Laughter in the Rain!!!

  • Doing his best Jim Nabors impersonation

  • Sorry, but on the internet, I WON'T Sign NUTHIN.' I trust no one. Good luck with it, though

  • I 100% agree, Neil Sedaka must be inducted into the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame! His list of credits is lengthy and has impacted music in a major way! Very few artist today can measure up to his success as a singer and prolific songwriter! Induct him now!

  • @victorsblock Nah he doesn't like cock...that was just a big rumor back in the day cause Neil ain't the most masculine fellow in the world. But he's been married to the same dame for the last 50 years and has two kids and some grandkids. Neil's no homo, haha.

  • @victorsblock haha Thats one Ive never heard 'Bone Smuggler, cool.

  • Too bad they don't make songs like this anymore! Remember when music could actually make you feel ALIVE?

  • So many memory's.. love this song so much.

  • That's a lot of hat! Go 'head, Mr. Sedaka!

  • Class... Roger Manning before he was invented :)

  • Wow, what a set of pipes, no wonder he was a star.

  • April showers bring May flowers! This is the most romantic song about spring ever!

  • He always sounds as good live as he does on his records, not many can pull that off.

  • I feel a shiver run up my spine.....

  • haha pink hats and spider man tee shirts and falsettos...... feeling really gay right about now

  • Haha, I never notice before, but he looks like Gomer Pile.

  • @FiestyCat86 that was the first thing I noticed when I was growing up as akid

  • Hell yeah he belongs in the HOF - I'm really disappointed he is not already there. Thanks for posting this great song!

  • I remember one of his first songs and it camed out in 1959. Oh Carol, so this guy spans a few years

  • i never realized how gay he was.

  • Ahhh Sedaka, you kill me of hapiness...

  • He looks like Jim Nabors...

  • He's feeling happy inside.

  • Isn't that Brenda & Brian Russell singing background vocals?

  • great pop song pity about the hat!!

  • This is a feel good song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @karameldreem Amen!!! Typical of that era

  • @karameldreem

    It sure is.

  • Thank You for this.. IT made my day!

  • I first heard this song working in TJ Maxx. They would play it on their little retail radio station and I fell in live with it. The way that chorus falls in like a heart melting. Well, I've gotta say that was one good thing that came from that job, being introduced to Sedaka.

  • great one! thanks!! Happy Valentine's Day!

  • I don't know why this song came to mind, it's a good one. Thanks for posting.

  • What an incredible talent, to be able to write such lyrics, and put them to music. His voice is perfect, fantastic performance. Thanks

  • 1.) If you didn't know this was Neil Sedaka you have no business commenting on the video and 2.) you sound like a complete fool referencing what you thought was a woman as a "bitch". Nice.

  • There are no clones of Mr. Sedaka, he's the one and only Mr. Great Music, a genius, I love his music.

    JackStarkey in Brazil!

  • ITs 1974..thats whats up with the hat.!!

  • The hat worn on his 1974 LP "Sedaka's Back" was given to him by Al Pacino

  • Beautiful! 'I feel the warmth of her hand in mine'

  • beautiful song, but , whats up with that hat?

  • I like Barry Manilow too. You have to respect talent.

  • Sendiing this song to the one I LOVE right now!

  • Helens Reddy to use Eltons John...lol

  • Didn't Helen Reddy and Sedaka perform together on this episode? do you have the clip?

  • when I hear this song I remember being 13 in my room listening to a 45. Jump 30 yrs later... e-mail me I will tell you.

  • That hat is boss. Haha, Neil I love you. :)

  • I like the song but never told anyone. lol

  • No Lip syncing here , just true talent , great job .Maybe he could teach the young stars how to sing ?

  • I was into Alice Cooper and Grand Funk then , now at my very mid-age you can tell how good he really is , great talent HALL of FAME deserving

  • Damn that boy could sing....

  • this track is a masterpiece. 5 stars to mr. sedaka. i'd be pissed if i lost carole king too.

  • I like bad blood but can't give it a masterpiece rating sorry

  • Come on folks there is plenty of decent music being written, recorded and performed today. Are they Neil Sadaka clones? Thankfully no, as that would be both boring and disapointing.

  • Neil Sedaka clones? What are you talking about? That's the strangest thing I read on the web

  • Neil Sedaka clones is what those bitcin about today's music, expect performers to be. Like some did and probably still do expect new comers to be clones of Frank Sinatra. In the context of my comment Neil Sedaka clones. shouldn't have been strange at all, ignoring my spelling error.

  • Sorry I mean Waterloo Sunset.

  • The melody sounds like Sunny Afternoon by the Kinks.

  • One of the greatest singer/songwriters of all time. Awesome song.

  • Wow, he sounds amazing live! :)

  • Awesome song, I have visualized this song many times.

  • Today's music is garbage.

  • yep..you said it man...young people only know a thug yellling hate/cuss words in a mike...

  • The hat is lovely

  • I love the way the dude is dancing from 1:58-2:04 lol.

  • It's funny!

  • great sex music wow im blowin

  • Now I know where Boy George got his hat.

  • wonder if Neil can round up the former band for another take

  • I wonder if Neil can round up the old gang again

  • Song is simply magic, love the lyrics, so romantic gets me everytime I listen to it.

  • he should be in the Hall, just like Chicago should be, thats why The hall Of fame is a joke. i don't think Neil really cares anyways

  • Oh, that mid '70s sax solo!

  • a masterpiece

  • nothing beats the oldies from the 70's and 80's.......You cant compare it to todays music...These were TRUE classic times...They're priceless. I am so happy that I had the chance to grow in this since I was born in 75.......Thanks for uploading

  • Great song!! Neil Sedaka is one great songwriter!!!!!

  • Great Musician ............ crazy hat

  • Laughter in the rain has turned to crying in the rain without you ML

  • he inspired me to write and sing.. check out gypwin

  • yes I love the bass with this song I think it is the best

  • That's by far Neil's best song.Way ahead of "Breaking Up Is Hard to Do".

  • Sorry, but The Hollies need to go in first...then Neil is next. ; p

  • his voice is one of kind...he sing with ease....great voice.....

  • Notice the wobble in his voice when he sings, none of the artists nowa days have that live, they rely on studio technology to put that in. He handles the high notes well. Legend.

  • what a great voice to hit those high notes

  • This song must have been played in every roller skating rink in the 70's. That's why I really remember it.

  • DAMN!!! AWESOME!!!

I Sleep with lots of woman but don't really get happy inside! it's love and laughter in the rain that does it!

the song really click for me!

  • i dig you want neil to be in theHoF. but steve perry and pat benatar aren't in either. the hall is really bogus. all three have been amazing performers whether or not they get in or not.

  • That's Brenda Russell as the backup singer.

  • MMy favourite Sedaka song!!!

  • About the hat... he DID wear it on Sedaka's Back.. So maybe it was a nod to that... remember the hat, buy the album.

About the backup singer: I''m still working on a theory for that one.

  • when i was little i thought the 2md verse went "after a while we run into a tree i looked at her and she looked at me" and i thought wow what a happy song about having a car accident on a rainy day!

  • a lovley easy to sing to song, nice words and a magical tune

  • You're great, Neil!

  • It's Neil's song!!!

  • Neil's got a special place in my heart, rain or shine! Thank you for posting this one!

  • How in the world did he come up with that chorus? I mean it's so much more than a two & a half step drop! Another reminder that simplicity is perfection. Understand why TARKUS, THICK AS A BRICK, VANGELIS' SOIL FESTIVITIES & other complex pieces are awesome, but the simplicity of a few chords is beyond mere understanding into the realm of magick.

  • Eat me

  • Neil Sedaka is a wonderful singer. I love this song. Awesome. Thanks. Have a nice afternoon.

  • Did he borrow that hat from Liberace's pool house?

  • really love this song of neil sedaka.. his voice is so wonderful.. ^_^

  • 1975 was a great year for music and this song shows why

  • I remember listening to, and loving this song as a 12 year old kid! For some reason, my mother didn't like when I'd sing along!

  • isn't this just beautiful...it takes you back when music meant something even to 12 year olds like us

  • I love this song his voice is perfect

  • Neil is NOT in the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame. OMG. This is ridiculous. Where's the petititon man. I am so going to google that right now!!

  • Great version, great voice. The hat ! - It's like he moonlighted as a member of DEVO.

  • Where is the video with Elton on "Bad Blood"?

  • My favorite Neil Sedaka song!

  • Neil, the red fefora hat says it all man and i do hear laughter in the rain esp. during a warm summer rain and this is just make out music gold and speaking of porno (nice comment from sicko whatever there...yeesh above) you don't need porno when you have romance and Neil, you gave us all that and more with this song. Have loved it forever and I was there baby when this aired (but young mind you, very young *LOL). Thx.

  • you can't front on neil!!!

  • neil can't get in the rock hall of fame but pimp chocalate or whatever narsacistic rappers call theirselves now, gets in on songs his producer wrote just to shut up the culture.put someone in on talent not what's politically correct.

  • Real, solid, pop music. Man, the older I get, the more I love the 70's!!!

  • This is one of the most incredible love songs ever made! NEIL SEDAKA RULES!!!!

  • Back up singer crackin me up____

  • I cant believe Neil Sadak isnt already in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame !

What, do you have to be Dead to get in first ?

Carl Slicer, Rockville, CT (Home of the Rockville Rocket.)

  • Neil is wondefulz__ cool fuckin Hat man---

But that dud e back up dancin like robot l@@KK___ HHHHQQAAQAQAQQ

  • I remember watching this when it aired.

  • What a great performance. That guy in the spider shirt reminds me of a 70s porno dude.

  • YES....THAT'S BRENDA RUSSELL

  • Is it me or does that piano have no strings in it?

  • It's you! :-)

  • This song is practically perfect.

  • Man, Neil could wail. Great voice. Spot on, he and the band sound great live. I think Neil, Paul Anka, Frankie Valli, even Wayne Newton to a degree, have always gotten crap that wasn't deserved. They are an important part of the history of American music.
