yeah im building an identical engine with a fk-98 cam and cnc ported cb performance heads. im planning on embarrassing the occassional mustang, challenger, or camaro at red lights. thanks for the info!

is it street legal? And what fuel do you run in that engine with that compression ratio?

@mcdmar1985, ya street legal. If im just cruising around on the street ill run 50% race gas and 50% pump gas or sometimes even less race gas, I have run straight 91 octane in it and its ok if you are just putting around. At the strip straight 110 octane.

How much did it cost you (minus the bug) to get it to wheelie? With all the performance parts? I am looking into drag racing VW Bugs because they are easy to work on and quite simple. Also, is yours street legal? and Do you have to have a title to race on a track?

tranny is a 4.12 r&p with close 3rd and 4th with a billet spool

Putting a type 4 in it with a lot of mods does the trick :). At least thats what made my blue gtv bug the fastest car in town ;)
