  • Cool but the HUD is not as good as the PC version

  • deus ex human rev. so much better

  • It is not horrid is fantastic.

  • Comment removed

  • For X box they made Deus Ex: Invisible War that i am not familiar, and Deus Ex: Invisible War was not available for PS2. But if you want to play original Deus Ex try it on PC and you will see how awesome this game really is. Is harder that PS2 version. But even PS2 version is fantastic. In fact PS2 version is one of the best PC port that i ever play.

  • @prulcan

The PC version is horrid. This game just didn't age well at all.

  • @Ygdrasel You're insane if you think that's in anyway true,

  • @PirateLopez95

It's completely true. Go look at it. The textures are shit even by the standards of that time period. The hit detection is finicky at best. It's just bad.

  • @Ygdrasel

Uh, no. The textures are the same, superior if you're using the New Vision mod, and the hit detection is fine. You hit them with a bullet they feel the bullet and die. Doesn't get any simpler than that.

  • @PirateLopez95

The textures are garbage on PC. Granted, the PS2 graphics are bland as shit, at least they look remotely decent. And sure, hit detection is fine...Except for 90% of the time when they feel the bullet and continue running around totally unphased despite a clear shot to the face.

  • @Ygdrasel And besides why should graphics matter?

The PS2 version also had a bunch of cut content and butchered some of the levels due to its limited memory.

  • @PirateLopez95

    "Why should graphics matter?"

Are you kidding with that? Why do you think Deus Ex is in full 3D graphics instead of 8-bit like the SNES and old consoles used? Why are special effects done with CGI instead of puppets and animatronics today?

And resolution makes no difference. The textures are horrendous regardless. Well below standard even for the time it was released in. New Vision makes them decent but unmodded, it's just inexcusable.

  • @Ygdrasel

It's gameplay and content that should matter. Not how well its detailed. There is barely a difference in PS2 and PC Deus Ex graphics. Just some shinier textures and prerendered cutscenes. Wow.

The content and gameplay is very different. Instead of sectional damage like the original Deus Ex, you get a certain amount of points. Not to mention the levels that were shortened.

Graphics don't make the game. The 'bad graphics' it has didn't stop it from winning Game of the Year.

  • @Ygdrasel

No, you're either playing at a higher difficulty or you suck.

Either way, that's not a hit detection thing. It's a difficulty thing; NPC health is based on the difficulty level you're playing at.

Try lowering the difficulty or playing on the realistic difficulty. Head shots are one shot kills with pretty much any weapon.

Either way, its poor judgements to judge a game based on how good it looks.

  • @PirateLopez95

Lowest difficulty. Same problem. Maybe you got a better copy but when I played, hit detection sucked. And not just with guns, for that matter.

And it's perfectly reasonable to judge a game on looks: If it looks like shit, it will lack immersion. It's poor judgement to judge ENTIRELY on looks, but that's why I also brought up the miserable hit detection.

It was GOTY -over a decade ago-. Maybe the copy I played was buggy. It still desperately needs an updated re-release.

  • @Ygdrasel STEAM

  • @Ygdrasel The PC version of Deus Ex can also run at resolutions up to 1600 by 1200, compared to the PS2 version 640 by 480.

    PC > PS2

  • im playing this game, system shock 2 and project eden simultaneously these days on the pc... what a trip down memory lane... :D

  • thinking of picking this up on steam, anyone know if you can play with a controller?

  • @EASTSIDEDELI If you want it for PC then use keyboard and mouse, for PS2 use a controller.

  • Man, I ended up falling in love with this game

  • this game was way better on the xbox

  • @1787dude Deus Ex: The Conspiracy was only available for PC and PS2

  • @prulcan well they made one like this on the xbox or maybe I did play it on the ps2 it was a long time ago, actually they did make one on the xbox but it definatly wasn't this, I remember upgrading my strength to I could throw bodies really far and it had an energy sword in it which I thought was awesome.

  • I still like the PC better :D

  • @BirdiewasHere Of course is better on PC, but for PS2 is still good port. I played that game on both systems.

  • good thing this series got its justice with its new installment

  • Cool, shame ps2 dont have a keyboard and mouse, this game realy ask for it

  • @1300l Its compatible with KB/M, so is Half Life.

  • @AaronSOLDIER nice i wasnt awaere of that. my nephew has a ps2 so i think i know what and what game for it ill buy for him hehe.

  • @1300l This might sound stupid but if you wanna play KB/M on it it needs to be USB.

  • @AaronSOLDIER yea :)

  • @1300l Deus ex don't need keyboard and mouse trust me i played this game on both system. Controls for PS2 are great. Also on PS2 you can use any USB keyboard and mouse, but game must have that option otherwise will not work.

  • @prulcan tnx, now all i need is to find it for buy :D

  • @ndmda7 Depends on the model PS3.

  • I like the PS2 version. The character models have more polygons and even though the textures are a little muddier, I think it actually adds to the games grim, miserable setting.

  • So you cant have cripeled limbs in the PS2 version?

  • @Abon666 No you can't.

  • @brutalhits I'm 16; I've never heard of Deus Ex until a couple of years ago. Halo and CoD sold more copies than Deus Ex, with both PC and the PS2 port combined. What the other guy is saying is fact. He in no way insinuated that Deus Ex was a poorer game because less copies were sold. Also; stop stereotyping.

  • @SouthernRebel222 Hmm. Maybe not on the official version.

  • This game is laggy sometimes?when something explode or when the area is big?because i downloaded and burned, and it lag.normal?

  • I am glad my favorite ports were keyboard and mouse supported.

  • i might have to look for the ps2 version. i just installed the new vision mod for the pc, but the sound still has issues (all the dialogue play back cuts off the last 3-4 seconds of what someone is saying) and the graphics and movement are really jumpy. just can't get the damn game to work right.

  • I never liked the PS2 version, though its probably because I played it back on PC

  • Yep never heard of his game but look like it was fun. I might get the new one.

  • @ClydeCash2011 deus ex..is...not his name...JC Denton is his name. you just lost my respect D:<

  • @ClydeCash2011 deus ex..is...not his name...JC Denton is his name. you just lost my respect D:<

  • Thumbs up for stick!

  • I love everything about this game, and I believe it has the best soundtrack of any game I have ever played.

  • @BiothDaSloth Then you have to play Metal Gear Solid 3....

  • only improvement i really noticed was the fact that enemies, when killed, dont just fall backward-stiff as a broom

  • @HENN3H

    BEST FUCKING GAME EVER BTW

  • LOL. Deus EX - Elder Scrolls of the future.

  • Damn calling it an "underrated gem" as well as overlooked in the description. who are you to decide really. even if it didn't sell relatively well. maybe not everyone likes the games you like. its becoming way too much of a fad to call games underrated gem or overlooked etc.

  • @brutalhits He decides his own gems and underrated games. His job is to make people be reminiscent of older and possibly overlooked games. And a fad, now, really? He's been doing this for about 4-5 years now.

  • @elsnichkum Calling it underrated to me makes it seem like it's fact not opinion. doesn't it? SO wait he's been calling games overlooked, underrated gems for about 4-5 years? damn maybe he's the one to actually start the fad then.

  • @brutalhits Aww no dude, I didn't mean to harp on you at all! It's just that if you do look at it at a standpoint, almost all of his games ARE underrated in terms of the general public. I, in fact, owned most of these games before I watched his videos, but thanks to him, I've added some more great titles to my ps2.

  • @elsnichkum I'm trying to explain that it's impossible to say they are underrated in terms of the general public. How would you know? You wouldn't. Just because a few people you know don't know or like a certain game doesn't make it underrated now does it.

  • @brutalhits ok, I was trying to be nice but now you're just being a dick. Just look these games up online pal and look at his comments on his videos, almost may agree about these games being underrated. That's what I meant about the "general public". Not just one or two or few people. Many.

  • @elsnichkum Oh yeah well that's exactly the problem im trying to adress. a lot of people throw the word around like it's nothing these days. And you just started being a dick by calling me a dick. I'm just trying to explain something to you.

  • @elsnichkum It's a contradiction in terms. Whenever people call a game underrated, it just seems to be an older game, that everybody knows is good. Look if everybody calls something underrated, is it infact underrated? If it was, people wouldn't all be calling it underrated would they? It's just too complicated to even call something underrated, before I even start to talk about it being too hard to know what every person ever thought about the game in question.

  • @brutalhits

Its underrated in todays terms because near enough everyone I know who calls themselves "gamers" has never even heard of Deus Ex, that's why its underrated, because classic titles like Deus Ex, aren't appreciated anymore, people just play the shit of the shelves you see in gamestores these days.

  • @TheXsK But how many people do you know? You see what I've been seeing people do online allover is making claims like you are right now about games they have grown to love. It's becoming too much of a fad and it's making me tired.

  • @brutalhits

I've known lots of people in my life, its not a question of how many people i know, its an example that many people these days have never even heard of this franchise untill a few days ago when HR came out.

I'm not saying its underrated altogether, I'm saying that it goes a miss because "gamers" of today don't even know how their games got to be how they are.

  • @TheXsK HR came out? I don't know what that is but, I've never played this game myself. Infact I have heard of it, literally I have heard of it, back then too, it was a popular game :/ I've never really checked it out, and it doesn't look like it interests me still. But seriously this is not some underground game or something. People have different tastes too you know. I think there's more something wrong with todays games.

  • @TheXsK Games nowadays, in my opinion, are focussed way too much on things that have already been done. There's very little originality nowadays. Which I assume kinda sucks for a lot of gamers like me who have been playing all sorts of games for about 20 years.

  • @TheXsK oh and by I've never played this game, but I have heard of it, I meant Deus Ex.

  • @TheXsK And by how many people do you know, I mean that there's a fuckton of gamers in the world, and it's kinda hard to say what even a majority of the gamers know or think. Let's say theres 200 million gamers (probably a lot more but w/e) and you know 20....

  • @brutalhits

You do have a point, don't get me wrong, but what I'm saying is, go around Youtube and the internet in general on gaming related pages/videos, and ask people if they played the game Deus Ex, chances are, they would've played Cod or Halo or something, more than they would've played Deus Ex, that's all I'm saying, its not underrated, its just gone a-miss because of the times. Yeah underrated is the wrong word and i apologise, but I'm sure you get what i mean.

  • @TheXsK That's because they're 12. And they don't sell games for last gen consoles anymore. Well they do in some places but mostly used copies. Most normal games stores just don't sell them so it's kinda hard to find out about them if you just crawled out of your moms vagina.

  • Look at that slowdown! I bought it originally on ps2, but then my brother gifted it to me on steam. It's fun no matter how you play it. I prefer the pc one due to being a smoother ride, but i hate having to type in all the passwords.

  • Astounding game, I beat it first time without usings Augs because I didn't understand them lol.

  • This seems dumbed-down from the PC.

  • @StormZephyr

True and auto aim + full motion videos.

  • @SgtThom

Body-part specific health and cooler interface. No auto-aim. Who needs FMV, anyway?

  • PC version is actually MUCH better. But this one is good too

  • @ClydeCash2011 noob his name is jc denton!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just kidding, that was worth a laugh.

  • Played it alot but I've never noticed before that the soundtrack sounds alot like the Metroid series. Especially the Prime series. Good thing!

  • @omma911 Well it's possible that Retro Studios were big fans of Deus Ex or just really liked the music.

  • .... shocked when it's not the "made for pc" deus ex people are expecting. They obviously learned from their mistakes but they may make a bigger mistake of thinking the loud internet community (mostly claiming to be fans when they only jumped on it's popularity after it gained a cult following) know what makes a good game. It's been done before.

  • I can't even stand to play this game on console its so fucking all over the place on the inventory and UI management again go with the PC verison you don't need a mega PC to run it and you will have a better time with it.

  • @gondule MY pc couldn't even play Postal 2 unless you count slow motion as "playing" it, but this game runs just fine on it. Pathetic, but honestly as much as I love games like halo or postal I would prefer a game like this every time. For a guy that fucking craves story COMBINED with gameplay a game like this is my wet dream. How the hell I hadn't heard of this before I got my hands on it is beyond me, it's so amazing.

  • @videosfromderelix Glad your enjoying the game its such a wonderful game. If your computer can handle I would recomend getting the HDTP mod wich makes the game look even better.

  • @gondule MY computer can't handle much (really grateful it runs de and black and white, awesome underrated games i didn't know about or pay for until pirating was discovered) but the computer I'm playing on now is able to run it and i'm using that and new vision for my first true play through. No side mission will be untouched this time. I wish they made more games like this. It's sad that a game like this is old yet la noir (I love the game but it's just a half assed version of this) is new.

  • @videosfromderelix Well I can tell you 2 good things 1 Deus Ex HR is not as dumbed down as Invisible War and 2 don't play Invisible War....ever. Now the down side to Deus Ex HR in your case is you can't run it on your PC, yet. So until you upgrade or get a better one stick with Deus Ex GOTY and possibly Get the nasty console verison of Deus Ex HR. Thats my Advice to you from one PC gamer to another. Have a great time through Deus Ex I hope you enjoy every single minute of it :D.

  • @gondule I hope you have tried IW. I'm sorry but that's why I hate gamers, everything is "super duper serial."

IW is just another game. It's not "as good" but it's still a great game. I'm glad I gave it a try and I'm disappointed you wouldn't give it a chance. Makes me think you would never give DE a chance if it had been badly received by critics like IW. I guess most people are mind controlled by the media so I can't blame you as a person, just you as a species. Nasty console version? Nasty???

  • @videosfromderelix The reason I hate it is because I played Deus Ex when it came out and was excited for the game and then I bought on day 1 and its the prime example of Consolisation everything was dumbed down Ammo was pointless No more augmentation canisters only Aug upgrades and skills completely removed decisions didn't matter at all. I don't hate a game if I haven't played it.

  • @gondule What? There was plenty of choices, more than in the first actually. I agree the game was worse, but IMO it was because it was all over the place while the first was based on player choice but also specific and guided in a certain way. IW still had augmentation canisters if I remember correctly, I know for a fact that you had to choose between two powers for every body part, just like the first. Still, it was a great game compared to the average action or RPG game.

  • @videosfromderelix Nah i'm a hardcore Deus Ex fan and I hated it no choices in the game mattered at all nothing you did seemed like it consequences only time I felt like my choices did anything was at the end. My opinion and I am looking foward to Deus Ex HR because the Dev team actually made the PC verison a PC game rather than a Console game ported to PC.

  • @gondule Only time choices mattered was at the end, you mean like the first Deus ex? Seriously play it again, same thing. Only difference it makes is small alterations in dialog, otherwise only thing that changes is the end. At least with IW it changed based on your actions, not just your very last choice.

Not trying to be difficult, just saying IW was very underrated and over-hated.

  • @gondule BTW the new one is a console game ported to PC. It's a cover based game, not kidding. not a bad thing, as long as your not one of those people that hates any game that's modern or new. Seriously look it up, it's a console game through and through. No pure PC game has a sticky cover system. The original simply let you control body movement and let you take cover however you felt you wanted to.

  • @videosfromderelix Nah I have the press demo and the guys actually took the time to make it worth while on the PC. I'm having a lot of fun at least they had the courtesy to bring back the awesome quick-bar and a the same inventory screen as the first. Wasn't looking foward to the game at all till I got my hands on it. THe cover is pointless actually only needed on harder difficulties and so far it feels closer to Deus Ex than Invisible war ever did (Too me) so i'm happy and content.

  • @gondule I am not saying it's not worth while on PC just that it clearly wasn't made for pc. It's kind of like how they did MW2 on console and PC but it was made for console first and foremost. Makes sense, you know a game will work in a PS3 or a 360 but people won't know if their pc can handle it unless they know their own system specs by heart or do the research before hand. Yes that's what the average consumer loves, to research things themselves.

I know I'll probably love it, just don't act

  • Cool music.

  • Nice music.

  • Wait so they substituted the individual body damage system with one full health bar? What the hell.

  • lol beat the shit out of these mofos with a police baton

  • I own the pc DE, but I'm probably going to buy this version because my computer sucks and just lags to hell when I'm in Hong kong

  • How was this over looked?

  • Along with Project Eden, Deus Ex is one of my favorite games. I've got sequel this for PC but my crappy old computer won't run it... Nice to hear that the PS2 version might satisfy my urge to play it... at least till I update my video card.

  • awsome thanks. i had no idea it was for ps2

  • such a great game =)

  • PS2 gamers generally stick to Japanese games, having been spoon fed by Japanese gamemakers. So when some entity called Eidos Interactive came out with a title which they can barely pronounce, PS2 gamers collectively went "hurgh?" "This no MGS." "MSG goood." "This health food... JUUUNK." So regardless of the many accolades Deus Ex had garnered on the PC and Mac, PS2 gamers simply passed up this game. It's not unusual, considering most PS2 games require you to switch off your brain.

  • @HuATTK

"PS2 gamers generally stick to japanese games" right...that's why GTA San Andreas a game developed by westerners became the best selling PS2 game ever

So when Eidos came out with a title which they can barely pronounce, PS2 gamers went uh?...the reason PS2 games skipped this one is because it had bad reviews and it was barely advertised.

most PS2 games require you to switch off your brain...right I'm sure the games on your console of choice require so much brainpower to play.

  • @DamonDoggXxX My console of choice is PC.

  • @HuATTK pc is great but technically not a console. plus with some people starting out with a windows 7 computer a chunk of older games are impossible to play unless you shell out even more cash for the more expensive versions of win 7 to get the emulator. this is a pain in the ass since my win xp gaming pc died and i was given a low end win 7 pc with 1 gb ram, one core GPU and old components so my pc gaming is crippled for now. i miss my old 90's pc shooters like jedi knight:dark forces 2.

  • @ferretlord2177 Games not playing on your PC has nothing to do with the version of W7 in your system. Unless it's Starter, but that comes only with netbooks. (TBH Starter should run them fine too.) Your problem prolly has to do with hardware dated 5 years back. Then no doubt, you need to upgrade that shit computer, for who'd want to game with PS2-grade hardware? New low end gaming PCs these days can be put together for < USD500. Granted, that's costlier than Xbox360, but it will game better.

  • I have this game on my PS2 but the load screen doesn't say loading, it's just a blue bar and a bigger picture. Also there's a comment that says their characters hand and weapon is less visible, not being able to see his copy, i feel my copy makes the hand less visible as well. I wonder if there was a slight tweaking going on between the NTSC version and the PAL ( european ) version?

  • i joined the deus ex world with the ps2 version, great memoires :)

  • I am playing it now, UNATCO just turned on me, I love it!

  • best game ive ever played... this and half life... gems

  • brings back memories i still have the game its just my ps2 is broken and too bad we cant play it on the ps3 that would be AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Danny21531 im also rebuying a ps2 to replace my broken one. the lack of backwards capability was a kick in the nuts to long time sony fans like myself. im just so bored with my ps3 and 360 because most of the games seem to be made to be played as rentals content and quality wise and most dont hold up for more than four months. im going to rent most of my current gen games for now on.

  • @ferretlord2177 i agree with you and for some reason all the games you play now fell the same ps2 never felt like that but yeah i got a 360 but stopped playing it infamous got boring to

  • So what are the main differences to the PS2 version and the PC version (Other then graphics)

  • @MrFraserFilms2009 Well, the PS2 port has a different health system (standard health bar instead of locational damage), simplified inventory (heavy, medium and light weapons/melee/consumables slots instead of an inventory grid), remastered music which is awesome, better character animations, some redesigned and stripped down level designs (most areas are cut up into smaller sections with loading screens inbetween). In some cases some of the optional ways to mission objectives have been removed.

  • @MrFraserFilms2009 No multiplayer.

  • No Fair, in this Deus Ex version when the guys get killed it looks like they're slumping. All deaths look same in PC :p

  • wow, it's amazing what ports can do to a system

  • Great post and play. I'm in Hell's Kitchen right now trying to find the generator.

  • i never heard about this one until i saw a preview for deus es: human revolution for the ps3....i don't get why he'd bring a police baton to a fire fight tho...

  • @Nonchalant82 That's the point. I brought a baton, because the game gives you the option to make your own moral choices. If I wanted to, i could go in guns blazing, and murder everyone, or you can choose to use non-lethal tactics. I was just showing off the ability to go non-lethal if you want to.

  • @teh2Dgamer You're already well past the last time the game ever checks whether you've been nonlethal or not

  • @teh2Dgamer i hate when people point to the choice of lethal or non-lethal takedowns in this game as an example of its moral ambiguity and the ability it gives you to make your choices. thatd be like saying the original super mario was full of moral choices cause you could jump on the enemies heads or just run past them. theres a shit ton of moral choices in this game, but using a baton isnt one of them. its just a preference.

  • @teh2Dgamer

    OPTION TO BE NONLETHAL.

    BE LETHAL ANYWAYS.

  • @teh2Dgamer

Non-lethal my ass. I saw where you whipped out the machine gun there towards the end.

  • @Nonchalant82 PLUS, u can also sneak behind enemies b4 taking them out NON - lethally or pass by when u have the chance. According to the maual, u can score high points by using stealth, compared to blazing in with guns.

  • 3:06 epic win

  • I bought this game for £2 at cash converters and i was one lucky bastard to get it so cheap. This was one of my fave games of all time when i had it at 17 and 6 years on when i played it once again it is still an awesome game. Invisible war on xbox has not got shit on this masterpiece x)

  • I could never play this on the PS2, being used to playing it with the PC, I mean, using the augmentations must be kinda hard?

  • @LufsyLurqy It's not really that hard. They streamlined it for controller use. The PS2 version also supports the use of a USB keyboard and mouse for play.

  • @teh2Dgamer Well, maybe I could play it with the PS2 with a keyboard and mouse, but still, playing with the PS2 controller would be weird to me, the game has auto aim if I recall correctly and not being able to aim properly in this game would just be akward, I can't really explain why.

  • @LufsyLurqy I'm not sure, but you may be able to turn auto aim off in the options somewhere. Maybe, I don't fully remember though.

  • @teh2Dgamer But that doesn't make the aiming better! Please, forget that I ever said anything. Ever.

  • @LufsyLurqy It wold make the aiming with the mouse better because you wouldn't need auto aim when using a mouse. The game still plays great with the controller as well. They put some thought into this port.

  • @teh2Dgamer really? any other console games you know of have keyboard and mouse support too? thats a cool option.

  • EXELENT MUSIC :D

  • 2D, are you gonna get the new Deus Ex that's coming out next year?

  • @hl202 I'm kinda on the fence about it. We'll see assuming they don't screw it up.

  • BTW, that was an awesome bitchslap at 3:07.

  • People are much too hard on the PS2 version of this game. Sure, the PC version is better overall, but this one isn't that far behind. It's got its own special charm as a faithful port of one of the best games ever made.

  • I really hate the loading screens for this game but I like the graphics in the ps2 better. I wish they ported this version to the pc.

  • @onexero1 There are tons of mods for Deus Ex PC, and some that enhance the resolution and textures. Just look on MODDB.

  • Too bad the port cut the levels in half, created a clunky interface, and didn't really scale well in the graphical department.. given, the models and animations were updated, and the pre-rendered cutscenes were a new and interesting addition, where in-game cutscenes would have probably hurt the game more, I would think that 'NOW-A-DAYS' were they to make a port of the first, in the sense of a remake, adding more to it.. like for instance, a fully realized Liberty Island ;)

  • Deus Ex is indeed a great game, but you should probably stick to showing games that are actually underrated on a series showing underrated games.

  • @godzizzle The PS2 version is underrated amongst PS2 owners. The port is underrated, and overlooked amongst PS2 gamers.

  • @teh2Dgamer

I agree with you man, this game (among other ps2 games) is one of my most prized posessions. even coming across this game at your local gamestop is veeeeeery uncommon. I have played and beaten both the PC and PS2 versions of this game and I gotta say it is a great port unique in its own way. and yes this port is very, underrated. and I agree with "ookthomas" comment. you certainly picked a good part of the game to showcase it's greatness. this is one of my favorite parts.

  • i got this game on pc and no matter how many times i complete it, i always wana start new game and play it again.

  • I have this, but have not played it yet.Looks totally different from deus ex:Invisable war on X-Box!

  • one of the best games ever easily

  • But Deus Ex made game of the year I wouldn't say it's that underrated...

  • @prettycolors2 Yes, it is. But the PS2 version only.

  • Holy crap, you can zoom in on the PS2 version?! I beat that version four times and never knew (since used games don't have manuals). There was a lot of loading since the levels were cut into tiny chunks for the PS2, so I don't know if I would have the patience to go back, but it was worth it.

  • I remember my first contact to this holy grail... I was 12 or 13. I was reading some gaming magazine and noticed this game on review, it scored uhmm, 95/100 pts. i was very excited about this game and went to local mall, then i saw it there, right at 50% off discountboxthingy. since then, its have been my favourite game. Got pc version too, but im terrible at pc-games. Srry my bad english :)

  • lol soda healing, never think of that.

  • i have one funny fact at myself: i think this game is better than COD4

  • @brycelancer COD4 is awesome but no game can be compared to Deus Ex

  • @thementalpatient2005 exactly.

  • You play this game sooooooo sloppy in this video! But I forgive you because it shows you have played it many times over, like me :). This game is like good whiskey. Thanks for sharing this ps2 version video.

  • @ookthomas I've got 10 minutes to show the game off in the vid, so I didn't care to be stealthy. Plus, there's no such thing as playing sloppy, because this game is for you to play however you want to play it.

  • @teh2Dgamer You're right. The first time I played it 10 years ago, I was extremely stealthy and cautious. This game holds great suspense, but when you KNOW the game, it's still fun.

  • @ookthomas Well, I'm just saying that the 10 minute time limit on the vid meant that I had to hurry up with my playing, so I couldn't be as cautious as I normally would.

  • i completed this not too long ago on PS2, great game.

these days developers claim their games offer choice in terms of story and gameplay. but nothing even comes close to this. the levels where designed perfectly alowing for anything, from sniping, stealth, hacking, lock picking, multiple routes. it had issues, maybe it was a little bit TOO ambition for it's time. but now a days the closest thing to this is maybe mass effect, and it doesnt come close to offering these sorts of gameplay choices

  • ... underrated? this was a mile stone

  • The nano sword is a very welcomed change of power in the melee department.

  • This is still complete and utter shit compared to the PC version.

  • There are obvious shortcomings with this version but it's Deus Ex and it's still a wonderful (and slightly different) experience that I enjoyed completing a second time on the PS2, great vid.

  • I have this game for both ps2 and pc and I gotta say they are exactly the same apart from level design and key layout (obviously) Deus Ex for ps2 is in it's own an amazing game

  • @GrayFoxUA how are they different I would like to know, thinking about getting it

  • @IGNsucks Deus Ex for ps2 is mostly if not entirely just like Deus Ex for pc at it's core. The inventory has been completely remade to fit the ps2 controls and they are pretty comfortable. The graphics is better, the story thankfully is left the same with the exact same amount of levels as on the pc version. They are almost identical. The ps2 version is worth getting if you have a ps2. Quite cheap to pick up. I think it took me the same time to complete as the one on pc

  • @GrayFoxUA yeah i was leaning for the ps2 cause i despise the kb and mouse so ps2 it is.

  • loved it got it 9

  • Does this version feature the horribly overpowered energy sword like the PC version? Lol. As soon as you get that thing it's like turning on easy mode, even with no melee skill. Also, great videos.

  • @ice44567 Yep, but I love that sword. It's so fun to use.
