  • "Drip irrigation could be implemented on many of California's crops and would save considerable water. I've heard from some farmers that such an idea is ridiculous; maybe so, but establishing a major growing industry in the middle of a desert is just as ridiculous." Conservation would be a good investment that would pay for itself and create jobs. Why isn't that an option?

  • The truth is, this is not about the fish and it's not about the farmers. If your really interested in what California's water issues are all about, follow the money, it's water exporters... If any of the politicians really wanted to 'fix' the problem, they would explain that there is enough water for both. Investment should be made in water conservation and reuse in agriculture.

  • Couldn't they breed the fish to be use as pets and possibly my favorite bait since they are endangered species wouldn't it make more since to do that? I am a fisherman on the east coast and have a saltwater aquarium full of different species of saltwater fish that got at a local pet shop

  • blunt, typical FAT WHITE RACIST.....the GOP BASE

  • @TKDMike58 Sir, with all due respect, this issue has nothing to do with parties or race. Mr.Nunes is fighting to save you and "all" Americans, as am I. People are scared. Our valley and people have suffered unbelievably. Valley residents of every race have gone hungry and have lost their homes and jobs. I live here, I've seen it first hand. Please help us, not as a Democrat, but as an American. Mr Nunes is all that we have between us and complete collapse. Forget his party and help him. Please.

  • part2. If the irrigation water is turned off to prime farmland, the crops will whither away and die. If this is done for more than two years, the farming economy will collapse. The banks will foreclose.Property and Farmland values will collapse. Investors will swoop in and buy up prime farmland and real estate for pennies on the dollar .I've heard tell that a California Senator's husband did just this. Also busloads of "rich" Chinese businessmen...

  • A fish, cost 40,000 innocent Californians, their homes, jobs, farms, water, land,& businesses? A fish caused the economic collapse of California, the 9th largest economy in the world? Sounds a little "fishy"? Look up,"Global land grab","Global water grab"and note the parallel time line. "farmland grab dot org. global food shortages. He who controls the land, food,& water...think, look very deep, open your eyes. What's happening in California is happening globally. with farmland and water grabs.
