Unless they inspect everyone (all 500,000 people that ride Metro every day) at each entry point into the system, this is a useless bit of "security."

"It can start at anytime, at any station." Ridiculous. I, also, heard Metro Pirate Chief saying they will do it at metro buses stop. Why don't we use that money being WASTED on actually fixing the metro and its escalators?! Soon our state will be just like Arizona and we will have roadblocks. They are taking our so called "freedom" away little by little. We have to do something about this. Protest!

The Fourth Amendment (Amendment IV) to the United States Constitution is the part of the Bill of Rights which guards against unreasonable searches and seizures. The amendment specifically also requires search and arrest warrants be judicially sanctioned and supported by probable cause. MEANING: You can LEGALLY Refuse searches without Warrants! I smell lawsuits, moral decay and corruption.

you wont stop terrorists unless you check all bags all the time and that will drive the cost of mass transit so high that the public won't be able to afford it. Also a terrorist could circumvent security in any number of ways, this is just part of our slide into a police state.

OMG whatever happened to innocent until prooven guilty in a court of law. I mean, there's not even a hint of an "attack" and yet these people are willing to allow the government to search them without a warrant signed by a judge. Whatever happened to "probable cause". Do these people think it will stop there? Where is the outrage? Where is the American Spirit that made this country in the first place...A FREE country where people are free to succeed or fail based on their own merits.
