Love the 70's era Isley records. They didn't miss a step adapting to the funk era, did they? It was particularly an inspired idea to not only bring Ernie into the group, but to give him plenty of room to solo. Definitely one of the more underrated guitarists of that era.
i remember this song from back when i was little bitty kid... see ur older brothers sister and their friends would come over and bring there records and you would sit there with a pepsi and listen and watch them dance and act fool all summer night long. they would always use the little kids as back ups like the pips or tito ! lol no cussing, fighting or shooting.... i miss those days.
sounds like good times, chief. i'm from the north of england, and probably a seemingly totally different background from you, but maybe not so much on closer inspection.
the days you're describing are when people in europe had respect and liking for people and culture in the usa. how did it get to the situation where u let the money men and voracious capitalists bastardise your and our culture and society so much?
eanest isley was 1 of the best heavy metal guiarisists ever to walk the planet.listen to 3+3 and that is a rock album.taught young jimmy james to play,
respectfully disagree with the comments about never making music like this... Im 26, love my 'older' stuff more than anything, but there are a hell of a lot of great bands and singer song writers out there, as emotive as these guys - its just hidden by a huge amount of rubbish!
@oarsome4 Fuckin heard ye man, music that moves you come,s from every genre. Then again you got clowns here callin the Isley Brothers assholes?Sheeeeiiiittt man, whats that all about.
@marcoborota What does it matter if they remade this song? And why would you call them assholes? Plenty of artists remake songs. Are you gonna comment on every one of them?
my favourite song of all time. saw them in bristol in mid 90's - waited ages for them to arrive in their tour bus - when they did - what a disappointment - ron isley couldn't be bothered giving autographs, and had no time at all to speak to the handful of waiting fans. Thank goodness for marvin isley who had time for an autograph and a photo.
wow what a contrast! An amazing cover, I mean, this is the core of why you cover something, get the whole thing and then take it someplace new. Dare I say better? Whatever, it's fantastic..and yet an entire audience that can't dance...so pathetic! Such an inspired beautiful funky tune and the entire audience can't dance. Too funny, fire the producer - cut away, cut away!

lmaoooo! these folks are bumping.i got to learn the elbow throwing dance the brother in the cream is doing. and he got the Junebug Spade chains on.Classic! but these boys were it!
That was KILLER! Ernie Isley is right up there with Jimi Hendrix, Dave Gilmour, Ritchie Blackmore Yngwie Malmsteen and Robin Trower in terms of making a frnder strat sound very damn good!
I know I'm only 21 and young, but the summer I graduated I met the love of my life, and we listen to this song in his car, just looking into each other eyes while it was raining. Now everytime I hear this song I think of that night...;-)
One of the best bands in music history EASY!! And Ernie Isley one of the best and underrated guitarist of all time! Check his shit out on"who's that lady" and you'll definitely feel me.
Look at them..Rudolph's stiff azz thought he could dance with his cool azz. Those my boys and I just love 'em...I co-sign with below, this is a classic live performance on Soul Train. Not many could do live for Don C.
This is a true concert on Soul Train from true legends. Don must've loved the Isleys because he rarely let anyone perform live on the show but the Stevie and James Brown and Curtis Mayfield or other great cats like that. LOVE THIS!
Check out Rudolph. The boy can party. What happened to the Music ? It's a shame that when these artist are gone, we will never get this kinda music again. All we will have is what they left behind.
i remember being 16 yes old when a young man wanted to impress me, so he started singing this to me, well my head was spinning but my Father being in the house and heard it wasn't :) ohhh the days of youth....Lady L.

sorry if it sounds like criticism, but you are probably so much subject to the propaganda over there that what i'm saying doesn't make sense perhaps.
either way, the working classes - i.e. 90 per cent of society should stick together and enjoy a pleasanter, simpler life.
they got rid of mubarack and gadaffi, didn't they?
hope you're well over there
take care
