After reading some of the comments here, it seems to many that the trance gods themselves (Tiësto, Armin and PvD) may have given up on trance. It certainly started looking that way to me right around 2006-08. But while there is still real trance out there (old, new or legendary, whether from the Big 3 or anyone else), I won't give up on trance.

@adamalada1 nice!! I was more of a jungle and techno kid but also loved Ferry. if you're feeling the dnb definitely definitely go back in time and check out hype's earlier sets. I mean, he started DJing on pirate radios in like 87 or 88 (whoa!) and throughout the mid to late 90s and early 2000s he was TOTALLY killing it. I highly recommend his Mixmag Live! set from 2000, his FabricLive set from 2002, and well, pretty much any mix he ever made between 1994 and 2000. Brilliant on the dex! Peace!

@clubhappybest I think it is a result of how bad trance went that i fell for Dnb - saw Andy c and subfocus in Sydney recently, and Noisia are here in jan so keen for that! Ferry is and always will be amazing - saw him at gatecrasher week in week out back on 98-02... will never sell out like armin and tiesto. Just scoped out a few old sets - on the download now mate i'll let you know!

@whatthefuck4968 They were both trance producers, and with subsequent success have BOTH become sell-outs to house music. It's just that house music is more main-stream, and little girls in clubs can giggle and grab their friend's arm and rush to the dance floor when their songs come on. I still listen to new trance producers, but they are no where near popular. This is sad because I hear some really good stuff and with the trance movement dying these artists never become recognized.

My friends just went to an AVb concert in D.C. and said that the majority of his music is still trance (even if it is other people's tracks).
