  • Super Song, she sings this song in German too, i like both Version

  • The television series, with John Conte, was produced in 1958 and 1959 at Associated British Studios near London.

The executive director was Duke Goldstone (George Pal Puppetoons): the series producer was Harry Alan Towers (Hammer horror films).

  • If only the girls i know today were this charming, where has beauty in personality gone? it is so rare these days

  • She is Gorgeous...I love the little dance move...

  • Amazing Pétula !!!!

Singing Saint Tropez in USA during the fifthies is so so awesome !!!

Pétula I know you speak french very well 'cause you married a french guy, so i tell you :

Pétula je t'adore, tu viens quand tu veux en Provence et à Saint Tropez !!!!

    Ce village c'est le tien...............

  • This is really old back when women knew how to dress, Petula got a lot better but womens clothes didn't

  • yep. jacbar39 is totally correct

    petula is real

  • a lovely girl, with a lovely voice, wearing a lovely dress, who somehow manages to be sexy and alluring without screeching " oh baby, oh baby " ad nauseum and rolling around on the floor. a lesson for every "singer" in the business today. and a lesson for the culture at large, i think.

  • Thanks littleshoemaker.

  • Thats not Sean Connery is it?

  • That is John Conte, an actor and singer (1915-2006) who hosted this show, "Mantovani," a syndicated musical series which ran 39 episodes from - as davie12 nailed it - 1958 to 1959. Conte was no relation to Richard Conte, the actor who played Don Barzini in "The Godfather."

  • I've not heard the French version, but I'd love to. I agree that the German version is fantastic. Judging by the hairstyle and the frock, Shoemaker, I'd say that 1958/59 would be a fair guess of when this was broadcast.

  • the french version exist too !!!

  • She sang that version much faster than the original studio version - Also love her german version of that song

Thank's for all the joy you bring Pet!!!

  • Yep, you're right... Thank you Pet. That was delightful. Love the frock too!!
