@CCM336 I'm a trained artist, and I can tell that his sound is quite shaky and very uncontrollable. What he needs to work on is tone quality and smooth out his sound. His voice was too dull and there's a tremolo creeping up on him at the start of every line. But yes, compared to the lot in this video, he "wasn't actually that bad."

I can't stand on Idol how contestants always say "I'm good because I can hit the high notes." ANY IDIOT can squeak out high notes!!!!! It's not about hitting them, it's about making them sound good. I remember Nick Zitzmann (freaky Unchained Melody guy from Midvale, Utah, which is IN the Salt Lake Area) being flabbergasted about his rejection after his audition, and saying "I hit the high parts!" Yes, Nick, you did, but you sounded like Andre the Giant having his nuts stomped on.
