@EuanRams no, you only need spring compressors if your removing the spring from the strut. installing coilovers is pretty straight forward and you need nothing more than a jack and a socket set.

Have you done track use on the suspension ?? And yea to the dude that went with Megan I did some r&d with them for time attack .. And there shit didn't last a month on the track :( ... Now I'm doing r&d for Godspeed .. Want to kno wat I'm getting into ??
Personally ive had bad experience with these. I got two blown coil-overs withing 8 months without harsh use. Now im using megans and feel much stronger. Gdspd makes good non moving parts, i think thats about it.
@SubSonicSlapz so far so good. Also, sorry to inform you but megans are NO step up at all.......that shit is just as bad. Its all budget suspension parts but as long as they work, like these still do, then there is no problem.

I've ridden in an s13 with Godspeed coilovers and they were great. And I have JIC Magic's on mine. I'm just not brainwashed into pledging allegiance to certain brands and hating others COMPLETELY based on here-say like a lot of keyboard warriors are.
Also, driven/drifted some with CXRacing and Megan Street/Tracks. All felt great and performed excellent. No need for all the hate up in here.

yes there are better and worse coil overs... but if they are only being used on a daily driver and wont see the track, then a cheaper set with suffice with no down fall. all i would say is make sure you buy locally with a warranty and have them fitted professionally so you can do something if they leak or fail. check proper reviews on the product, not you tube comments! spend the extra $ if your going to the track.
ok I got a question I really need answered. I got a third generation eclipse. I want to lower the car for the wheels I am adding. when you use lowering spring is there anything you have to add to make the ride right. do coilovers need aftermarket struts?
@TheShootTruth10 you really should use a lowered shock or strut when lowering with springs, you can use a normal shock or strut with lowered springs but they will wear out faster because they are operating more outside of the nominal range. main advantage for springs is cost over coil overs. a quality spring and shock set will be a good ride, usually smoother than a coil over setup.
coilovers don't need anything else to be installed, they replace the whole unit (spring/shock/strut)
@TheShootTruth10 coilovers are a better choice if the cost is not an issue, they allow (depending on the ones you buy) height, damper, camber adjustments while set springs do not. you also have a better choice for spring rates with coil overs. they are more suitable for track oriented cars.

yeah way to rock that chinese knock off shit. i bought some godspeed tension rods, worst excuse for aftermarket suspension i've ever experienced. rode like shit, loud as hell over bumps, felt like someone took a hammer to the control arm every time i went over a bump. i can't even imagine what the coilovers would feel like.

how long did the install take? man i wish i knew some one that had a shop with lifts and impact guns. it probably would have took me 1 hour instead of 5 hours to put some lowering springs in my car. i did it in my drive way.

The guy bought them last summer from a local place called jdm for his project car and he never got it running and just sold it and decided to sell the coilovers too so I'm pretty happy about that!

@skatechocolate69 Sorry man just got back from mexico! Yeah it isn't bad at all I live up in Canada and yeah I picked them up before I left, installed them in a night and they're pretty awesome! The car is definitely a lot lower especially in the front and it's a lot more stiffer and the handing is amazing with them definitely worth $250!

@skatechocolate69 Well the stock 240 height is really really high in the front so there's actually quite a big drop but it's still not slammed it's perfect! I don't have an lsd but even with putting down power there's a huge difference. For example if I was stopped at a light, start driving, punch the gas, take it to redline then rip it in to 2nd quick the tires might chirp for a quick bit but now they get so much more power they squeal for like 2 seconds and I can actually smell the rubber!

@Skaterrocker842 none under 1k. the only non-shit brand u can get for under a grand is tein basic, but they don't come w/mounts. get some stance gr+ will put u a little over 1k (and well worth it). u should just get kyb agx adjustable struts and some tein lowering springs if ur on a tight budget. how much are you trying to drop it, and what other suspension are you riding on?

I don't know, I don't even have a 240 yet I am trying to get an estimate of how much I will be spending. I want to spend less than 10k on everything that I want.

So highend coils are known to have better provision dampering forces which make a ride stiffer and smoother for track purposes they also have better features like blow-off-valve system which allows large bumps/ impacts to go by without upsetting the car so yeas prices justify their QUALITY=safer

@Koukigreen when i say stiffer and smoother i speak of that of the adjustable dampering....thers a difference between 32-way adjustable and 8-way adjustable...theres a difference in camber plates and having none..theres a differences in monotube shocks and twin-tube within the struct...theres a differences in a real function coilovers as the OHLINS and something like Teins or megans

how long did the install take? man i wish i knew some one that had a shop with lifts and impact guns. it probably would have took me 1 hour instead of 5 hours to put some lowering springs in my car. i did it in my drive way.

@skatechocolate69 Nope the coilover is the whole suspension just pop off the shocks and struts and pop on the coilovers and you're good to go!

@skatechocolate69 Yeah good idea haha I wish I had the dual but I'm actually pretty happy with the single it still packs some power! All I have is an exhaust and I'm slightly faster than my friends 03 mazdaspeed protege running 185hp. The torque in ka's are just crazy!

@skatechocolate69 Yeah I think she has about 207k kms so almost 130k miles. Yeah they're used but supposedly in perfect condition. The guy bought them last summer from a local place called jdm for his project car and he never got it running and just sold it and decided to sell the coilovers too so I'm pretty happy about that!

@skatechocolate69 Sorry man just got back from mexico! Yeah it isn't bad at all I live up in Canada and yeah I picked them up before I left, installed them in a night and they're pretty awesome! The car is definitely a lot lower especially in the front and it's a lot more stiffer and the handing is amazing with them definitely worth $250!

@skatechocolate69 Well the stock 240 height is really really high in the front so there's actually quite a big drop but it's still not slammed it's perfect! I don't have an lsd but even with putting down power there's a huge difference. For example if I was stopped at a light, start driving, punch the gas, take it to redline then rip it in to 2nd quick the tires might chirp for a quick bit but now they get so much more power they squeal for like 2 seconds and I can actually smell the rubber!
