@SavannahEatsMailMen This is a tutorial, regardless if it's for a purpose or for practice, it's for other people to learn & gain skill using gimp. & as for the placement of the piercing, it doesn't matter, there is no specific area for the jewelry to be placed. Plus, you're no expert, so get off if you're not gonna appreciate.

@SavannahEatsMailMen there's no shame in fake piercings.... i wear fake lip-rings all the time. Why? Because, I'm smart. Of course I'd LOVE to get a real one, but 1: my parents would flip and ground me til' I'm 18. I know, cause they said. and 2: MOST jobs don't allow you to have facial piercings... Therefor fake ones are a great alternative, plus if you ever decide you don't wanna lip-ring anymore, just pop it out, and you don't have to worry about the healing, or if the hole will ever go away.

how do you get the shadow underneath the ring? i tried different layers but it either doesn't make the shadow on the lip or it just darkens the ring itself.

@eddytholland You're supposed to merge that layer down, then use the burn tool to make the shadow underneath the piercing.

Evereyone, I think you're supposed to go to edit, and then on the bottom there's something that says clear. Then it only leaves the selected part. That's what I did. Hope I helped!
