  • "Alright" said Fred "Have to take the door off"!

  • Wow, Wilf clearly loves him so much, he admires all the potential and adventure he holds. Even when Doc repeatedly warns him that his own daughter will die if they meet, all Wilf keeps thinking about is that Doc is lonely and Donna can cure his loneliness. He wants to see him happy again, and give both him and Donna so much happiness back that they've both lost. That's love.

  • david had me bawling this whole episode.. he just conveyed his despair and loss so well. wilfred made me just sob saying he'd be proud if the doctor was his son. gosh i lose it

  • This is one of those scenes where I ask myself why the heck I like this stupid show. It's just so tragic.

    ...oh yeah, and brilliant.

    "What's GOOD about sad?"

    "It's happy for deep people."

  • David Tennant breaks my heart so much. :(

  • He can convey such emotion... it makes me sad to see him sad.

  • and the doctor begins to darken, think about it, first the time lord victorious, then this, he doom his entire race to burn, without even weeping, (even the fourth doctor couldn't kill the daleks) 11 regrets saving the earth instead of killing the daleks, later we have the dream lord, i think this is slowly building up to The Vailgaurd (or something) who was "somewhere between his 12th and 13th regenerations" only 2 (or one counting journey's end) before the doctor is evil

  • @doctorwhom1 theres no way they'll make him evil =/ hes the doctor...such a long tv series they cant just make him evil like that...and i dont think the writters would want to..i think its just them showing how the timewar changed him a bit, when he came back as the 9th doctor he was a bit darker but then he started getting better after meeting rose then even more after martha then donna as a best friend :)

  • This was a terrible 2 part story but i have to admit to lving that scene. one of the very decent things that could be said about it. Not the exit that Tennant deserved but it was great to see Bernard Cribbens again as Wilfred Mott. One of the best characters RTD produced.

  • "I'm going to die."

"What? So am I one day."

    "Don't you dare."

    "Alright I'll try not to"

    Nice little moment :)

  • Can you imagine the reaction of someone sitting within earshot of these two? David- You are my Doctor, now and for ever. Miss you. Love this scene so much even though it breaks my heart.

  • God, that whole story was amazing... Breaks my heart when the Doc cries... And the regeneration! "I don't want to go" just broke my heart... David Tennant really is an amazing actor, he really made the Doc come alive.. Haven't seen Matt Smith (yet!), but I think he'll be good :)

  • i just started crying when the doctor did!!!

  • @bellalysewinchester ... so did I :'( and I never cry at tv shows :O I loved the tenth doctor so much!

  • Yeah, he needed her. Oh, Doctor Donna. Gets me every time. Thanks for loading this! <3

  • That's such a great scene.

  • Wilfred...

    It's my honor.

  • Great acting here by both actors. However, it does annoy me how regeneration has suddenly become a death! It is not a death, just a change. This was the thinking behind this scene 'Hmm, we know how popular the 10th doctor is so what we should do is milk it for what its worth and tug at the heartstrings and make everyone cry'. All previous Dr's have never described it as a death and all have accepted their fate. Tennant deserved a better sending off

  • Tennant was one of the best Doctor's to ever grace the role. Now we have Odd faced Matt Smith with his lame one liners and terrible dress sense. Awesome scene btw, could tell the emotions were real!

  • @SEQUENCEEE - 'lame one liners and terrible dress sense'? Really? That's your critique? He's the Doctor, and the suspender briefs, bow-tie and jacket all tie into a plot reaching far beyond 'one liners'. Actually, Russell Davies is all about the one liners, and they can be fun. Moffat has gone beyond to create a 13 episode arc of a single story. That single story has fantastic stand-alone episodes too. You're entitled to your opinion but it's as good as it ever has been. :)

  • @dojosage Fair enough. That's your opinion and as you said you're entitled to it too. I personally prefered Tennant / Christopher over Matt Smith anyday of the week. I also don't like the way they changed the entire feel and format of doctor who. Just feels too playschool and boring. :(

  • @dojosage I respectfully disagree. I disliked the whole new season. Although Matt has some redeeming qualities, and quirks that are endearing, he doesn't come close to Tennant. I don't feel the connection or respect for 11 that I do for most of his predecessors and the terribleness of the new season can be summed up in one scene: Power Ranger Daleks. I burst out laughing and NOT in a good way. I've fantasized about clubbing Moffat.

  • Only Wilfred Mott could be get away with being (sort of) the reason why the doctor has to regenerate. Look at his face! It makes me cry :(

  • DOCTOW NEEDS A HUG!!!!!!

  • the story of the doctor is so sad... just heartbreaking...

  • Wilf: Well Whats So Important About Me?

Well It Wouldn't By Any Chance Be Your The Person Who Will Lead Him To His Death

  • Comment removed

  • And the saddest thing about this is "he" as in "He will knock four times" is Wilf.

  • @jimnny2 Don't spoil it for everybody!

  • @Joshua5003 I'm pretty sure most Doctor Who fans have seen this.

  • @jimnny2 Yeah, but then there were a lot that haven't.

  • when he cries, I cry. and this was just so hard to watch! *sob* I love David Tennant so much and the End of Time hurt like a bullet. 1,000 bullets.

  • i just want to hug him :(

  • when he starts cryng I explode in tears and my little brothers watched my like "what the hell is wrong with you?"... David Tennant was just the best doctor EVAH.

  • its actors like david tennant that make the unbelievable believable. what a great scene from two of britains greatest. love it :-)

  • that is just a stab in the heart...

  • he looks soooooo sad :(

  • heart = broken

  • u can tell that he needs sum 1 cause of the little nod 3:59

  • This episode is very touching. It shows that the Doctor is VERY alone and needs sum1 although with the prophecy getting to him and how nothing is going right for him. I miss DT alot but MS is just as good as he is.

  • Tennant was brilliant but Matt Smiths as brilliant. the scene in the Big Bang when he talks to little Amy was as emotional as this. miss DT but Matt's stepped up and done really well

  • hm as much as i liked DT his doctor was too human

  • This scene was completely gut wrenching. The emotion was so raw between the two of them. I have enjoyed the new series and Matt Smith but re-watching scenes like this just makes me miss David Tennant so much =[

  • The Doctor cries ==> I die a little on the inside ='(

  • I do like Matt Smith but Tennant has the edge. Still miss him. Not the same without him. Feels like a different show.

  • one thing i notice is that donna has a thing for black guys =) i mean look at her first fiancee in runaway bride and her "husband" in forest of the dead or the other ep i never remember which comes first and now this one....... i notice it at random in one of my thinking days and i wanted to make the observation =)

  • Argetlambgirl711, so true. I never knew peoples bottom lip actually trembled till I saw this.

  • Thank you so much for posting this-got to be one of the cutest David tennant scenes ever. Don't u dare at 52, so sad. Made me realise that Matt smith's not half as good an actor.

  • the little pout at 1:44 makes me sad. ♥

  • I bet he was going to say 'I need somebody to stop me' - and cried because it reminded him of his time with Donna.

  • David was a brilliant doctor and so is matt they are both good

  • @ThumbsTheGamer, both :)

  • david tennant and the acting in this is so much better compared to matt smith, arsehole

  • @TheSILENTGAMERZ Are you a Tennant fan or a Doctor who fan?

  • im going to miss daivd tennant

  • i was greatin myself when he started crying sniiiiiiiffffff

  • I hated "The End of Time" but I have to confess to enjoying that little scene between Wilfred and the Doctor. Tennant and Cribbens are both wonderfully matched in that scene. The chemistry between the two of them was sublime. I don't know I liked some of the more spiritual aspects of the story which are suggested but overall a nice little moment. Shame the rest of the episode was so bad.

  • The Doctor doesn't cry! It breaks my heart when he cries!

  • don't you touch THIS car lol

  • David was so scred of dying in this episode, especially around 1:38 where he explains that regeneration is not just change and everything is ok - you actually feel like your dying :(....oh David!..... David was 'THE' Doctor! (Y)

  • Aww man... there'll never be another Doctor like David. *sobs* that was insanely beautiful and gut-wrenching. Gahh, freaking Cribbins always makes me cry. CURSE YOU BERNARD!!! CURSE YOOOOUU!

anywhoo, i think the change is refreshing. Ten was just becomin this big dark blob of depression (albeit a gorgeous and beautifully acted one).

Hopefully, Eleven will be a bit more light-spirited.

But he still won't measure up to Tennant in my heart. :)

  • @argetlamgirl711 Completely agreed, you summed up everything i was thinking, although i still wish david would stay he is my doctor now and forever i've seen most of the previous doctors and many of them i love, but nothing compared with 10. DT <3

  • 1:25 sounds like an slower instrumental version of the end of Vale Decem =(

  • tears. that is the most heartwrenching scene ever!

  • My goodness, I'm getting chills. These two are such brilliant actors.

  • What a fantastic actor David is.

  • I love the 10th Doctor & Wilf. I cried so hard from when Wilf was stuck in that radiation chamber & the Doctor had to save him up to the end of the episode.

  • When the Doctor says 'I need' and then breaks down.. maybe he was gona say 'rose'?!?!?

  • That would be hilarious.

  • That would be awful.

  • I think he just needs someone- rose or martha or donna or even the master. just someone. bc he really does screw up on his own.

  • Must have full eppie!!!!!!!! I missed it 'cause I don't have cable

  • Oh god, it brakes my heart everytime i'm watching the cafe scene :-(

  • Poor Ten...

Poor David I don't know what happend that gived him insperation to that scene...

I won't be suprised if he actually cryed while doing that scene that extra sound added to the voice that hints that he gonna cry (3:23-3:27) is really hard to do not naturally

  • I felt the same way, when I watched it for the first time, my gut was telling me , these were real emotions about leaving the show, and that scene brought them to the surface, the way he covered his face and looked away, that seemed so real to me. And if he was "acting" it was superb!!!

  • i can't watch it again coz it's breaking my heart and i just want to cry again

  • Great clip, and sure will miss him

  • Amazing scene! :D

  • common dr its not that hard to find u ur mostly found in london and cardiff

  • Every time he cries I just want to give him a hug!

    ''sniff''

    I love Wilfred though, he's awesome :D

  • One of the best scenes in Doctor Who history. Its set out so well, its basically two old men talking about mortality. I love Wilf's line, "I'll try not to" because he means it. I'm gonna miss RTD's writing, but I can't wait to see what SM has to show =)

  • Possibly the best scene RTD ever wrote for the series. Magic!

  • Wilfred rocks! "And me with my paint gun, *dup*" :L

  • @StanleyKSCBP wait, i dont remember wilfred with a paintgun? Was it in an episode or he just randomly said it. :S confused

  • it was in "stolen earth", I think. or journey's end, not sure.

  • the end of time part one

  • In the Stolen Earth. Ep 2 series 4

  • Ep 12 sorry

  • He used the paintgun to shoot a Dalek in the eyestalk, but I think then it disolved the paint somehow.

  • I just can't stand it when he cries.

  • @bananas1and2 I know it's so freakin' sad.. The Doctor hardly ever shows how he really feels inside but when he does it's so painful :(

  • this scene made me feel really bad for him.... had to convince myself it wasn't real. hah i love you david :)

  • 0:45

  • "Dont you touch this car!"

    lmao I love Donna! :*(

  • haha. guess what my name is. :-)

  • Aaah, Bernard Cribbins. He makes you feel warm, and his performance in the special was nothing short of emotional. :) What a hero!

  • this has to be the best scene in the first part, so good!

  • This is my favorite scene from the episode; it makes me tear up every time. David Tennant and Bernard Cribbins are legends!

  • this scene made me think of his 9th form (chris eccleston) and how hes dead. and then this 10th one (dave tennant) starts crying after experiences of loneliness and death (himself, including his companions and other friends). that reduced me down to tears; i couldnt speak for an hour after watching this scene.

  • This scene made me think of the 2005 CiN special. Seriously. Go watch that again and explain how what the Doctor says here about regeneration makes any sense at all.

Tennant deserved a great send off, and got a great send off... but RTD trying to turn regeneration into death was really selfish of him.

  • @Ulicus Personally, I thought the "regeneration as death" angle was a bit of excellent character development. Last time he changed, the Doctor had Rose to remind him of who he was, which made the process infinitely easier. But this time he was alone -- and going a bit mad, the poor thing, which is why he had a darker view of regeneration than we saw in his previous incarnations.

  • lol i love davids little put after he says "im dead"

    ill miss david

  • I watched this scene over at least 4 times the first time I saw it and just added another 3 viewings. Just guts me, the emotion is so powerful. Wonderful!

  • God this part scares me for david i have a bad feeling :c

  • I think this is my favorite Doctor Who scene in the whole series.

  • i think this scene is fantastic and i really wanted it on my playlists, i knew i would find it on your excellent channel.....Thanks !!

  • This scene floored me.

No, I didn't cry: I'm not the crying sort... but I did feel hollow and stunned by the Doctor's revelation of vulnerability. The script and performances were perfect.

The performances are particularly worthy of comment - do you have to have felt that sense of desolation (as exhibited by the Doctor/Tennant) to be able to perform it? If so, WOW: what has Tennant been thru?

  • ach, so wonderful with the vulnerability, which is more intense than anything we've seen on Ten to date. He's finally not just energy and passion, he's contemplative and just is. aw.

  • *cries*

  • i love this scene!! i ball everytime

  • I just watched this scene and i got so choked up, both when he says 'everything i am dies' (that's not exactly making it very easy for us to accept his regeneration) and when he starts to cry. I tell you my heart bled, tears streamed and i actually made to run to the screen just to hug him, just to give him someone to hold!

  • what does wilf say at 3:02?

  • @MrCaptainFlix

    He says "She's making do."

  • I thought for a second he was going to say "I need Rose" but he didn't but I feel thats what he wanted :(

  • that line is so sad. Don't want him to go :(

  • blimey....:-( that was.........as soon as he said, even if i changed it feels like dieing..everything i am dies...and a new man comes sauntering (sp) away..and i'm dead..that already got me going!! then he had to go and cry....that set me off BIG TIME.....maybe i shouldnt watch the regeneration...i dont think i can..NINE/TEN FOREVER

  • @Chrisbabe16 has he regenerated already???

  • no not yet

  • okiii thanx

  • any time

  • this i will admit is the most emotinal bit i have ever seen in dr who besides rose leavin at the end of season 2

  • I knew I would cry when Regeneration time came...but this scene set me off, as well.

    I'll miss you, Ten. :(

  • hey i know this has nothing to do with him rengarteing tho he the "ten"th doctor and his name is

    David "ten"nant

  • @owneddogs66 Like it was made 4 hym miss hym loads

  • David is absolutely incredible in this scene

  • Best part of the whole episode. And the music. <333

  • oh my gosh im in tears

  • OMG they weren't kidding I'm going to need tissues.

  • This actually gave me a pain in my chest when I watched...if this can hurt so much, I'll be in agonies when the regeneration scene arrives...

  • Oh my god I was so in that cafe last Thursday! Love it!

  • are u going to sit in that seet for now on?

  • I've been in that cafe too..its on the corner in Cardiff by the bus station! I liked it!

    This is soooo sad!

  • whats it called?

I don't remember ever seeing it!

D'ya mean the bus station by Central?

  • @danivarius Actually, this is in Swansea. it's the Kardomah Cafe there, I go there quite a lot. The cool thing is they have a signed poster there from David Tennant thanking them for everything too. :D

  • Yes the one in Swansea..... :) Real nice place .....good scones.

And now the double whammy of maybe sitting in the same seat as Davey T or the Cribbins. :)

  • Yeah, and my banks in the background. :)

Grew up in Swansea, In Llanelli atm. Was gutted the day after I found they filmed there. Pass it all the time.

  • i cried when i saw this thanks for uploading it
