  • whad a load of shiiiiiiiiiiittttttttt!!!! =-(

  • the best show ever! please bring the series out on dvd! i was lucky enought to be at a friends part where michele lee attended. as nice as she is beautiful.

  • Michelle Lee... is she the same Michelle Lee who was in the Herbie film (where the car splits in two?!)

  • @mar0sa Yes, I believe it is.

  • @mar0sa Yes, same one.

  • Lisa Hartman had amazing legs in the show

  • Knots was the BEST ever!!! I lived just a few blocks from the Culdesac when they used to film there. The cast was amazing. I agree Abby was the BEST Bitch on T.V. ever. Constance McCashin is a true Lady in every sense of the word, BTW the season 6 opening music is available as a ring tone. I have it on my phone.

  • I'm torn btw Val's babies dying and Ciji's murder, for best Knots storyline of all

  • @ScottyDoug

The best was Laura (Constance Mc Cashin) reading "Goodnight Moon" on tape for Greg Sumner to watch after her death. I still get chills about it..I can't understand why they let her go..She was incredible..

  • love this show

  • best show ever!!! wish the studio would make it into dvd's!

  • LOL. soundtrack !

-> the french soundtrack has to be heard, got a very good synth rif in it. Search for "côte ouest" and search for the remix by Minitel Rose too.

  • Abby was the Queen Cunt of Primetime! LOVED her.

  • I have it as my ringtone with my wife. We watched Knots every Thursday while dating and were sad to see it end in 93.

  • Wed, 23 Feb 2011: "Dallas" and "Knots Landing" were my all time favorite night time t.v show. However, the opening music from season 6 is the best t.v show music of all time. It should be a cell phone ring tone.

  • miss 80s sooooooooooooo muuuuuuuuuuuch

  • @nariman7959 I hear ya, buddy!

  • This was such a great show. Very talented actors, great stories, and a great theme tune! Loved Abbie, Greg, Mack and Karen the best. Thanks for posting.

  • That a lot of redheads!

  • I can't remember Alec Baldwin on Knots Landing at all, why is that?

  • @dbastard1977 - He was only in the show for one season. His character dies when he falls of a billboard. I think his death is still posted on YouTube.

  • @dbastard1977 ONE MORE thing - Search Knots Landing Joshua dies, to see how he died. LOL

  • I remember Alex B! What a freakin hottie!

Now he's old and funny and I love him just as much

  • Me and my ex wife made sure we were ready, and did not want to be bothered from 10:00PM to 11:00PM every thursday night back in the mid eighties,,,,Thats how much we loved this show.

  • And Yes Constance McCashin was excellent.Loved the way in she played that role, her and Summers Adult relationship was great and refreshing. Killing her off was not popular in my house.

  • @linny50 For me, McCashin made the show. I know that Donna Mills was vital and was so terrific, but McCashin's character was just so classy and also the most realistic, and I enjoyed her scenes more than any other characters. When they got rid of her, I could no longer enjoy the show and it went downhill.

  • This is one of my favorite opening sequences, and I am probably in the minority but I Loved Ben and Val together, her and Gary... were in my opinion"FOOLS GOLD" A toxic pairing. And even though Abby was of course manipulative and conniving Gary seemed to gain strength through that relationship[You needed to be on your toes to deal with HER, LOL] Ben's insecurities concerning Gary got in the way.I wish the writers had wrote it differently, though I think that possibly Sheehan wanted out .

  • PUT... THAT COFFEE... DOWN.

    Coffee's for closers only.

  • the best show ever!

  • alec baldwin was in knots!

i must of missed that season.

    wow!

  • @thuncat1 He was in the first half of Season seven too.

  • I miss this show!!!!!!!!!! Remember when it came on. Afterwards had to get to bed. School night. Least my mom let stay up and watch.

  • This brings back ooooold memories. I remember my mom watched this show. It came on at 8:00 at night in Chicago back in 1985 or so. I was like 8 years old. These credits signalled that it was time for me to go to bed.

  • My god used to love this,,,the music is still really good.

  • the good old dayys the shows of my youth we wont see stuff like this anymore

  • such a swanky theme song for such a swanky show!

  • Gorgeous Donna Mills...

  • OMG!

    ALEC BALDWIN =O

  • I was 9/6/1988; a month and 3 weeks b4 Knots Landing's 10th season openin' episode entitled "Suicidal" which aired on 10/27/1988. But, I wasn't aware of its existance 'til 1999 when I watch'd Entertaiment Tonight's KL retrospective show.

  • I had a huge crush on William Devane. I don't know what it is about older men. I just find them HOTT.

  • Is it true that he'll be in Y&R by the end of thus year?

  • OMG!!!! That would be awesome. Considering Ted Shackelford's already on there and Joan Van Ark was. I haven't heard anything but you never know. It used to be taboo for an actor to do a soap, now work is work, you work where you can. I loved the chemistry between Nickolette Sheridan's character and William Devane's. They sizzled-up the screen. I just rememeber the strip crochette game they had going.

  • Oh my I LOVED Paige and Greg. I got to meet Joan, Ted, Michelle, Donna, and Kevin two weeks ago. It was amazing. I made a picture MVid. THey were so sweet

  • gosh I loved Michelle Lee

  • It reminds me of the episode of Married...with Children when God told Al to make God's Shoes. The second time he visited and wanted to see him, he couldn't. The guy told him he couldn't because he's watching "Knot's Landing". And Al said "No wonder it never goes off the air." Still love that joke.

  • It was a nice surprise to see Lisa Hartman in the credits. The audience was led to believe her character had left town in the previous season finale.

  • The ultimate primetime soap. They don't make 'em like this anymore. Man I loved this show!

  • While I love this version, what happened to seasons 12, 13, and 14? Why'd they delete them?

  • I so remember watching this with my grandmother which is now deceased ::(

  • Comment removed

  • Can't we have more good entertaining tv soap with proper professional actors like Knots Landing instead of the mind-numbing "reality" drivel we get in 2009? TV is getting worse and worse!

  • The reality ( no pun-intended ) is that it's far cheaper to do a reality show (you don't have to pay actors) But I agree with you most of the stuff on TV now is drivel.

  • Remember when CBS got cheap and began axing actors from shows including Constance McCashin who portrayed "Laura" on Knots Landing. The show was never the same after "Laura" was killed off. 'Laura" had perfect chemistry with "Greg" and was the only one who could put "Abby" in her place. Not to mention "Laura" had depth and class unlike nosey "Karen", dizzy "Val" and bitchy "Abby"!!!

  • @celinejen umm excuse me vampire diaries!?!?!

  • @uselesslop you just think this since you had good memories with this show back in the days. young people who watches tv series today will miss them in 10 - 20 years in the future too

  • @uselesslop Sadly even most of the scripted stuff can't compare to Knots.

  • @uselesslop

Look what happen the last time, tv revivals are just as terrible as reality shows.

  • @uselesslop Amen to that. TV and Music have both been utterly harsh since at least the 90s. It seems like the only market for tv and music anymore are people who have either given up totally on intellect or are just that young that they can't remember times like these at all--such a shame. Warner Brothers needs to release seasons 3-14 as well--to think of all the mind-numbing horrific shows they are so quick to release yet can't release a great one like this is disgusting.

  • Oh my god my teenage years have just come floodinhg back! Id forgotten Alex Baldwin was in it...didnt he get pushed off a building in the end????

  • He was gonna jump off the roof with his estranged wife Cathy(Lisa Hartman)when his mother Lil Mae (Julie Harris)arrived, told him he'd become a monster,he backed way ,got his foot caught in some cable and fell to his death.

  • Hated William DeVane's character. We used to call him lizard lips!

  • This music is unsignificant, it sounds really cheap for such an epic saga.

Listen to the french opening is so much better.

  • @InMedioStatVirtus Yes i'm french and i've known this series even if i only liked the first two seasons. It was too "Dallas"'s remake. The episodes were always the same, men cheating on their wives,or wives like Donna mills or Abby cheating on his husband, sex affairs, money etc..;not my cup of tea.But i liked a lot Michelle lee and the man with curly hair she met after, and Donna mill's daugher in the show, tonya Crowe she was so pretty. The french credits is way better yes!and there are lyrics....

  • @InMedioStatVirtus In france the series was called "Cote Ouest"..the song was"Cote ouest...le pacifique et la mer...cote ouest,la vie passe...Côte ouest tes palaces..."cote ouest, pacific sea and the shores...West coast with your palaces...and so on...

  • what the hell is Balwin doing on this show! Shackleford looks like Paul Hogan.

  • playing an avangelist turned psycho! it was a great storyline he seemed like a good guy becoming becoming gradually deranged. great final scene for his character too. big shock.

  • Oh god....Ted Shackleford, rape me!!!!!!!!!!

  • lol

    are you serious

  • forget ted...i'll take kevin dobson. mack was the HOTTEST man on KL, hands down.

  • hmmm im gonna go with Michael Fairgate.. i mean after he grew up... or Kenny

  • why does Joan Van Ark look like a Henson studio reject now?

  • Way to many attempts to look younger then she is

  • This theme tune is amazing - Bring's back lot's of memorie's...

  • It's funny seeing a younger Ted Shackelford here, after watching in daily on "The Young and the Restless" (on which he currently stars). He actually looks better now, I think. Ironically, the character he's married to on the show, Gloria, was once played by Joan Van Ark (she left before he joined the show).

  • Alec Baldwin needs to take a look at this...maybe it would inspire him to drop 60 lbs or so.....

  • Donna Mills was my dream woman when i was 10

  • Alec Baldwin was so good as good boy Joshua who goes totally crazy!

  • A Burger King worker once told my mother she looked like Michelle Lee. She was flattered.

  • heh, a Burger King worker once told me I looked like Brandon Lee... ;)

  • Yeah a Burger King worker flashed me her left tit !

  • how'd you manage that?

  • rad, how'd you manage that?

  • she was my girlfriend lolol

  • pics+divx :)

  • Look at that hair on Lisa Hartman....man!!!!

  • best show ever! i was honored to meet michele lee at a friends christmas party. she is so nice, and even more beautiful in person. if that's possible? wish the series was on dvd. peace to all in 2009!

  • I'm so glad to hear that! And, I don't know where you're from, but in the U.S., we should be getting season two real soon.

  • I loved this show!

  • well depending on what and where it was the second longest running prime time drama...recently third i believe ...with shows like dallas and dynasty (which i love) they went too OTT too fast, Dallas seemed to loose it around season 7-8 IMHO and dynasty though i loved it all the way through seemed to loose it quite early too...Knots Landing kept a steady pace expecially at the beginning introduced some even more OTT glam in seasons 5-7 then calmed down a bit...

  • i dont live in the uk, and where i live which is memphis,tn knots landing came on every thursday at 7:00 pm so we just called it a nighttime soap

  • holy shit Alec Baldwin was in this!

  • yeah, he played a great psycho. He was pretty cute when he was young!

  • yeah, a preist who killed himself.

  • hehe neat

add me as a friend on M.S.N 4d

  • Brings back memories of me watching this a young lad in the late eighties/early nineties in the UK- lunchtime indeed.

Probably haven't heard this since 1991/92. Brings a tear to the eye ;)

  • I wish KL would come back on cable in the uk!! it was last seen around 2001..

  • i miss knots landing so much!!!!

  • I am not a daytime t.v.addict,but i admit to sitting glued to this series lol.

  • knots landing was a night time soap and it only came on thursday nights at 7:00

  • that's a fantastic song!! Ah I love it... brings back memories

  • LOL~ Ain't DEVANE just DIVINE??!!!;D

  • DEVANE!!

  • Loved Knots!!

  • Tell me something: Doesn't Will Devane remind you of a more butch Rick Moranis?

  • wow alec baldwin was so young

  • One quick question: Could Knots Landing have been about Bobby and Pam. I was thinking that JR did butt heads with Pam, but I think that Bobby seems to be one of those who could stand up to his brother with no problem. I ask this ? because I think he woulda ran Bobby and Pam out of Southfork. Also, I am watching Dallas from the beginning and I have to say, Knots Landing does catch me a lot more than Dallas does, though it is its Spin off. Once it got away from Dallas, it took off on its own

  • Rather, I wondered if Bobby and Pam would be a problem to JR to the point where he wants them out of Southfork, and how did Gary and Val end up in Knots Landing?

  • I read somewhere that David Jacobs actually created Knots prior to Dallas... CBS passed on Knots, then after Dallas became a hit, he re-pitched the idea. To link it to Dallas, they came up with the Gary & Val remarriage (I think they actually go remarried on Dallas, a Miss Ellie gave them the house as a wedding gift).

  • Yeah, that's true. They wanted to extend the show and the premise was originally taken from a film called Scenes From A Marriage but with 4. I read that on Wikipedia. When I looked at Knots Landing, I reallize that the ? of Bobby and Pam was crazy. Bobby was too important to the family business and Bobby wouldn't take it

  • I love knotslanding, its a spin off of dallas & its lasted longer than dallas. I wish i had everyone of knotslanding episodes. i use to enjoy dallas but knots were my best one and still is my best soap, beside i do love Dynasty.

  • I like how they have the credits in this season and then slowed it down in the 10th Season

  • I feel the same way lol

  • Melrose Place is the 90's version of Knots Landing.

  • knots landing was good even when it was bad...didn't loose it's class early like dallas by season 8, or dynasty by episode 8... oops :) i like dynasty rely :)

  • totally agree with you

  • I think Dallas lost a lot of viewers after the dream season beacuse they had to undo a lot of great things in that season, that it was just too much to say 'Okay I'll stick with you'

  • Ahhh I miss the days when a theme song lasted longer than seven seconds. TV of today can't hold a candle to stuff like this...except for "The Office" and Alec's "30 Rock".

  • they are a lot shorter but i think Friends and Cheers both had great songs.

  • It outlasted EVERY other nightime soap INCLUDING DALLAS... DUH!!!

  • Its a Dallas Spinoff. So it will always be 2nd compared to Dallas. How shot JR changed history forever.... ENTER CLIFFHANGER. No comparission my dear.

  • i love knots landing i'm sick of people saying it was a crap spin off from dallas as it would have been just as good if gary and val weren't from dallas!

  • In truth the creator of Dallas actually pitched Knots Landing to CBS first. But the network wanted something glitzier. So, in a way, Dallas is a knock off of Knots Landing.

  • yup i saw that too

  • So TRUE ! Knots Landing rocks !!!

  • I agree, I actually prefered this one to Dallas.

  • Alec Baldwin and Doug Sheehan were so handsome!

  • Man... I hadn't heard nor seen the intro to Knots landing for a good 18 years until just now!

Somehow, I found myself whistling along to it, like I had heard it yesterday.

  • For all the knotheads out their I had the priviledge of finding the street.Where they filmed all the exterior shots and it still looks like the same.Except for some minor color changes on the house. They pretty much look like they did in the 80's.Watch this every week with my mum and it was her favorite show.Karen and sid were my favorite couple. They were what every southern califoria couple wanted to be.The show tackled many issues we see on t.v. today, but were taboo then.knots rocks forever

  • This was one of the best casts they had over the years in this season.

  • I have to say this is my favorite. I totally forgot Alec Baldwin was on this. Ahhh...soaps from the '80s. Gotta love it. Thanks for posting.

  • These were by far the best opening credits. The music is amazing!

  • wow! that just took me back!

this is when TV was good. real good.

one of my fav shows! why isnt this on in repeats somewhere... i would be glued!!!!

    thank u :-)

  • does anybody have the openings to season 5 and the first half of season 7?

  • I have Season 5 and I will try to upload ASAP

  • Do you have season 5 without William Devane?

  • I do, but I have to find it.

  • Season 5 is now uploaded

  • cool beans, man

  • You didn't dare go out on Thursday nights!

  • My ex used to make me watch this show and I ended up loving it. When you heard that song on a Thursday night you knew you had survived another work week with just a laid back Friday to go. Characters were awesome and beautiful. I wonder if they get residuals on this...hope they do because they really deserve it. Scott from Cape Cod

  • good 2 know i'm not d only 1 who thinks dis opening theme is the best vesion of d seasons. i don't know if it's available in cd or i'll just have 2 wait 4 it on dvd. thanks for posting.

  • this is my favourite titles, musical arrangement (and cast!) Great opening and closer to this music arrangement

  • I start s6 tonight! Can't wait!

  • Thanks for the blast from the past! I actually have this as my cellphone ringtone.

I sure hope they put the rest of the series on DVD soon, I can't believe they canceled the rest of them after the first season.

  • Warner Brothers needs to put the rest of this series on DVD or else I'm going to stand naked in front of their offices and sing "I Am Woman" until someone's ears bleed.

  • I totally believe you would too! People please get him his DVD!! I've seen the top half nekkid, trust me get him the DVD!!

OK, Curt I think you are right about the visual borderwise but I think you just wanted me to watch this clip you Knots Landing Drama Whore you.

  • My work here is done.

    8-)

  • i love this music..

  • Hey I LOVE this... MY name is Ciji... so of course she is my favorite character

  • Ciji is a nice name, is it Asian?

  • Thanks it's Polynesian... from what I'm told it means bringer of light or light barer... How true that is I don't know... (smile)

  • Wasn't there twin actresses that played the same role. Or was that on Dallas?

  • Alec Baldwin was so smokin' HOT back then! WOW WOW WOW

  • Don't let that opening fool ya. Kevin Dobson was NOT on that show. He was on Bonanza.

  • Definitely the best version of the theme right here! Mack and Karen ROCK, and Gary and Val were the ultimate star-crossed lovers. Abby and Sumner did their dirty deeds oh so cleverly, and Cathy came on board after Ciji's tragic murder. I wish they'd release more of Knots on DVD; I want to see the Mack and Karen years, and Val's stolen babies, Sumner's dirty deeds, and the Ciji/Cathy stuff again! Thanks for bringing back such great memories!

  • yes, i have been looking for this music for a while and that was one of the best versions of it, agreed.

  • Great show,I loved how Lisa Hartman's Ciji character was killed off, fans missed her so Lisa came back as Cathy Greay(C.G.)Ciji's lookalike hired by Abby to confuse poor old Gary, great stuff!

  • I love this opening and this sure brings back memories.

  • Love the screen at the end on the beach with Joan and Douglas running, Joan was such a good runner, she ran stylishly and with method and Douglas was trying to keep up with her !!!

  • I read somwhere that Joan used to jog 10 miles a day!!!

  • one of my favourite openings has all the great cast I know and love. Abby, Sumner, Karen, Mack. love it.

  • love this. love knots. val rules!

  • I thought then and I still think now that this opening starting with the water and then the o and the black background and the scroll of moving pictures was and still is the cleverest opening sequence ever

  • I liked any opening that incorporated the cul-de-sac, since that was the whole premise of the show.

  • Thee best version of the theme! Absolutely! All of the heavy hitters were around.

  • Bravo!

  • Crystal Clear!!
