@AlwaysAPaladin The problem is that if the healers are struggling and you pop your shield you risk that instant heal (LoH) because it shares a global cool down. I would be careful in using the Divine Shield.

Great guide. We did your recommended 2 tanks 2 healers 4 ranged 2 melee tonight. Died our very first go, just getting used to the mechanics, it was that last 20 percent that made the healers sqeal. But I popped my Divine Hymn and our Elemental Shaman did his healing rain and KAPOW. Oh and I won my first heroic item. Mosswrought Shoulders. HAZAR!!!!

Ok I can see how you can heal left side, but the problem I am having is healing the right side. I've healed the left side and I have to say it's doable. But when it comes to healing the right side, I am encountering some difficulties. I am currently averaging a 23k hps on the right side, and it doesn't seem to be enough. @koentaya The healing requirements on both sides should be equal, it seems like it's a dps and tanking problem on the right side and not a healing problem, I would personally have a look at who you have assigned to each side and see if there are people not using personal DR cooldowns and such.

Imo your guide should be saying 6 dps is overkill, instead of 4 healers . We definalty felt it can be done by 2 healers, but the margin for error is ridicolous. Especially for guilds starting Heroics now, the enrage timer on this boss is not of concern with only 4 dps. Might save some other guilds a couple of hours whiping when they read this ;)

Wish me and my guild luck, we finally got Madness down on Tuesday! Starting heroic modes tonight! I think Morchok will be easy enough, though the others have me more concerned!

@andromidius Okay, he's not that easy. Even with four healers the damage is pretty intense, especially without ideal damage soakers (Ret Paladin and Elemental Shaman - yeah, me). 3% was our best attempt, and the Crystals gave us tonnes of trouble on the pull when they spawned in between the two mobs or inside pieces of scenary (making it impossible to move to them - thanks!). So yeah, 29 wipes. 29.

i dont know if anyone has mentioned this, but if your a mage, its a good thing to armour bounce on the stomps to help healers out a bit on each stomp. changing to frost armour for each stomp gives 15% damage reduction and can just help a tad. no where near enough for a double stomp though, so dont go trying that xD

A Rogue is easy to understand as a stomp tank... what sense does a dps dk make?

Is it actual physical damage? So that the extra armor from blood presence at least helps? That's the only way I can think of a dps DK being a workable idea.

Pala healers are awsome as soakers btw, so if ur only running with one melee, it will make this alot more doable. Havent tryed 2 healing it, but the dps requirement here is pathetic, so if youre just starting this, ill suggest going with 4 healers.

We had alot of trouble with the Morchok side. Seemed like the damage there where alot more spiky that at Korcrom, so put a pala/sham healer at that side, plus our 2 dps with highest armor to reduce the stomp damage, and popped a disc/drood healer on the other side. That really changed stuff, and hes now a chest full of loot.

is there a reason you want to tank them seperately? if you have the bosses tanked on top of another, the two tanks would share the stomp damage and allow better AOE healing for your healers.

@tomxtchen I've not done this fight yet but a friend of mine was talking to me during his guilds progression of this and he said because of the debuff from stomp the damage was to high if you took the double stomp damage.

@tomxtchen something that went unmentioned, the stomps give a debuff to everyone hit in heroic increasing physical damage taken by 100%, so stacking for both would mean: stomp>another stomp dealing 100% more damage, that would wipe you. this debuff also applys to tanks, so this is a good time to use a CD, but heres some advice, dont be trigger happy with CDs and dont not use them either, you NEED them <20% boss hp and so just make sure that they are up for then, also ask healers for one too!

Hey Just a suggestion for anyone having issues with this one. What my guild dose is we broke the 2 groups up at the start. Where 1 group engages Morchuk, and group 2 went and stood over by their marker. That way only half the raid takes the first stomp.  And when he splits there is less likely chance of a crystal spawning in the center between the 2 groups if you got some slow people who dont get out quick enough at the break.

I had a lot of trouble on him last night in my 10 man group. We came to conclusion that his stomp double hits player closest to the tank, not 2nd closest to Morchok. We found that after our hpaladin kept getting insta gibbed with 160k stomp hits (position was hpala-mtank-boss-meleedps)

Precast, prehot, preshield all damage. The boss dies very quickly with 2 healers, you should be burning your mana. If you have players die on the stomp when they're on 100% before hand then whoever is taking the double damage isn't close enough or is failing there cooldowns. Good luck ;)
