@bladerunner6 Chris Patterson has been Solberg's co-driver since Rally Bulgaria. He's very experienced, and was Nasser Al-Attiyah's navigator in PWRC. Mills retired to concentrate on his business.
@bladerunner6 Hi, thought you might like to know Phil is running his own business Viking Motorsport (specialise in classic rally ford escort preparation) in wales, UK. I think his cars do very well on several events sometimes driven by gwyndaf evans (another rally legend)
Well no more Phil Mills as of recently. He decided to quit this year and Petter has chosen Chris Patterson to replace him, and he is pretty experienced though.
" It gets faster now" Ha Ha, I'm going to get a T shirt made with those words on it. Rallying makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end, Mexico, WHAT A RESULT, Rally on boys
Thats what rallyings about. Makes me laugh when Phil says, "It gets faster now" awsome pairing, commitment and confidence in each other, Rally on boys.
Brilliant! Laughed when at approximatley 6min 22 secs they come out of a left hand hairpin and Phill Mills says 'it gets faster now'!!! What was the last 6 mins 22 secs then???
I dont think so..altough I don know,what K right means,I think it is now 90 degree corner,according to a pacenote system of Richard Burns,who had been using 90 right/left as well as K right/left
@nolanbowling I think K is used for Kink, which wouldn't quite be described properly is called a 4 or 6 corner. I think a lot of co-drivers use "Square Right" for 90 degree bends.
At least I think that's what it is :P. Great video!
Well in all honesty, Colin's old record was done in a much slower car. Also, he was not being scored for points, so he was able to push much harder than usual.
Even when not scored for points, you're not going to want to face the music for wrecking your car due to overconfidence. Pushing hard is pushing hard.
Seeing drivers go all out like this is what makes the sport fun. Who actually wants to think their favorite driver is being reserved just to stay safe on the leaderboard?
Considering his performance lately, that might not be someone your going to have to root for anymore. I always liked Peter but something is going on there and he's ether going to have to overcome it of move on down the long line of drivers.
@SCUDERIA031 actually it will probably last forever since after that rally they added 3 chicanes to slow the speed down and then dropped it all together from rally finland.
ya fair comment i think he has lost the hunger & the car has been up to speed for a good few years now.atko has more speed at the mo & solberg could lose his seat if performances dont improve next year.
Yes and Prodrive maybe lose it`s running of the Subaru Team if they don`t improve . I think that is what Subaru needs , some new fresh blood in their company .
Yea it is, I was watching a review from this years rally, Im from finland so I was there on the stages too, but when I watcjhed the review from Hirvonens in car cam, I heard that the co driver had to leave some turn off the note because Mikko was driving so fast so he had no time to say them all, he was just telling to Mikko like every second/third corner :D
I was there too :) but I'm not finish and I don't understand a word of Hirvonens onboard:( Anyway, worth to mention that pace notes are made by driver during the recce, so what co-driver reads during the event is what he wrote down when driver dictated to him. So it may be just the way Mikko is doing his pacenotes. But as I said I don't understad a word in finish...
GOOOO PETER!!!

what (Key Right )means?
resource112 3 years ago
Don't quote me on this, but I think it's a 90 degree corner... Typically a 2nd gear corner I would think.
nolanbowling 2 years ago
I dont think so..altough I don know,what K right means,I think it is now 90 degree corner,according to a pacenote system of Richard Burns,who had been using 90 right/left as well as K right/left
AlejjSi 2 years ago
So then you do think so...
I've always used a pacenote system similar to Colin McRae's. A K corner is typically taken in 2nd gear, where a K - is taken in 1st.
nolanbowling 2 years ago
"K right" is tighter than a square/90 corner, but not as tight as a hairpin. The name comes from the shape of the letter.
But yeah Phil is saying "keep right/left" (and "keep in" as well, presumably stay to the side of the road you're on).
rollog60 2 years ago
@AlejjSi do you have the complete pacenotes?
