Whenever someone shows cool imaginitive 2-D animation in the style popular in the 60s and 70s someone comments "they were on drugs". If you want drug influenced animation √ out Charlie the Unicorn. Seriously, some people are just artistic. Some people create trippy images because they're beautiful. I'm only saying this because I'm tired of people always insulting art (even commercial art) because it's from an era when people put their heart's into their work. There's too much cynicism.
@InsertName125 thank you for getting this out there. it's depressing that people think that true beauty and art and everything else can only come from drugs...our brains are full of unique and interesting thoughts all on their own.
I remember this commercial and thinking..SO BIZARRE..
There is another psychedelic Bit-O-Honey commercial circa 1974 with some glow yellow guy in a ten gallon hat that is psychedelic and striking in its colors, but it has not been posted on you-tube and I have no idea where to find it
Peter Max did not animate either, I'm sorry to say. It is a common misconception that Peter Max was behind "Yellow Submarine". He mostly does advertisements. I would love for him to make an animated movie.
Cool Peter Max/ACS Film...I met Peter Max several times and he is a great Pop Artist and a nice guy as well! I have a huge collection of his orginal posters, drawings he did for me, and licensed products he had on the market in the late 1960's - 1970's. If you want to see some of this stuff, e-mail me for a link.
loved it!

Just b/c Peter Max is a brilliant artist. My favorite probably. Doesn't mean he was fucked up. He is just talent pure and simple

It would be cool for this style of art to make a full-scale, mainstream comeback.

I agree. You don't have to be on any kind of drug to appreciate and/or create this kind of art.
