...HHO doesn't have as much power to push the pistons as gasoline? Because I thought that HHO was more explosive. If HHO has more power than gasoline, then it would be cheaper since the only thing you have to refill is the water and more environmentally friendly.
Hi, I was wondering if you could help me out by answering some questions, because it seems like u know quite a bit about engines and stuff. I found this video because I'm trying to figure out what spark knock is. In my automotive book for school, it says that it's not preignition. I'm thinking that it's ignition of blowby, but i don't know if that's right. Also, I wanted to work a hydrolosis assist using HHO and gasoline in cars, and eventually run an engine on HHO alone. Are you saying that...
Nice work on the mower! Hey, you're the first person I've seen talkin about EGT's! How bout a PRE and POST HHO EGT on the MOWER!!?? That would be cool, as well as the pre and post on that vehicle you showed w/ the electrolyzer on it, wher eyou pulled the hho hose off of the engine and then put it back on, would like to see the EGT data on both those projects!
Are you running any sort of PWM ? I have a 16 horse riding mower. Single cilinder Tecumsie that I am curious about trying this on before advancing further to larger projects.
No pwm just brute force. I do use pwm on vehicles. Generally set it at 30-50a depending on rig. I use the pwm to control heat. No efficiency is gained with pwm just a good heat control tool. At least on the plate cell so far. nothin cooler than seeing something run on water alone.thanks
Very nice. Have really enjoyed all of your work. A few of us have been working on our own hho projects and are also finding that the introduction of hho is not drastically effecting 02 sensor readings. Keep up the good work
its all a huge bellcurve at this time. Next week there will be some eye opening vids on my channel. Just have to triple check some tests. I am beside my self. thanks for the comment
No way slower. But self ignition or octane is much lower. Ever used starting fluid in an engine and heard the horrendous rattle(especially on diesel) thats pre-ignition and you trying to squeeze the headgaskets out or break a rod. Its ok to use mixing it with gas or diesel but not straight. hope that expains it better.
great work sir! i used a bladder to collect over 30 gallons of hho gas from a .75 lpm generator, then put the bladder under about 11 w.c. of pressure to injected into an 18 hp lawn tractor. it ran fine, a little of the timing problem goes without saying. the engine ran for over 10 minutes. using working flash arrestors of course, i am still here. i am just afraid to video and show this as it is extremely dangerous! this is how i circumvent the lpm hho gas production obstacle. great work sir!!!
yeah, that is a dangerous stunt that some kid might try ... I did similar with a large party balloon a couple years ago ... had one go off on me when I was only a few feet away ... think my ears are still ringing from that one ...
your engine is a much larger displacement than I am using ... mine is only 90cc ... managed to get it to idle very well feeding about 6LPM ... when it came time to run it full tilt, I had to push my electrolyzer for everything my 120v 20a circuit could give me ... managed to get it up to a little less than 10LPM and the engine was able to run at full speed ...
however, I kept popping my circuit breaker on my Variac ... was pulling over 2000 watts ...
thats good to know that 4 more lpm will do full boogie. My guess is it was about 1500 rpm with small load of blade. I think i will get much better results with 3.5 and retarded ignition. the hardest thing about this setup is there is ni choke and the trottle plate has 1\8 hole in it. I had to use big hose to limit atmosphere. the thing really fights itself when running. you can kinda hear it in the video. thanks for the comment scarecrow.
That's pretty amazing for a 6.5 hp engine. I read on a Ford web site that it only takes 9 horsepower to propel a crossover suv down the road at highway speeds.
suh... huh.... WEEEET! Rob! Even with all that quick one-handed work, you're getting 5mmw and I KNOW you haven't had time to re-tune the e-lyte since your testing yesterday! These cells ROCK!

are you restricting any air from coming in through
the carb?
JHx86 2 years ago
yes, the choke is set to full choke. so choke restickts air as well as throttle blade

You might try starting fluid to get it running.
Greasy01 3 years ago
Ether has too fast aflame speed. As a mechanic i suggest not using it. A spraybottlewith gasoline is how I do it.

Faster than HHO?

little over 6.5 lpm

Not bad man not bad at all, I cant wait to get my hands on a small motor to start playing with ..

its fun but can be frustrating if you get one with advaced timing. It about breaks your arm trying to start on hho. gas 1st then wean in the hho

very cool 8)
I love the shot with all the wires at the 1:18 mark (performance, not pretty).
Good job!
