  • Can you transfer an OS from one hard drive to another?

  • @rockerofthepeeps only if you copy everything from one hard drive to another, meaning image copy.

  • Do i need to install windows 7/xp/vista etc on a new hard drive i buy?

  • @rockerofthepeeps If you don't have any OS on any hard drive going into the PC, then yeah, you'll have to install an operating system (doesn't have to be windows) in order to do anything outside of initial boot.

  • hey

    i have a problem

    when i boot up

it dosent say that i have put a new hdd

or if i go to disk management it dosent show my hard drive

is it becasue the hdd i am putting is used awhile????

    plz reply

  • @TheZammy2blood try using another sata cable or sata port, it may not be reading it. You can confirm this by going into bios and making sure it recognizes the drive.

  • @njoker555 how do i do that

my computer is ibm thinkcentre M 8089 all models

    please tell me???????

  • @TheZammy2blood you have to try what I said above, that's the way of eliminating certain issues.

  • i have to say thank you..i pretty much know everything...but i had a problem because windows did not recognize my new hard drive ..but now I know how =) and is the same on w7

  • @navarrotarro glad it helped :) I know the quality isn't that great, but I didn't have the camcorder I use now back then.

  • @navarrotarro what did you do?

  • Two words....cable management.

  • @OneCreativeOrigin lol...it looks nicer now. Just had to find time to rewire everything over the summer. They got messed up when I upgraded GPU a few weeks before this video was created and closed the case up in a hurry to try my games.

  • my wire doesn't snap in... Weird gotta re open it again, it works though, but it won't go in? Maybe that will help the speed of the hardrive?

  • @oasisbeyond as long as the wire doesn't come back out by itself, it should be fine.
