Usually the wind was coming from that direction. With such a short runway you have to land into the wind. I landed the other way once, it was a very nice approach.
The last Otter in this vid nailed the approach and landing...no float, on the numbers, off at the first (and only) turnoff.
The first Otter was a former Scenic airlines Vistaliner..now leased from Twin Otter Int'l Leasing in Las Vegas. Wish I could have done some flying in that part of the world..the Twin Otter is an amazing airplane....
I flew with a pilot who hit a truck on the road one day in a C-402. One of the main gear hit the windshield of the truck and the plane went to SXM and did an emergency landing. No injuries as far as I know.
