  • Nice job with the vid! You saved me some aggravation getting the stock off. Thanks!

  • damn rich kids you will fuck up your $ 500+ guns don't do that just upgrade

  • @themayhemmulisha My family is lower middle class and this gun costs less than $300. Just upgrade? That's what this is. I've been using this modification for 4000+ shots without a problem.

  • I've got an adjuster on my 2240 pistol. One thing I noticed is that adjustments to the power level have a pretty large effect on group placement. Not only does elevation change, but also windage. So I mainly leave it alone...

  • i think you need to cut a 1 or 2 coils of the spring because the head of the screw adds tension to the spring.if not, more air pressure comes out of the barrel when fired increasing the fps.please take note that a pellet travelling more than 950 fps it may suffer inaccurate shot.its better to adjust the power below 950fps to get a wholesome accuracy.when loading a heavier pellet, its time to adjust the power adjuster to attain a higher fps especially on long distance target.

  • @nathoi The point of this is to increase velocity so I find in unnecessary to trim the spring.

  • Hey man I just got a elite powermaster and it shoots high and to the right hard. I had to adjust the windage all the way to the left adn the scope will not adjust yet or maybe not. My ? is the box says break in 100 rounds but blogs say 500 to a thousand. did you have a problem breaking your crossmen in or do you think I have a defective gun?????? I have a shit load of guns and trigger time old as you prob. I yeild to your knoladge. A freind.

  • @FraterSolzai Spring air rifles are very hold sensitive. Make sure you are holding the gun the exact same way each shot. The idea is to get the gun to recoil the same way every time. Try the artillery hold. You hold the gun in the same place every time, but you grip it very lightly.

  • This doesn't harm the gun in any way, right.

  • @XxrushxX1 No.

  • It should be mentioned that with a stronger spring and a power adjuster you can pump your gun up to 2400 psi and get a nice flat shot string with heavier pellets. Same velocity (859-900 fps) but much more fp/e

  • I think I understand the mechanics of the screw. But, just how much gain do you get? Will it harm the seals? Is it possible to apply too much tension on the adjuster if I was to turn the screw in too far? I'm new to airguns as you can tell. Hope you don't mind the questions? Thanks for the video.

  • @nobull60 You can get around 100 fps. If you screw it in too far, the gun just wont cock.

  • How many shots per fill do u get with the power adjustment installed? Thanks

  • @AirGunLvr It depends on how far you have it adjusted and even the air temperature. About 20 on full power.

  • Comment removed

  • if you reduce the power, can you get more shots?

  • @TheBlabla1996 Yes but you cant reduce the power with this. You would have to use a lighter spring.

  • @phgHunter oke, nice, im going to have a benjamin discovery tomorrow!!!!! so i hope its an good rifle

  • i need to see you shoot the gun with the mood and with out the mood so i can beleve it

  • @bbeener209 What?

  • @phgHunter It is possible to test the velocities with a chrony? I am thinking of modding it but I want to know if its worth it.

  • @Bezemkast33 I don't have one. I can tell you for a fact that it will increase velocities.

  • you should post a video of you pumping the rifle with the hand pump from empty to full, so people would know how long it takes to pump it up.

  • holly smokes bat man. just did this on my 22 disco at 10yards phone book test with out mod 14ish grain pellet went threw 577 pages with the mod it went threw 1030 pages sweet now time to redial my scope for center .look out squrriles.

  • what basically does a power adjuster do? is it just to turn the power down to increase efficiency or can the power be cranked up for more power but lower efficiency? and if you can crank up the power, about how much more power can i expect to get from a .22 disco shooting 21gr kodiak

  • @ilocanoTornado You can't get less power with this. Around 35.

  • @ilocanoTornado 35 foot pounds.

  • lol 1 inch

  • good vid! goog quality good explenation

  • is that the only air rifle you have?

  • There is no screwdriver slots they just flat, so there is no way to remove them

  • @greg23842384 You could get someone to tap a head in them for you.

  • i just bought this rifle and i am very dissapointed now as i discovered my discovery is protected from doing this simple upgrade, the screws you have removed to get acces to the hammerspring are protected from unscrewing. This is uk imported version so this is probably reason of this : (

  • @greg23842384 That really sucks. You don't want to break the law though. There has to be some way to un screw it. How is it protected?

  • wow really the legal limit in england is 12 it sucks but i took a magpie this morning at 25yards with my logun easy headshot.

  • what ft/lb is your gun at top power then .

  • @1MEALOR About 29 foot pounds.

  • Great video! Thinking about doing this mod on my Disco. What is the difference in power and shot count per fill when you do this?

  • You can get Premiers to do around 940. The shot count goes down to 10 solid shots when the adjuster is all the way in.

  • for degassng, you can also use phillips screw driver or anything similar and push on the air fill valve and that empties it pretty fast too. nice informational vid man

  • Good job phgHunter. This is a budget minded (but accurate) air rifle so budget minded mods are invaluable. Thank you. Also it is worth mentioning that you can substitute an everyday 10-32 3 inch screw for the degasser tool which sells for $12 to $15.

  • Good stuff. I haven't messed with my Disco and I new this was possible. It's an easy and cheap upgrade and there's no reason to pay someone for such an easy mod. The Marauder definitely could use an external adjuster to make things easier to adjust as well. Thanks for the video and keep them coming.

  • Thanks!

  • great tutorial, thinking about getting a discovery and i didnt want to pay $35 for a power adjuster. =)

  • Lol I went through my emails backwards. Any ways glad to help. No sense in spending 35 bucks on a screw.

  • Lol.

  • Thanks. I know what you mean. I would imagine that being able to access adjustment screws when you are finding optimum settings (sitting behind a chronograph lol) would make it alot easier. Thanks for watching!

  • @phgHunter Hi i would like to get the disco in .177. i would like to use heavy pellets say 10.2,10.6. do you think it is possible to modify and get it to go 950fps to 1000fps using your method?

  • @tcmtr6 Yes for sure. You may be able to get 1000 but I'm sure you can get in the mid 900's with heavy .177's.

  • I have a Benjamin that's about 20yrs old and it is so hard to pump. What can I do? Couple of years ago I used oil/powder on it and it did not help. The rifle is in perfect shape but just so hard to pump. Thanks Jason

  • Does it feel rough when you pump it? They are hard to pump. You just get used to it when you shoot it alot.

  • No its not rough its just gotten a lot harder to pump in its age. This rifle gets shot a lot in the summer time by the kids (with my super vision) never dropped or in rain and never sat with air in it for more than a min or 2

  • I don't know how you would make it easier. I would think it is broken in by now so there really isn't much you can do short of lengthening the pump arm for more leverage. I have read that with the way the Benjamin pumps are designed it is not only ok but recommended to leave 1-2 pumps in them for storage. It closes the seals and prevents ambient air from flowing through the gun and over time getting the seals dirty.

  • Lol. Someone has made a magazine for the Discovery. I think there is a video on youtube.

  • Thanks for the video!! I'm gonna go get the stuf then try this out. Also I tried the take out the safety for lighter trigger pull and mine wont engage either.

  • Your welcome. If you are interested in having a lighter and customizable pull I could make a video on that. Did you notice the 2 screws in my trigger assembly?

  • It's funny because this trigger is SOO cheap but I haven't had any problems with it at all. It breaks really crisp to.

  • I've an OLD one that needs rebuilding. This is a good vid for it. If its an air gun, how does the spring allow more air to pass? I'm gonna do this to mine one cold day...thanks again.

    D

  • The pre-tensioned spring makes the hammer hit the valve pin harder opening the valve a bit wider and longer. Basically more air more velocity. You can also decrease velocity and have a higher shot count by swapping out the factory spring for a lighter one.

  • I see!!! I need to get a few gaskets too. Its an old gun.
