  • I appreciated the "re-translation"? heehee

  • middle part is wrong...

  • this is awesome. it be more impressive though without the help of conducting

  • hahaha, its not actually an irish war chant, the song is about gaelic seaweed.

  • I prefer you gentlemen's version over that of Chanticleer. Excellent!

  • Yeah .... Chanticleer's is "eh". I agree.

  • This is awesome. Besides the Anuna version - which is phenomenal - this is great. I also love the energy of your audience and the group itself. Makes me happy.

  • You think that this is the best version of dulaman? Then watch Celtic Woman-Dulaman.

Thepen pimers performed great, but Meav better ;) Watch the video and sry for my "german" English

  • The two are completely different arrangements so you can't compare it on the same level.

Check out Anuna. This is Michael McGlynn's arrangement and he is in the group Anuna so it's more "authentic" and absolutely electrifying.

Your English is fine, by the way :)

  • @Knuddelmoor eh this is live, not a lip synch.

  • pretty good. more balance between the sections would help. but overall good job.

  • plz rerecord with some decent sound =]

    nice rendition

  • I apologise on behalf of my people when asked to translate Irish we have a tendency to take the piss:-) Well done its great:-)!!

  • I love how you guys decided to move the tempo faster then Chanticleer did. you guys are very good. but the Baritone is a little tooo loud and i understand that the area you were singing in had a comic tone to it but i dont think this is a song to throw a comic touch to but thats just me. Overall very good.

  • If you guys like music such as Dulaman you should make sure you check out Chanticleer, they are one of the best Accapella groups out there.

  • MY FAVORITE SONG EVER! (besides prayer of the children) omg i wish i was there to see this concert i would have craped myself.

    i'm your new biggest fan!

  • It sounds like you guys are trying to go as fast as humanly possible. Nice job!!

  • Bravi guys, that was terrific!

  • Hi all,

I know Dulaman means seaweed, but I believe its a synonym for an irish man who makes a living out of farming seaweed. In the song he sets out to buy himself new shoes and trousers and a hat so that he can court the beautiful fairmaid. And it looks like he's successful. An Irish Warsong of some sort if you like ...

  • Ha! That translation was awesome! *lol* I wish it really said that. ^ ^;; Then I wouldn't feel so silly putting so much effort into seaweed!

  • Yes, some irish person translated that one for the americans!:)

  • I LOVE this song. It rocks so hard and this is a great performance. I just wish you guys could survive without a conductor. It is not necissary.

  • we're aware of the false translation. it's a joke.

  • I think the audience were just as clueless as the singers. Nice singing though. Why not try your own arrangement instead of using Anúna's?

  • Judging by the laughs of the audience, I'm sure people were aware that that translation was incorrect... The song is about Seaweed... It's actually a really scattered song (lyrically). You guys sounded nice though! It's a hard song. Umm... watch the pronounciation on the solos and try to make the "ga" part of the "gaelach" less harsh I guess? Nice job!
