He slipped down the snow ledge..thinking it was just snow not realizing that in fact it was one big piece of ice.He slipped into the falls.The current was taking him and just like the story said his feet were literally trapped in a rigged rock.The only reason I know is I live 20 min from the falls and its one of the local stories around here.Gives me goose bumbs still to this day seeing and hearing about it.
