You should check out the Cremaster Cycle book published by the Guggenheim. It explains a lot of the symbolism that otherwise would require months of research to figure out. I don't recall what that particular shape supposedly signifies though, sorry.

Thats what makes the whole thing suspect. Matthew Barney is able to just 'explain' it all, what everything means. What real artist does that? An artist will say a piece speaks for itself, that it can't be explained, its up to the individual. This commentary on the trailer is great, good satire. This represents this, that represents that. That just isnt good art. Did Leonardo Davinci 'explain' the Mona Lisa's Smile? and what its supposed to represent?
