  • amazing.

  • is that guy in the chair tripping ?

  • So who is Alex?

  • @MTM391 the guy dancing

  • i love edie on this and love this remake scene on Factory Girl

  • i like that guy's eyebrow

  • Edie was breathtaking and the most graceful young woman that ever lived.

  • Edie is sooooooooooooo beautiful here!

  • That man may have had to visit a chiropractor after that dance. My neck hurts after just watching.

  • INCREDIBLE!

  • watched it twice! loved it both times

  • The less you know about American cinema & about Andy Warhol, the less this film will mean something to you. The more you know about them, the more interesting "Vinyl" becomes. You don't have to be gay to appreciate it, but it helps.

  • Gerard Malanga struts his seXXXy stuff

  • Adaptation of : A Clockwork Orange.

  • No, it's not. The full version is 70mins long and it's an adaptation of Burgess' novel A Clockwork Orange.

    It's not meaningless.

  • im almost positive this is not the whole thing?

  • i think im in love with that lady......''whats the movie called??? someone tell me

  • @TrisLaw It's "Vinyl".

  • @xXPinkGoddessXx Ya I ended up figuring that out :P I watched it along with ciao manhattan poor little rich girl and factory girl haha.

    She is breathtaking

  • andy warhols art/movies may be meaningless and pointless but thats what makes them famous.

  • I Appericiate Andy Warhols Vision But To Me No One Can Stanley Kubricks Adaptation Of The Film.

  • @tictixtiv I totally agree.I think he is trying 2 do Godard on the cheap and utterly fails at it.

  • Ahhh Drugs

  • Andy was so pumped about his pretty dancing boy that he forgot that he was making a movie.

  • whats the song its great ;:)

  • @Nuxavier1 Nowhere to Run by Martha and the Vendellas :)

  • I don't get how this is A Clockwork Orange.

  • @doorsfan4ourever exactly

  • @doorsfan4ourever Me neither, O brother.

  • God thank you thank you thankyou

  • I have all 7 pts posted!!!!!

    Brand new

  • I HAVE ALL & PTS POSTED CHECK IT OUT

  • this song is played in the movie The warriors

  • Oh dang that kid gets down.

  • This is a very sick movie. And I have seen the whole thing. The only good parts are when Edie and Gerard dance - but that is amazing to see! I mean they really move!

  • the dude got the boogie. edie could not hold back... although her feet were in cement.

  • typical warhol yawn fest devoid of a script, proper structure and populated by space cadettes-he just runs the camera and gets sheer tedium.truly cringeworthy, insulting +annoying, man

  • can someone explain to me how this is similar to a clockwork orange. I cant see any resemblence to the movie or book

  • whats this film about, does anyone know?

  • @merch2millions Warhol's adaptation of A Clockwork Orange.

  • its based on the book " a clock work orange "

  • Its the beginning of e downstair for edie

  • what is the name of the song again?

  • "who let the straight eat all the acid?"

  • A prostitute was asked what her pimp did, and she said, "He don't do nothin', but he do that better than anybody." Edie Sedgwick reminds me of that.

  • well... this movie is basically is an test project of adapting "a Clockwork Orange" to a film; From my point of view.

  • @MarioStarN duhh you can read that online genius

  • Is that the milk bar?

  • this whole movie is a patience test

  • @bamboszebabuni i think all of andy warhol's movies are. at least most.

  • andy warhol is a sorry excuse for an artist

  • @Rirrron-

I give you a thumbs down for that comment.

  • @Rirrron-

    Wow your cool..

    Idiot

  • This movie looks to me like such of the "movies" people make with their camcorder and show on very litte private tv networks.

  • This is Clockwork Orange?

  • It is based on the novel. Warhol bought the rights, before Kubrick did.

  • he is the worst director of all times, because he never direct.. he let his actors free, so there is no glamour, but only pure humanity..

    but his films are amasing.

  • Comment removed

  • i dont see what youre problem is... the fact that he is the worst director, doesnt meen that his movies sucks.. i love them, but because of the way how he is directing, should people call him an artist who is experimenting with movies instead of a director, who is ( i agree with you in this part) making a formulaic hollywood movie. but again he doesnt direct the actors in the way of saying what to do.

  • wow, good point. Ya, I was kind of looking for reasons to be pissed that day, my bad.

  • never mind.

  • "he let his actors free, so there is no glamour, but only pure humanity."

Actually I think true glamour exists in his films because of that. Most of today's Hollywood 'glamour queens' are just ordinary people assisted by skilled technicians, whereas Andy had a fascination for the innately glamorous. Stripping his films of typical studio devices made it easier to tell the real thing apart from the contrived. If Edie was a starlet of today it would be a lot harder to appreciate her.

  • Andy Warhol is considered to be one of the worst directors of all times, but theres something about his films that is haunting to me . . . idk what it is

  • I remember this from art school. Our film prof told us to watch out for the chicken dance. We all roared with laughter. Edie Sedgwick is so elegant and graceful in this film - it's like watching a swan... and a crazy chicken!

  • love how the man with the scary laugh is laughing 4 no apparent reason!

  • I<3edieee

  • is this the whole thing?

  • No, the whole thing is about 30 minutes long, I think.

If anyone reading this has the whole film, please upload it!

  • yeah i agree. i wanna see it.

  • You definitely don't want to sit through this fucking piece of torture!

  • 70minutes

  • I'm picturing Malcolm McDowell dancing to this song now.

    L.O.L.

  • andy warhol stole jack smith's shtick

forced it on to stupid rich hipsters

    meaningless garbage

  • Utterly meaningless. But Edie looks great.

  • @giannireb68 not meaningless if you understand the Warhol aesthetic and if you saw it

  • @giannireb68 Utterly meaningless? Are you serious? Obviously, you haven't seen the whole thing, or paid attention.

  • I think they good job copying this in Factory Girl

  • "Factory Girl" was called "Edie for dummies", it was so idiotic and did not represent Edie in any truth at all whatsoever! If you have any interest in the real Edie watch her last movie "Ciao Manhattan" or read "Edie:An American Biography" it disgusts me to see someone so misrepresented after death, because no one was there to tell the truth.

  • Didnt see that in Clockwork Orange!

    O.o

  • edie totally steals the show here with her hypnotic arms.

  • lol wtf does this have to do with a clockwork orange

  • "Vinyl (1965) is a black-and-white experimental film directed by Andy Warhol at The Factory. It is an early adaptation of the novel A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess"

  • I just re-read your question and it suddenly became clear. I realise you were most likely asking how this movie shares even one resemblence to the book. Sorry :D

  • andy based this scene on the book

  • Is the one that's dancing supposed to be Alex? lol

  • is that woman on drugs! D;

    thats Edie Sedgwick! The superstar,

    she could of been huge!

its amazing to see remake 'Vinyl' in the

film 'Factory Girl' against the original!

    Love it!

    Liamxxxx.

  • Warhol rlz!!

  • that is some smexy dancing on gerard malanga's behalf. ;)

  • Anyone know the name of this song?

  • Nowhere to Run by Martha & The Vandellas

  • I think this is the first film adaption of "A Clockwork Orange." It's either this or a TV movie that appeared on the BBC way back when Anthony Burgess' book first came out. But it's def before Kubrick began even writing the script for the one we all know and love.

  • What is the name of this song?

  • is that woman on drugs too? she looks a bit left out, not very cool either

  • "that woman" is Edith Minturn Sedgwick and of course she was on drugs. Her maid cooked up a spoonful of speed for her every morning

  • wtf was that

  • That's it?

  • This actually looks typical of a YouTube video... OH MY! It was futuristic filmmaking!

  • it was made in the 60's

  • I know. That's why I said it was futurisitic.

  • ^-^

  • I went to see this in London a few years ago. By the end of it, the whole audience was rolling around laughing. Everyone was sitting there in respectful silence to begin with, then one person started giggling, and gradually the whole room followed, like the Emperor's new clothes. Seriously, this is THE WORST FILM EVER MADE. It''s really enjoyable to watch though, if you're in the right mood.

  • Everyone argues on YouTube..

This.. It's been a while XD

  • They were all young, and on MANY drugs... all the time. No wonder his films never had much of a point. I mean, they are kind of cool.... To me they give a glimpse of what things were like back then, but nothing more. Just a bunch of people wasted, sitting around talking about themselves. Now most of them are dead before their time or totally burned-out. Such a shame.

  • Actually Andy Warhol didn't do drugs. He was terrified of them. I think he was just a little loopy. But we are still talking about him today so he did something right.

  • we do love martha reeves!!!!!

    LETS GO TO 60S HEAVEN

  • is this the early version of "Clockwork Orange"?

or where can i find it?

  • Don't you think it's more reminisent of Reefer Madness with the crazy guy laughing?

  • i read on Wikipedia that Warhol had made an eary version of Clockwork Orange.

I thought it was this one.

    maybe not.

  • Weeellll, in the backround they have whips and chains, with some dude pouring candle wax on another dude. Like they were all suppose to be a gang of Bad Asses or something like that.

  • On my Response video it's a lot more clear of what they are doing in the backround with a guy tied up on a chair. Maybe Warhol did a spin off the book.

  • This actually an Andy Warhol film called Vinyl, and Edie Sedgwick is the beautiful girl stitting to the right.

  • my personal opinion on warhol. His art is nothing special. this is just way too offbeat for most people to understand and appreciate. it's fine and all for those who do like it, but most people won't. I think his art is extremely mediocre. It's art for those who need their art spoon food to them. but as a man, he was different, which I respect.

  • he would love your comment. mediocre is exactly what he was going for, if not worse...

  • which is not my thing. I personally love art, but this I don't. I'm not saying that he didn't anything special. there has to be a reason he's so famous. but I think he's too famous for what he's done.

  • there are plenty of people who would agree with you. probably andy too, even though he may not have admitted it. Some days I find him completely inspiring, some days I fucking hate him. so, i can definitely respect your opinion...

  • He discovered The Velvet Underground, i dont need to say anything else.

  • Actually, I fucking like this movie.

Better than the 90% of the Hollywood shit you can find at the cinema today.

  • oh thts gerard tht was dancing like a freak!lol god he had eyebrows like bert from sesame street//lol

  • They're high on acid---that's all. Why would anyone think that's important enough to make a film about unless they were taking acid themselves. On the day Robert Kennedy was shot and killed Andy was also shot. Can you guess why?

  • Andy was shot two days before Robert Kennedy was

  • what the fuck is this shit?

this has nothing to do with a clockwork orange

  • the guy out of frame is a droog, i think. edie looks hot. that dude with the sweet moves looks like that other dude from the sopranos.

  • gerard had big eyebrows! edie was so beautiful

  • Gawd.. this is horrible. It doesn't matter if you take it at face value or try to find some kind of deep meaning. Warhol is so over rated.

  • True, he was great at other forms of art-certainly not film. As Dana Gioia wrote "No director in human history has ever made or will ever make worse movies. Warhol makes Ed Wood look like Ingmar Bergman."

  • i hate to disagree with u and dana but this film kicks ass! as far as wood and bergman are concerned i would take plan 9 over wild strawberries any day of the week twice on saturdays even on holidays. ur kind of a film snob aint ya?

  • if i had a time machine i would go back and party with edie<3

  • me too, me too =)

  • Hahahaha. I love this! It's just so........I don't know, random. Lol. A moving painting is how I look at it. Or a moving photograph of the same scene and actions. Don't look so deep into it. People are taking things too seriously.

  • I agree. I think that was part of his whole thing. forcing people to look at things superficially.

  • I DON'T GET IT

  • i Know Beefhart Made The First Real So called Music Video In '72, but think about it This Could Well Be Also. think About the way he leaft the WHOLE Song play..... Wit

  • warhol was one of the greatest art banalizator

  • would have loved to be among them...getting high with edie!:)

  • i read in an article that this is andy's interpretatiion of a clockwork orange. WTF was andy retarded? lmao

  • That´s not the whole movie. I haven´t seen it, but read, that it is about a juvenile delinquent named Victor who loves to torture and then get brainwashed, what makes him peaceful (Just like in the novel "A Clockwork Orange".

  • ohhh okay

man i cant ever find any warhol films :(

  • NOBODY EVER PAID MONEY TO SEE THESE MOVIES! They didn't play in art movie houses that showed foreign movies, or colleges. That's why you can't find them.

  • i love you EDIE!

  • this is funny to me. had some unknown made this film or something like this film, half of the people that comment would give them such shit, but since its Warhol its art. hmmm...

  • It is Warhol, It is art, but most of all it IS SHIT!

  • if you made this in your basement, i would love you forever,

    but..

    you didnt now did you?

  • he's so into it! :)

  • la famosa danza de las cadenas, al fin

  • Gerard Malanga is so hot. Still is.

  • It's kind of fun, but I wouldn't call it "to die for." No.

  • Man I can't believe I was lucky enough to see this Big peice of shit film. I almost all films I watch credit, but this film is like the definition of what a bad movie is. lol. good fun.

  • Can someone upload the whole movie, pretty please?!!!!!!!

  • this is stupid but kinda like it at the ame time...

  • what song is this?

  • The song was "Nowhere To Run" by Martha & The Vandellas. This song was a great hit, released in 1965, the same year "Vinyl" was shooting by Warhol. Malanga enjoyed it, as shown, jitterbugging throughout a big trip. Very Factory, before The Velvet Underground arrive.

  • Thank you. I've just seen that your answer was also posted on this 'sound' version. My comment was about another video with no sound to it, and your reply was also posted on that one.

  • kind of an original youtube movie, bored people with a camera making a vlog..... who know.

  • hahahha are you serious?

  • that was directed to ; sfbayimages

  • awful eyebrows i'll have a nightmare about them

  • Do you have the whole movie?

  • thats messed up..

  • i don't understand who's the star here - the dancer or his eyebrows??

  • ROFL, oh my god.

you, sir/madam have made my day.

  • Well, SOMEBODY likes to dance

  • yeah he's Malanga. My personal opinion is that Warhol was a more effective artist behind the camera than on canvas. Expecially the first movies, they were true extreme experimentation that bent every rule of filmaking, a punk "I don't give a fuck" attitude without any commercial purpose. The opposite of most of his painting that were claimed "commercial art" by Warhol himself. I think that Warhol had his own precise idea of filmaking, it was not mindless point and shoot like some says.

  • Malanga in the white t shirt right?

  • NICE

  • Maybe I'm getting carried away here, but I think her arm movements are very graceful.

  • did she not study ballet?

  • Ballet and Jazz dance. Her legs show that she worked very hard at it. Her artwork was realistic, looked good. She could have been a professional illustrator. In a way, she was disciplined.

  • I enjoy watching that man dance :]]

Hopefully they have the movie somewhere online, cause I wanna see it :]

  • wonderful laugh

  • it's such a time warp!
