The way they juztaposed the scene with Phil (which dealt with death and humiliation) with the Soprano family scene (which dealt with new life and opportunity) was really clever writing by Chase & co. I remember watching this bit the first time it was broadcast and it sent chills up my spine. Probably the best Drama show ever concieved.
