A cheat that I managed to find is as follows: hit start, press select 16 times, a square should show up in the bottom left, you hold down a and b at the same time and press left and right to move the square, then press up and down on the numbers (lives or coins or time) to make those numbers go up and down

The best platformer on the original GB and a game that stands alongside Tetris. Why Nintendo never made a colour update for the GBC like Zelda DX baffles me.

Donkey Kong Land was also a great GB platformer.

Funny that the first wario land game was technically a mario land game like the events of six golden coins where wario gets kicked out of the kingdom is the very reason why he's there to begin with. I'd love to play a wario land game where you actually have to duke it out with mario.

I remember when this game came out, I had no interest because of Wario. How times have changed, he's awesome. It was a great game obviously that I ignored at the time. I love how Wario is still a lazy greedy slouch after all these years. Wario you can save the princess...eh, Wario you can save the galaxy...bleh, Wario there is a treasure chest full of coi....WAAA! ALRIGHT!!!! Wario rocks!

I loved this game so much as a kid. I played it all the time until I got a 100% perfect game with as much money as you can possibly get, and then I continued to play it and do so to this day.

There isn't much colour conversion with this game? Only Wario and items are really coloured. Everything else is just given a tint of blue or more grey.

It's a very fun game, and should definitely be available on the 3DS Virtual Console. No excuse. Not to mention, the sequels.
