@whiteyb9 one of my favorites is mixolydian, over funky stuff. In this case mixolydian would be playing the notes of the G major scale over this. also dorian is okay, which are the notes of C major. I say notes because its important remember that you are in D, not G or C. Also D major works ok. GL!

@prankbros954 It's the chords in a 12 bar blues progression. In this case D G A. You simply take the first, fourth, and fifth notes from the D Major Scale to find them. D Major Scale - D E F# G A B C#. You get D G A.

Nice feel for tenor sax, too. Nobody's home this morning, I found this, cranked it good and 'went to town' with it. Made it a Favorite, in fact. I'll shriek to it on the Flute, too.

Bet this isn't News to lots of jammers, but going up a minor third and thinking Fmaj7 (and another 3rd to Am9) yields some nice room to run and arpeggiate.

hanging on an E note (the 9th) when you're deep into the jam can summon up some nice "Arabian Funk" or however you think of that gate to the outside.

Probably not the only way or the best way to do it but I have an USB audio out gizmo on the laptop and I can go into the Digitech JamMan loop station and record the audio from the laptop as an MP3 file on the Digitech. Then use the JamMan to play the tracks for practice or live, and / or hook the JamMan up by USB and it becomes an external drive with all the MP3 files on it that you played into it. It converts anything you can play on the laptop to MP3
