Since Elmdor and the Assassin's attacks aren't really avoidable, why don't you use a long bow (e.g. the windslash bow) to deal a little more damage if you hit through blade grasp?

on some of these random battles i keep thinking. man if he went back to using a bow and boots he'd have a lot less evasion, but he'd also be raping these monsters/npcs from a far and kiting them from safety.

@Archael7 I actually believe that was VERY helpful ;) most damage came from ultimas, having a positive sign would mean to die after an ultima hit instead. Would be interesting to check if it's doable without worst-sign. the muramasa simply turns to be too painful I fear

@Archael7 I am not sure, but I do remember that with the Bolt 2, you hit harder than with a Gastrafitis shot by a little bit. Since you aren't dodging a throw like I did, I would say you have a better chance of winning. You are wearing a Flash Hat right? That does make Bolt 2 stronger. I would give it a try.
