I have iLIfe 06 and I want to upgrade to iLife 09. The problem is I have a bunch of old projects in the old garageband version that I still need to work on. If I upgrade to 09 will I still be able to work on the 06 arrangements? In otherwords, is the new garageband backwards compatible?

Can you tell me if there is any way to import a Mp3 into garage band? I made a song and saved it as a Mp3. Now I would like to re-work the song but I can't figure out how to get it back into garage band.

you should be able to just drag that Mp3 into GarageBand, and have it play from there. or if its in iTunes, just go the media button, search for the song, and drag it to the timeline.

yes you have to pay for Garageband 09...it comes when you buy iLife 09. with iLife 09 you get iMovie, iPhoto, iWeb, iDVD and Garageband.

for the dragging and dropping you will need 09

but when i showed you how to record a voice and edit, and make the beats by typing the keyboard....that is all 08.

But with Magic Garageband it is all simple!
