@cupcakkerobber ive seen the video that goes with the live song your listining to, this is like what the sound tech guy [the guy with the control board whos normally behind the stage recording live tracks for cds] this is the mix he hears comming over his head phones, from the sound of it, he has the croud microphones turned way down, if you have the live cd [not the dvd] of DEVO live 1982, the mix sounds the same, its live, but no croud noise. hope this helped

I love the whole helmet thing, it's like the Daft Punk trade mark...not to show their faces. It allows them to constantly be shrouded in mystery...sounds corny, but it is quite awesome! The whole concept of the masks is amazing, so props to whichever of the two came up with it. Plus the helmets look really cool.
