The Chords have reformed with all 4 original members (So have Purple Hearts and Secret Affair amongst others), doing a UK tour next month (August 2010) and have a new single 'Another Thing Coming' out on 9th August! I've heard it and it's pretty damned good (Was on a BBC radio Newcastle programme 'Beat Surrender' last week. Link is still on iPlayer I think. Single is on about 1hr30 mark, Buddy is talking for a few minutes before this too).

DeptfordPete - I heard Pope's new album saturday and it blew me away - it's a masterpiece. Hand on my heart it's got to be Chris Pope's finest work to date - oh and Micky Talbot is featured on this one! One track 'Making Nountains' actually gave me goosebumps.
Don't talk shit man. THE JAM are absolutley unique. No band can sound like The Jam!!I think The Chords were a very talented band and full of potential. Too bad they never got the breakthrough and broke up so quick. Mods forever !
What gets me is how young this audience is.Here in America,the handful of people who knew who these guys were at the time were roughly 20-45,at the time,and read about them,in collector-oriented magazines,like "Trouser Press","Goldmine",or else little underground xeroxed punk 'zines.
