  • i want all the baby color chicks in this world and they have to be sky blue!!!!! LOL

  • how do you get them that color?

  • I have a pet chicken myself but she's mean and pecks the shit out of me lol her name is clucks!

  • sweet!!

  • And here I thought people have messed with some biology to MAKE them that color. :P

  • So awesome that you saved those little boys. In the egg industry, the male chicks are killed at birth, since they are useless, or if they are lucky are sold as entertainment during easter, like this. Good work, these are too lucky little boys :)

  • where did u buy them? ahhhh! perfect as a present for my farm girl/ sister friend :)

  • u also have a cute parrot

  • I love you chickys ♥ :'(

    What a sad thing.

  • they die after like 2 weeks

  • you thought they were dipped in paint?

  • they are adorable and I'm glad they found a good home

  • cute how much did u pay ?

  • @vickie2491 They were 25 cents, at most 50 cents each, I don't remember clearly

  • chicks are food, not paintings

    derp

  • @chaosbringer127 its most likely a water based dye, the chicks prob dont even care:3

  • gorgeous

  • i want one !!!

and i read the description mabe there gay? (probly not but who knows)

  • so cutee

  • i wish they stayed this size forever!C:

  • @desiree81108 That'd be awesome

  • i just dun like chicks stained orange or blue

  • Vegetable dye is a lot better than paint. Plus, I am happy that they are in a better home since they were saved from that dump of a shop.

  • Baby chicks actually need to be kept under 95 degrees when born and the temperature has to go down 5 degrees every week......so the pet shop knew what they were doing.(besides the dye) Also, kids are not dumb. I am a kid and i own 7 chickens (from the day they were born)alone with no help over care. That shows that kids CAN be responsible.

  • @mummygrl591461 kids can be, like you, but others are just little brats :]

  • @mummygrl591461 well, "little CARELESS kids" ur not careless :O she/he didnt say specificly all kids are careless and dumb O_O

  • MY GOD! SOOOOOOOOOO CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

  • It's just food coloring/Vegetable dye that is inserted into the egg after a period of time, the embryos absorb the coloring and when they hatch their fuzz is whatever color is used. In certain cases depending on the dye that's used they will grow back into their original color, other times it's permenant but the dye doesnt harm them, just makes them look like skittles xD

  • the blue and white one looks like a pokemon named swablu :3 they look so cute!!!

  • theres a cockatiel in the backround:)

  • 0:42 ha ha the parrot in the back is funny :)))

  • at least the DYE won't make them DIE!! GET IT!?!? ah, never mind.

  • @krakelak I get it, buy its not so funny.

  • los pollos pintados se mueren 8C

  • They were alive for more than two years. One of them died last year due to eating some dead rodent at my grandparents house. The other is alive and he is close to THREE years old. So yes, they die quickly if they are bought by little careless kids. But I actually care for my animals.

  • @ShadowxofxDesolation which one die the orange one or the blue one??

  • aww! they're so cute!

  • Comment removed

  • Not cruel. It is JUST VEGETABLE DYE. The embryos are not hurt, therefore there is no cruelty in the process. Now, yes, there is cruelty when it is done and most of the people just get them for their kids, and then they end up dying due to lack of proper care.

  • @Oldwag12 its non toxic dye dumbass and it fades as they get older so get a life and a chicken leg

  • oh sooooooooo cute

  • their color looks so something I forgot what i was gonna say...lol =D

  • I like Dilbert His color is so fancy

  • How much do they sell them for?

  • I guess Polly is searching for the TV remote.

  • this is illegal mann

  • Loved that cockatiel coming through to check things out :D

  • you're a good person for saving them.....you have my respect...hope you save some more chicks

  • Thank you very much! I will certainly save many more in the next years. =)

  • can u plz plz plz plz plz tell me how to paint them!

  • Sorry. It can only be done by professionals and it is not that simple.

  • The ink gets into the egg by means of syringes and the chick is born of the chosen color.

  • Dying chickens makes them even cuter ^^

  • Ya no there just gonna die. I should know i live on a farm. at most they live about...a month

  • How does that have any relevance to my comment? By "dying" I meant "coloring"

  • Well, you live on a farm yet you're wrong.

They've been alive now for 2 years, so you're about...23 months wrong on that guess. =)

They were dyed with vegetable coloring, therefore no damage was done to the embryo. If they died, it would have been by any illness they had before I got them. All of them looked healthy though, and are still alive and happy. =)

  • Way to take my typo out of context.

  • I did?

  • I don't live on a farm, and I spelled "dye" (color) wrong. I was commenting on how coloring them this way makes then cuter.

  • It's spelled "dyeing," in that case. :)

  • lol "dying" not "dyEing"

  • Do they by any Chance have them in Canada?

  • I have not seen them there yet(I am living in Winnipeg now) which sucks... but I guess it is not possible to keep them outside all year long =/

  • I like how cautious Polly looks in the background. It's like she's tiptoeing through a minefield.

  • "coloring" chicks is illegal

  • @shplaaaa no...it isn't...?

  • where you get them? how much were they? please reply! XDDD

  • lol. They're available in Puerto Rico at random times in pet shop, varying from 25 to 75 cents each =)

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks for the useless comment. ;)

  • It's not like there emotionally scarred from being re-colored. I think it looks kinda cute. It's still mean

  • lol the blue one conks out right away. x>

  • I always wanted one!

  • Does their natural colouring eventually come back?

  • yeah! In about 2-3 months they will shed their feathers. It's like temperary dye you know.

  • @naomi298 ya as they grow the color will fade

  • @naomi298 Yes because this is just their down feathers, which will eventually fall out to be replaced by long course feathers. :]

  • I have given animals second chances. I have two rescued dogs and dedicate my spare time to working with animals at a local farm animal sanctuary in addition to advocating for animals on the streets. Did you buy them this way, or did you rescue them? I meant that it was disgusting that the animals were dyed and purchased for such a novelty.

  • I decided to save them because my grandparents have a farm and they have many chickens so I knew they could have a chance there(by the way they are alive and happy right now), and I have been helping animals for years(as you may know, Puerto Rico has over 100,000 stray dogs and cats). It sucks they dyed them, and they also had them with no water. The owners of many pet shops here don't really care if they sell them or not because these little guys are just leftovers and useless for them. =/

  • If you don't approve of the practice, don't encourage it by BUYING THE BIRD!

  • I didn't really encourage anything, as they(owners) don't really care if they sell them or not. It just comes down to seeing these little guys all cramped in a small cage about to die and deciding to ignore it or trying to save some and give them a chance to live. =)

  • this is disgusting.. you should truly be ashamed of this.

  • If your read the description, she said she did not dye the birds. She resuced them from a petshop that did and brought them to live on a farm, happily. :)

  • Thanks for the comment! Though I am not a 'she' but a 'he', lol.

  • Oh, sorry. My bad. :)

  • is that how big they are going to get? also are they good pets? i want one but my mom said no they arent good pets

  • These were babies... they are as big as roosters usually are. =) they are probably about 7 times bigger

  • they smell HORRIBLE.

  • Yep, if you leave them walking on their own crap they do. ;)

  • oh my god they are sooo cute!!!! =) i am so dying my chicks!!

  • Comment removed

  • are they trained to use a litter tray or anything? if so, how?

    p.s they are very cute!

  • I like both natural and unnatural colors in pets but I'm against dye/color jobs when it's harmful to the animal, other harmful things, and it's sad when animals are kept all smushed together, especially on a hot day....

  • THEY ARE SO CUTE!!! thank you for taking care of them! I love chickens!

  • in indonesia they do this to, dye the chicken, in case you dont know, they dip the chicken into the water that is mixed with the coloring powder, and then put them under the sun to dry it ]: i personally think that's cruel.

  • Here they use a more humane method and inject the egg with vegetable dye.

  • oh thanks god.

  • Don't know about that. It seem rather tame compared to what they go through at the processing hatchery. Being tossed around, jammed into boxes like sardines and literally squeezing the poop out of them. A dye bath and then some time in the sun sounds kind of relaxing. The only way it could seem inhumane is If the dye is harmful to their skin. The real bad part is when the dyed birds are sold as pets, then abandoned when they get older and are no longer cute.

  • easter chickens

  • Nope, they are sold all year long like this.

  • lol@thebird

it like pops its head up. x]

  • omg were do you get them from :)??????????/

  • soooooooooo ADORABLE!

  • the color will come off when their new feather come in.

  • Super Ultra cute :)

  • They're so cute. Just a question though, why did the pet shop owner dye them? lol

  • I'm guessing, but i think it's because he wants them to sell quickly/

  • They usually do that to determine what kind of type of chick, o__o thats all.

  • no, loli ...it doesn't have anything to do with determining type of chick....there's no need to dye animals to determine type that's stupid....it's like others have said - colorful chicks attract many people unfortunately stupid kids that don't know how and won't take care of pets properly are especially attracted to colorful animals (at least until the novelty wears off which is often quick for kids especially when they realize they have to be responsible for the animal)

  • OMG!!There SOOO cute!

  • how did you do that lol ?

  • y r they orange and blue?!!?! still cute

  • Cute ones.

  • OMG!!!!!! SOOOO CUUUUTE!!!!!

  • that is sickeningly cute!!! :)

  • People who complain about food coloring on chicks need to get in a lab some day lol.

  • wat kind of chicks are those there precious haha

  • Thank you for leaving an immature and uninformed comment! ;) people like you make me laugh out loud. Thanks!

  • They're cute. I like the blue one best of all. :)

  • soooo cute ^^

  • first time i see chiks of these colors.

  • Aww!

  • They are so cute and I agree with you- they look better in their natural colour. I saw a film called "Barakah" recently which had some horrific scenes of the way battery chickens are raised and that was a real wake up call for me. I think there should be a law against breeding animals in battery farm conditions. The RSPCA are called if someone is cruel towards 1 dog but when MILLIONS of chickens are kept in tiny cages their whole lives nobody bats an eyelid??? Where's the sense in that?

  • I don't get why people get

All mad just because these chicks got

    Dyded... THEY ARE ALIVE!!

    That's the important part

  • I don't have a problem with them being dyed, it's what happens to them after children get them for Easter and then tire of them soon after. They are treated like a throw away pet... :*(

  • I second that, all the bright, flashy christmass light colors do is make people feel inclined to buy these chicks.

  • I don't have a problem with pets being dyed either unless they used a cruel method and poisonous dye or whatever and the "throwaway pet" syndrome stupid kids suffer from because they're too immature but mommy and daddy will give them a/the pet anyway

  • 0:43 hey hey camera person look at me f those chicken look at me look at my sexy pose. Lol thats what i thought of when that other bird came in the picture.

  • how did you dye thier hair!!!!!!!!

  • Since when birds have hair?

  • Read all of the info before commenting dumbass. Then it will tell you how their "hair" got dyed. (btw they are feathers)

  • they r cute,,, love it when that other bird pops up from nowhere lol xx

  • 0:44 Lol!

  • I'm glad you saved them. It makes me sick to see pet shop owners dye baby chicks stupid colors just so they will sell more. Chickens are not like goldfish and they can/will die of loneliness.

  • omg this is just too cute! aaaarrrrggggghhhhhhh

  • They are so cute!! I'm glad you save them!!!

  • stupid fucking birds

  • yo do you dye chicks?

  • A SHINY DUCK! very rare XD

  • What kind of idiot dyes an animal? Honestly! Go Miss Clairol your own hair!

  • greenpeace does

  • how did u get these colored chix? msg me plz

  • u use dye

  • WHAT???!!! THAT'S CRAZY!!! Wudnt they die or somethin???

  • have u seen like a dog hes white then like someone dies them red?same kinda thing

  • your ducks are beautiful!!!!

  • they r not ducks!!!!

  • DUCKS!?! XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • they are both soooooo cute!!!!!

  • that is so cute, and the names are awesome !

  • Very cute! And awesome that you saved them and they're happy. How long does the dye color last?

Also, I think Polly needs a bath. How often do you spray him/her? Feathers don't look too good.

  • Aww that is the cutest thing ever! their colors are so cute!! Even though I know you didnt do it..thats nice of you to get them out of that pyscho pet shop Lol!

  • hahah I like Polly checkin out the scene in the background. Good on ya for saving two baby chicks!!

  • aww, they r so cute, but who's POlly, is that the bird walking around in the background?

  • omg so cute :D

  • how do you get your chicks that color????

  • some pple sell them at streets but the 50% of chickens are colored cuz they have a skin problem :/ but this chickens are so cuuute and healty :)

  • lol that cockateel ma fav :) i luvers tha chickeees too tho. they r adorable. congrats on savin em :))) they owe ya one lol

  • thats the most beautiful thing ive ever seen! screw all the people who are getting so mad about their colour, its not like YOU did that, you were saving them. and personally, i think they look freakin awesome with the colours, even though i would never do that myself.

  • I like how the bird attempts to steal the show.

  • hehehe so cute i used to have 2 chicks that were also best friends

  • Glad you saved them!! They're so cute!! ^_^

  • soo,you can use veggie dye,how about food coloring?you know, like put the food coloring in a bowl, pour in some water n slowly dip them?idk, i guess it would be temporary

  • I'm not sure about that. But I guess their feathers would still absorb the food coloring. Still, I don't think it would be good to dip them in water... they're very sensitive when they are that young and that could easily trigger something and make them sick. It's probably better to buy one that is already dyed.

  • How, are Dilbert and Miltion? Did they lose their color?

  • HAHAHA I love how your cockatoo comes out of nowhere, looks at them, and goes away on his own business!!! Hilarious! :D

  • I have the same reaction!

  • they are so cute

    *good job saving them*

  • i agree with you i was going to get assy but after reading your info its nice you understand the downside to it good luck have there colours dyed out wile growning?

  • Thanks. I'm glad you read it, many people just judge these videos and start talking about the dye, saying 'omg u r stupid they cant inject dye in the egg they wud die u suck'.

They still have a tiny amount of color under their wings, which is crazy because they are about a year and a month old. It's funny when people tell me they were dipped in dye... if they had been dipped, it would have gone away in a month or two after molting, lol.
