I think they are kinda in between. A mix of like Backstreet Boys and Green Day, they have more guitar based songs and some are more punk/rock than pop/rock, but they have the ballads like boy bands, and they write their own songs and play the music, and are better than most "boy bands". I am a fan of JB (and BSB and Green Day) but you are right, some of their fans are crazy (I am not one of them thankfully) but some of them need to chill a bit, mainly the little tween girls that scream nonstop

i don't see punk rock at all...their lyrics are like lyrics that come from boy bands, maybe the music sounds just a little bit like punk rock but honestly i wouldn't say there a rock band...thats just me

well not so much their lyrics, more the sound (their older sound, and from the previews, their newer CD as well) and I know they arent a rock band, but I meant they are kinda a mix of rock and boy band! boy band with lyrics, rock with most of the sound (not hard rock lol) and yes, I kinda decided to steer clear of the concerts to avoid the crazy fans, just waiting til they come back to the House of Blues or something smaller.

I guess its because they know many of their fans are younger and want to appeal more to them, so they write what they feel but in a toned down version (but they say their new CD is more personal and intimate so hopefully more adult thoughts in the lyrics, and by adult I mean serious and good, not adult like... well Snoop Dogg or Buckcherry lol)

I completely agree. Its an added bonus that joe is amazingly gorgeous but to tell the truth, i fell in love with their music before i fell in love with their looks. i find the answers to some of my problems in the lyrics of their music so yeah i hate those people who only like their looks.
