  • You inspire me, brother. You cause me to remember what I was like when I was young in the faith. And that causes me to repent (turn back) to my original desire for God & his work. Keep pushing forward.

  • Hey Darren, as always I appreciate your comments! God Bless!!

  • Mines got to be Ruth, amazing gospel similes, Boaz the redeemer, and Ruth, even though she is a gentile is braught into the bloodline of the messiah! Great short book

Another point to encourage you to go deeper. Pick an old testimant minor prophet that you havnt read, lets say Nahum for arguments sake. On day your going to get to heaven, meet Nahum and he'll say "Hey I'm Nahum, have you read my book?" Great lil vid, remember all scripture is God breathed and useful! 2 Tim 3.16

  • Excellent points Tom. I do appreciate your comments and responses!! God Bless!!

  • i the Bible i do love Johns gospel but one i always love to read is Ruth. i think that her devotion to her moth in law is pure love, how she left her people even to the point of gleaming in the fields to provide food.

i think is shows a good message

  • A good message indeed. Thank you for your response! God Bless!!!

  • The Docrtine and Covenants.

  • The first book that pops into my head would be the book of John, because it teaches us to love one another. We should love one another and show that love by our actions. That's been one of my favs since I was a young child. Though that was the first book that I thought of, it's too hard to really pick a favorite because there are so many. One really good book is "A Marvelous Work and a Wonder" written by Legrand Richards. The book of Mormon is really awesome and worth reading also.

    Thanks :)

  • Your right the book of John is a great book. Thanks for you response! God Bless!!

  • You're most welcome. Anytime.

    And thanks for asking.

    Jen

  • i have 2 favorite books, the first one is The Bible, and the second one is The Book of Mormon, i learn a lot about our Savior Jesuschist in those 2 books....i know people is gonna start saying a lot of bad things about The Book of Mormon........thanks for sharing this video with me...oh and i love Revelations, it is very easy to understand it and thanks to the book of mormon i can understand it much better, but most important, thanks to the Holy Ghost.... =)

  • The Book of Mormon has many Bible verses in it. It is a faith promoting book although it was written by a man. Whoa! You understand Revelation? That one is a difficult book to unravel, at least for me it is.

  • First and foremost, the Bible is my all time favorite Book. As for my fav book inside the Bible, it's probably Romans, b/c it is primarily doctrinal about how we can be Saved.

After the Bible, it has to be "Hell's Best Kept Secret" by Ray Comfort. I highly recommend it to EVERYONE that claims to be a Christian.

  • Roman is a good chice.

Ray Comfort huh! I love that guy! Good response!!

  • How about that? Romans was always my fav. in the New Testament. The New Testament really hit me when I read it.

If you have time read Victor Hugos' "Les Miserable".

  • "the stranger" by Albert Camus

  • Cool brother. Is that fiction or non-fiction? Just curious..

  • Nothing trumps the Words in Red, but the prophets touch me. My 1st read thru the OT was lost on me, cause I didn't notice all the NT symbolism--it was a lot of details--not my strong suit. I was anxious to get to the NT & dreaded the prophets. But to my surprise, I LOVED them. Kinda even indentified w/them a little! "...everyone mocks me...But if I say, 'I will not mention Him or speak any more in His name,' His word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones."

    -Jeremiah 20:7-9

  • You are also a Man after God's own Heart my Friend

  • KJV Holy Bible is the only one we would always go back to ...Book of St.James 2John and the short but good book is The Book of St. Jude

  • I like Galatians because it defends the gospel of faith and is a vigorous attack against the gospel of works. Paul warns us of those who preach another gospel. We are told that we are justified by faith in Christ and by works of the law shall no flesh be justified. If righteousness come by the law, then Christ died in vain. We learn the law was given to bring us to Christ. If we are under the law, the yoke of bondage, we fall from grace and Christ becomes of no effect. His grace is enough!

  • I too love Galatians - But as you know johnyjamie for completely different reasons. ;-)

I Thank God that we don't have to rely on the vain interpretations of men in these latter-days.

  • Mine is revelation because it is so relevant now.I love how you have to interpret it by examining corresponding texts throughout the bible to decode symbolisms. The result of understanding it (as best you can)is rewarding.God's kingdom at last fulfilled!

  • Sometime tell me what you make of the Revelation - whatever parts interest you the most. It does seem relevant now, especially. When I first read the part about the woman (of God) who was spared for several years from the dragon that wanted to kill her, I thought it was Mary! But commentators say the woman is Israel. Fascinating symbolism.

  • If you are including secular books, I really love the Idiot by Fyodor Dostoevsky--which is an allegory to Jesus.

I am not sure if I used the right word (meaning similar to metaphor) because I have had a few beers.

  • Mark . . . the pure, uncorrupted unedited gospel.

  • Well said!
