Is your high scream meant to hurt your throat? I can do the lower growl and I can do the "O" just fine with no hurting, but when I try the higher ones I get to a point in my voice where it goes from me using my Diaphram to using my throat, like you said, my throat goes up and I can't do the higher one :c

from the beginning I have to say. lower growls (if you wanna do them great) use MORE air than flat highpitched screams. I for one can highscream or midscream longer than I can growl :p

What about properly high screams like at the start of Angel of Death, or like screams that Warrel Dane used in Sanctuary and Nevemore. Theres videos on all these different types of screams, but nothing on big falsetto screams, and they're the most awesome kind of all

The technical difference is how open your throat is and how much your soft pallet raises/lowers, and how much support you're giving your air. But like I said, picture the sound hitting behind your nose. Your body does the rest naturally, like reaching your arm out while you're not telling particular muscles to expand & contract.

@ImFeeNominal you need to develope a technique for screaming. you dont scream like when you're angry its a completely different technique, also make sure you are exhaling because when you inhale you can fuck up your throat and such, but its all about developing a technique
