Is it our fault as Americans that Japanese game makers create different intros and change things for American releases? It isn't. We grew to know this intro because that is what they released for us. No one is stopping anyone from posting the Japanese version. Try to focus on why this was really posted! To honor a great game and allow people who played it to relive.

Actually, every time I drive the Japanese cars I lose or win by a very narrow margin. With the American cars I win. The first time I wtf-pwned the entire competition was with the Corvette, and in GT4, I always drive the Charger '70 and I always win.

i have to says even i like the newer 1 i like the older ones better since it had a better gameplay but what rlly jumped out of gran turismo is the musics and i mean GT4 looks real but GT1 and GT2 still my fave GT series and when u run the car the speed looks like the right speed ur going

The best of them all. theres something about this, i dont know what it is, but it kicks the SH!T out of anything ive ever played. Maybe its coz u can tune up the Jap Tech cars like the Mitsub GTO and the Skylines up2 900hp, maybe its coz i grew up with this. I really dont have a clue, but i would play this over any other gran turismo, or any other game for that matter. =D

I think I know what it is - we were younger back then AND it was like nothing else. It was a huge evolutionary leap in racing games. It was like wow! From the intro to the licenses and earning money and buying upgrades. GT still sorta follows the same formula just with nicer graphics.l. So it's got less wow effect everytime in terms of playability. The graphics are always great though. But other games have that now..

You can say forza/ PGr.. BUT GRAN TURISMO DID what none of racing games ever did beffore..They made 100 cars in one game and a the same time they let you tune them in almost every aspect.

Sorry to bring up a 1 month old post but i got to agree with this. The gameplay of GT1 is still comparable to some games. And also i remember this as the only GT game in the series where you can actually do a proper burnout instead of spinning in circles.

That's fantastic... I remember the goosebumps I got as it built up each time I loaded it up, and when the yellow car crashes in with the sound intensifying - awesome! And what a gane it was too.. On a small TV the game still looks great even now!
