i've seen a lot of people in different types of martial arts do bouncing when they stretch. why is that? My health teacher told me it was bad to do that. But seeing as shes fat and martial arts experts are fit - I don't know who to believe.
@ihavemonkeysinmybutt HI SEE ANSWER ABOVE - BOUNCING IS OK BUT BEST NOT TO DO IN THE DEEP STRETCHES, IN THE DEEP STRETCHES DO 'PASSIVE' RELAXED STRETCHING.
@loxspliff1. SORRY NOT TRUE, I am 60 next year, been doing a bit of bouncing all my 38 years of training. I can still stretch better than most 20 year olds and have no muscle or joint problems. Kiley also does a bit and as you can see here he's fine. Its called 'Balistic Stretching' as opposed to 'Passive' and 'PNF' stretching. DONE LIGHTLY AS A WARM UP ITS FINE.
post a video for stretching legs that may help me do a 540 ..........;P

TIP FOR ALL YOUTUBERS! Do not bounce when you stretch as a beginner, it will come back to bite you in the ass
