I have very little Native American Heritage, I was curious to see if there was a video celebrating Native American Women (I don't see alot of Natives in any media) and I'm happy to come across this!! I think this is a beautiful video and I understand what your doing here!!! :)

look all i can tell you all is how it feels to be of mixed blood. i am 1/4 navajo and 3/4 caucasion. i grew up on the rez in northern az, born and raised. i know a lot of people who tell me they are ashamed to be native but for me i love it. even though growing up on the rez i had to deal with racism day in and day out, it sucked. i consider myself to be 100% native. i may be white on the outside but i am native to the bone. i speak my language, read and write it. fallow its ways.

All these women ain't no darker than olive complexion, and I have seen full blooded native americans with a rich brown close to a dark brown complexion. They had thick lips and big noses. If these are so called un mixed Native women, then you have a limited perspective on what is Native. By the way some of those women you used are in fact mixed with White.

Being indian isn't all about blood quantum, but you can't grow up in suburbia with white parents and call yourself indian. People don't realize that having an indian ancestor doesn't make you indian. @cherri7 yes i know the kalinago people are also found in central america, though they probably dont call themselves that in that area. i think some of my family has kalinago ancestry cause me and some of my relatives have curly hair and some of my uncles look like the kalinago people and they are all from michoacan mexico. i asked my mom and she said that we dont but i know its possible that we do cause we have the phenotype, oh well.
@josias619 Yep you are right. Mexicans do have Native American ancestry. That's why we have some similar features. I took several courses to learn more about my Mexican culture and according to what they thought me indigenous ppl come from North East Asia then traveled down to Canada, US, Mexico and so on.

What struck me, was the variety of features in these first nation models.
I do not see a problem here. Some are like the stereotypes, some are not. They are all gorgeous.
On heritage: there is no need to prefer one ancestry above the other. It all has it's value in becoming who You are, so, "they are all mixed, and thusly have no right to claim anything" argument is rubbish. It does NOT remove the First-Nation heritage from the blood line, it's just part of what there is to be proud of.
A lot of times, loss of blood also incurs loss of culture. That in turn is not true in every case, but statistically is the truth. A woman holding onto her culture through thick and thin, through required government assimilation, and intergenerational trauma is strength in the highest regard and that is true beauty...

@PrimitiveByNature: I probably sound a little opinionated, but few pictures of Natives I see today can light a candle to the old pictures of our Native grandmothers, mothers, of various tribes from times past. Theirs was beauty in the raw...rugged, strong, gentle, and pure. No props, no extravagance, just pure, natural beauty. That said, I realize females are going to fix up, it's just that many females have gone overboard.
Interesting discussion here. I get it that some are frustrated by what some people have put out as being Native. My biggest problem with youtube videos is that I see a lot of non-traditional people & mixed bloods that don't seem to be spiritually & otherwise connected at all to Native peoples. This is a huge problem for me. There are stereotypes that need to be banished on all sides. I tend to like older, pics from yesterday where the females were natural and true to tribal connection.

My family is French Canadian and Native American, and I find all the women in my family beautiful, and just because we're not 100% doesn't mean we don't have enough to be proud of our heritage.

most of these women these are native american women mixed with large amounts of European DNA... as is obvious by the typical facial traits of European women: 0:28 - straight nose, high cheek bones, also there is a theory that natives are part caucasoid as a result of the presence of Nordic European nomadic tribes of 14 000 years ago.

All these women ain't no darker than olive complexion, and I have seen full blooded native americans with a rich brown close to a dark brown complexion. They had thick lips and big noses. If these are so called un mixed Native women, then you have a limited perspective on what is Native. By the way some of those women you used are in fact mixed with White.

Being indian isn't all about blood quantum, but you can't grow up in suburbia with white parents and call yourself indian. People don't realize that having an indian ancestor doesn't make you indian. One of my great-grandparents was from Ireland, but I don't call myself Irish

This is a beautiful video but these women are not full blooded Native American either. And Jana will tell you she's got another race in her that she respects as she loves her family. We are all mixed race these days. No matter how much someone who "looks" full blooded says they are, they are more than likely mixed. I'm a Proud Native woman who modeled also. @josias619 yes it is in michoacan mexico. but i have lived in california my whole life. thats was a cool video i even heard him say the name of my tribe he said "tarasca" which is the false that the spanish gave us, we are purepecha...but pretty cool to hear a native from the north know about them. most people in U.S.A dont know about the tribes south of the border, and teachers never tell kids because they are not taught about it either.

@cherri7 yes i know the kalinago people are also found in central america, though they probably dont call themselves that in that area. i think some of my family has kalinago ancestry cause me and some of my relatives have curly hair and some of my uncles look like the kalinago people and they are all from michoacan mexico. i asked my mom and she said that we dont but i know its possible that we do cause we have the phenotype, oh well.

I took several courses to learn more about my Mexican culture and according to what they thought me indigenous ppl come from North East Asia then traveled down to Canada, US, Mexico and so on.

What struck me, was the variety of features in these first nation models.
I do not see a problem here. Some are like the stereotypes, some are not. They are all gorgeous.
On heritage: there is no need to prefer one ancestry above the other. It all has it's value in becoming who You are, so, "they are all mixed, and thusly have no right to claim anything" argument is rubbish. It does NOT remove the First-Nation heritage from the blood line, it's just part of what there is to be proud of.

I have seen so many videos on here of people doing "Native American Warrior Princess" makeup tutorials that made me ill. It is nice to see some actual Native women and not women covering themselves in makeup trying to look like they are Native. <3 It shatters the stereotypes of what Native womens are suppose to look like and shows what beautiful Native women DO look like. :)

@PrimitiveByNature: I probably sound a little opinionated, but few pictures of Natives I see today can light a candle to the old pictures of our Native grandmothers, mothers, of various tribes from times past. Theirs was beauty in the raw...rugged, strong, gentle, and pure. No props, no extravagance, just pure, natural beauty. That said, I realize females are going to fix up, it's just that many females have gone overboard.

Interesting discussion here. I get it that some are frustrated by what some people have put out as being Native. My biggest problem with youtube videos is that I see a lot of non-traditional people & mixed bloods that don't seem to be spiritually & otherwise connected at all to Native peoples. This is a huge problem for me. There are stereotypes that need to be banished on all sides. I tend to like older, pics from yesterday where the females were natural and true to tribal connection.

I am mixed with Native American and white but I have been told I look mexican and everything else but Native American. For me to see this video showed me I do look Native American and I am so proud! Native american women like the ones in the video are my cryptonite. i am part Siksika (Blackfeet) but that part of my family is so diluted it barely counts for anything. all the same i am proud of that part of my heritage and native american women are among the most beautiful this world has ever known. hopefully one day i can find me a nice copper skinned girl

While I agree that they're isn't enough Native American representation out there, don't hate on the mix girls. My family is French Canadian and Native American, and I find all the women in my family beautiful, and just because we're not 100% doesn't mean we don't have enough to be proud of our heritage.

@DanteElise I assume your comment was directed at me? Well I agree with you 100% and this videos is not about hating on people of mixed heritage. This video is intended to show that Native women are beautiful and that they don't have to look white or black to be so. In the other videos they show a bunch of girls that you wouldn't even know they were Native without someone telling you. It's like saying "yeah Native women are beautiful as long as they look white, black etc."

@PrimitiveByNature Oh I understand, it wasn't meant to be a hostile comment. I love this video and it is amazing. It was just more of a blanket statement for anyone who's intense about 'pure bloodlines' and what not.
