Ok I just got my new laptop today and it has windows vista on it and I can't get my Guild Wars to show up anywhere. Anyone know how to get it? I installed it under C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe

I'm glad you've figured it out. My suggestion for your issue would have been to check to see if it was installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars\Gw.exe

It made me the same thing, it is installed (for me) but there is not shortcut. Just create one as i did.

No, with this trick, it's not a hack, it's just to make things a little easier and more convienient. You still need an account, and there isn't any way to bypass paying for an account.

I done this but pls explai what is this downloading all updates gw will ever have or something similar i play for 3 years i never knew of thiss and every months there is some update i guess but does this download all updates sory if i sound noobish.

Basically what this does is download all of the current updates and maps for the game. Of course when new updates are sent out, you'll need to use the -image to download all of the new updates. You don't need to do this, but if you could update when your not playing instead of waiting for files to download when your mapping, why wouldn't you?

I know that the -image command still works, but with ANet always changing things, they could make it so that it doesn't work anymore. I have no idea if it does seeing as how I manually log in for my privacy on my computer.

I usually get around 200kb/s with my connection which for 650mb takes 55m

((650*1024)/200)/60) = 55.47m

Give or take as the speed would vary

I have a 2mbps connection and it didnt even take more than 1 hour.. I had installed and had the game running in around 1.5 hours..

lol thanks for the trick, but i think ill pass, if you have to redownload ALL of the updates just to save typing in 1 word...not worth it :P

you don't have to download them all over again every single time. its a one time deal. thats it. you only have to continue downloading when new updates for the game are available, but only those new updates are downloaded. all the files previously downloaded are still saved on your computer.

That's nice. I have a 3-5 mbps connection, but when I did this overnight, it froze (like yours may) and I had to do it in two seperate days. Still, it's better than waiting while playing! *<:0)
