People have to remember Bin Laden is to this generation as Hitler was to the GI generation. We celebrated in victory in the streets on V-E Day and V-J Day.
@dynamicmaxwell120 I have a hard time believing that. Terrorism has been a huge part of American life since the '70s and Bin Laden has been a part of the public consciousness since the WTC bombing of 1993. It's awesome that we got Bin Laden, and the Seals are amazing, but It wasn't a watershed moment in the history of terrorism -- we still clearly have a long way to go. These parties were just creepy as f*ck, and I still wonder who was behind organizing them.
@eboing You're absolutely correct, Bin Laden's death by is the end of Terrorism. I do agree that the celebration is rather awkward. However I'm not surprise that the youth is celebrating the event. We have to remember that the youth experienced 9/11 as children and to not only hear but see that people around the world hated them. Imaging what goes through a child's mind. My analogy is, the bandage came off but the scar is still there. These kids are celebrating the taking off of the bandage.
On September 11th ,2001 Human beings from 83 different countries lost their lifes. They were innocent human beings.. Brutally killed by a evil man. as many as 200 people had to jump or fell to their death at an unimaginable height Ppl was tortured and suffered while dying. Of course Ppl are going to have something to feel Say about Ladens Death.
Oh, and going by your standard, people shouldnt have been happy or cheered the death of someone like Hitler, who used propaganda, violence and fear to convince people that the murder of innocent people is right in the name of a greater cause. Hmmm... where does that sound familiar? Oh wait.... Al-Qaeda in a nutshell anyone?
@nihalmessages you have no idea what you're talking about. This brought me so much pride to not only be a penn state student, but an american. No, his death doesn't mean the end of anything. But the international face of terrorism was defeated by the endless perseverance of the American troops. America wasn't celebrating the death of someone we don't know. We celebrated the death of a man who was responsible for one of the darkest days in American history. Jackass.
This makes me feel bad that I was a penn state student, when I was in beaver, the students felt disgusted when they saw the news cheering for osamas death, and America has really gained absolutely nothing by killing a man rather than stopping terrorism. No wonder so many nations hate the United States, we actually celebrate a death of another person, a person we don't even know.
Watch this video please and especially listen at 3 minutes 52 seconds onwards. Very shocking and I am sure you will question your own thoughts after watching it.

So bittersweet, I was living there on 9/11 how fast the years have gone bye. I'm so glad to see this after remembering so many crying on there way back from class on 9/11/11 .
Well, the thought is there, though the irony of them singing a song bashing America's foreign policy to celebrate an American military raid I'm sure is lost on them.
@was385 The song doesn't bash American foreign policy. But the irony of you thinking your superior to other people of another country is i'm sure lost on you.
@lostalex77 The song about going off to kill the yellow man, do you know what happened at Khe Sanh? There are certainly other themes in this song like the treatment of soldiers after they returned home but this is certainly a song bashing vietnam as well. And how am I thinking I'm superior to other people of another country?
this is very sad
