This is truly troubling. Why would anyone take a big beautiful dog, & teach it to head-tilt like a fag dog??? Save the head-tilts for the girly dogs. They've no place in training a real dog like a Newfie. This is poor parenting...
@neomuttley I doubt she trained it to do that. I've never seen a dog be trained to do that. My dogs do it all the time when you say something in a questioning voice. "Max, you want a treat?" *head tilt* "Wanna go outside?" *head tilt* Dogs just do that naturally.
Dunno... Dogs are great at reading their owners. When owners instantly respond w/"OH! How cute!" When they head tilt. I think the dogs quickly learn that this is a "Pleasing" pose for them to make. A natural dog is a Wolf. Do Wolves head tilt in the wild? I doubt it.

I'll assume you are not a bonafide 'hater' and attempt to educate you on the origins of use of 'fag' with regard to homosexuals. Long, long ago when our predecessors burned 'witches'; they would start there fires using kindling just as we do today. In those times, the smaller pieces of kindling were called faggots. (cont. in next post)

@yocorro90 , I have a newfie myself.......... he's much slimmer than yours and in perfect condition according to my vet and the red rosettes he's won will confirm that................. if you love your dog as much as you claim, get it on a diet!!!!!!!!!!!!

You don't know that dogs love to repeat whatever gets a rise out of their owners? They want to please us. If a stupid owner reinforces that this is cute behavior? They're gonna do it again & again. @occupier123 We had a siberian husky that while not nearly this big looked huge with all that fur. We'd shave her in the summer to help her stay cooler. She was just a skinny little lady under all that fine dress. Lol. I imagine your dog is still rather large but it's always funny just how small they are when they have all the fur shaved down.

Once we took our Newf to the vet where he was weighed right before we took him for his 'summer haircut' - we had to go back to the vet's a few days later and he had lost 13 pounds of hair!!! Can you imagine how much volume of hair it takes to get 13 pounds worth! The ONLY way for a (non-veterinary) person to judge whether a Newf is over or under-weight is to feel his ribs.
@kkfemale he's a newfoundlander they're one of the largest breeds you can get, one of these fellas even being a wee bit overweight might make em appear far fatter to someone who hasnt seen em often. the visual is a bit off on this but he seems pretty good.
No, the dog is NOT overweight. Newfoundlands are huge dogs with lots of thick hair. My parents have owned 5 Newfies, and their best friends are Newfie breeders so I know what I'm talking about..

This is great - good job (I think your camera is just fine - this is YouTube). I have Newfies - and they all do this - it's a riot - capturing it on film so naturally is another feat with these big guys - I usually get smothered with kisses about halfway through taping! Thanks for posting!

Oh brother... You taught your dog to do the dreaded head-tilt?! A Newfie is a real dog. Not some ridiculous, cutesie-poo lap dog. A Newfie doesn't need such tactics to overcome being a cat w/a deep voice. Newfies simply ARE lovable. Next dog, please don't make the same mistake. Might want to invest <$200 in a decent camera while you're @it...
