  • i'm usually not a hater, but where's the style man?! where's the power?! he looks like a wet noodle. there's no strength in the move and that ginga is janky. sorry

  • ppl stop learning from these crappy videos... this guy is not a very good capoeirista. Go out there and learn from a real master who has actual style and skill.

  • Actually there's a little difference between s dobrado and chapeu de couro. It's HOW you turn the hips / low body in the air. It's quite subtle.

By the way... at the end, he does a kick without the s dobrado, it's another movement, a chibata.

  • the one i know is angola palmares it sets up like this but the negativa foot lands last, that is, you kick over with the plant foot. its a killer kick.

  • For my group thats a chapeu de couro... and it IS a kick. Its a kick to the body from the floor. And might be to the face if you rise your foot rly high.

I havent trained S dobrado yet... but as far as i know its more of an acrobatic technique than attack... so this isnt it.

  • i think you'r confusing it's sdobrado

  • different groups use different names for the same movements. Sometimes it is a little confusing, but it is as it is.

  • no! s dobrado is attack technique not acrobatic... its s dobrado! idiot!

  • saroba

  • This is an S Dobrado thats not a cartweel at the second part right?

  • This is not an Sdobrado!! S-Dobrado is macaco with a kick from the starting.

  • @capoeira2brazil In Cordão de Ouro, we call S-Batido when the Chapéu-de-Couro is lifted completely from the floor. If you do it without getting out of the floor, then it is a Chapéu-de-Couro, wich does not let you jump, but giver a very "miudinho" hit, I mean, it's smaller, precise, and has its own beauty. If you do with macaco, then its a S-dobrado.

  • @dimasgomez Really, watching the video again, he is doing S-Batido with the range of a Chapéu-de-Couro. That is to say, it's all wrong. LOL If you do a S-Batido, you should move forward. If you do a Chapéu-de-Couro, then you should not show off so much, and do it small. I'm not a teacher, but that's obvious. A Chapéu-de-Couro is an "angola" move, an old move, something you do with respect for angola masters, something more "malandro" and "mandingado". Something for cheer old times.

  • Isn't this a martelo de chao?

  • Same shit, different name

  • Rofl Capoeirsta81, top notch. Loved the way you said that.

  • go on in this way. you are great!!

  • axé capoeira
