what you can do is talk text. and use the internet as long as you either have a wireless signal you can connect to. every thing works such as i tunes, the app store, etc. mines is even jail broken..cydia works everything works long as you have a wifi signal.

what you can't do is update to the latest software..i was told updating will delete the flash..if the flash is deleted you will have to get the phone reflashed.

not fake or illegal by any means. cdma carriers use files called PRLs to tell phones what towers to connect to. if you flash a metropcs PRL to any verizon/sprint phone, it will connect to metro's network. you must get the ESN of that phone also added to metro's database, a service that can be done for very cheap by anyone with houdini software. it's not illegal.

FYI Flashing an iphone 4 on verizon requires the data from a DIFFERENT phone, and this is HIGHLY ILLIEGAL... You can do it, however you violate several laws in switching it over. The network needs to think your iphone 4 is an existing phone metroPCS will recognize as part of their network.

It seems like if its a hardware limitation, youll never be able to do internet or mms without a type of 3g or 2g, or whatever 1x is. I would say put the settings that you would a metro blackberry, and try that. Butr you will need a 2g, 3g, or whatever 1x is considered, like wise with att mobile on tmobile.

Can you guys try to do this with sprint or other carrier beside metro? also if this can help to all of you, you can download CDMA workshop, QSPT a sprint sanyo ingconito donor phone and iphone driver and incognito driver and clone the incognito to the iphone so that way when you guys have to get your phone provisioning on sprint or boost or virgin, cricket the can see the ESN of the ingconito on the iphone. and them change your PRL with QSPT to get comunicate with the towers.
