America was not "founded" upon religion as you say. Sure the people that first came to America was for religion reasons but when rights and the like were put in place, religion was probably not the biggest thing on their mind. I know this idea is far less supported than gay marriage, but I believe two consenting -ADULTS- , regardless of gender or familial relation, should be allowed to marry. Of course, this would prove troublesome for two siblings trying to have children, because of the potential of birth defects. Laws would need to be in place to control child conception between siblings.

America was not "founded" upon religion as you say. Sure the people that first came to America was for religion reasons but when rights and the like were put in place, religion was probably not the biggest thing on their mind. The founding fathers were pompous rich men who only put in rights that would apply to them. That's why there were no rights for women or African Americans or for men who didn't have land. The entire original constitution was based on inequality in the first place.

Of course, this would prove troublesome for two siblings trying to have children, because of the potential of birth defects. the fact is that trauma, hardship, and serious emotional stress drive straight, bi, and gay people to these ends equally. (with the exception of the HIV/AIDS subject). Gay people aren't any more likely to let these factors push them over the edge than straight people but there is a massively larger % of gay people being subjected to these strains in the first place. Again, bushsupporter, all ur argument shows is that homophobia is having a detrimental effect on society as a whole.

People are clinging to invalid reasons to vote against something that won't even effect them. well i really should say vote for, but you got my point. I am pretty sure that i am at least bi, and i am not even effected by prop8 but it still just gets me that people can be so oblivious and selfish, and in this day and age no less. i hope that one day you can find your happiness, and that people get some sense knocked into them.
