I'm with most other people when I say that I was sad to see Chris and Andols leave. I'm actually kinda dumbfounded to listen to Chimaira without those two. But as much as it sucks they're gone, from what I've heard of this new album Chimaira is still amazing and is still on the top 5 of my Favorite Metal Bands list

Most [Chimaira] fans keep whining that [Chimaira] keeps changing with every new album. They say this is a bad thing. Think of [Chimaira] as a book. Every new album is a new chapter. If EVERY chapter sounded exactly like chapter 1 or 2, wouldn't it be a boring book? The way it is now, if you like a certain chapter, just go back and listen to it. Enjoy the evolution that is Chimaira!

@SetsunaCjM Emmure is slightly better at writing that type of music, in my opinion at least. I love this band, iv seen them live, but Emmure just does a better job at writing that type of music. Look up "Sunday Bacon" or "The Key to Keeping the Show Fresh is Im Dead"

When I heard that Chris and Andols (one of the BEST drummers of the last decade+) left I was dumbfounded. I thought it was the end of my favorite metal bad and I was sad. Then I heard the music. It didnt occur that HEY Mark, Matt and Rob r still there to write music, DUH...In my humble and honest opinion there is NO ONE in metal today who can write more punch-you-in-the-throat-and-la­ugh-while-you-cry-on-the-floor music than Chimaira. No one is harder; NO ONE. I DARE YOU TO NAME ANYONE!!!

Personally I think that without Andols the band isn't the same or as great and I love the fact that even though roadrunner was kicking the shit outta them they were able to produce such badass music but when they signed with Nuclear Blast all hell broke loose they were able to do what they wanted. That's why The Infection was so badass no worries just make music

Chimaira is the shit, I've been listening to them since 04' just before their self titled and loved every album before that and after. IMO the infection is a fucking solid album and it rapes. Heart Of It All has some of the most amazing guitar and drum work I've ever heard. Chimaira still remains one of my fav bands EVER.

@traderfreak I was hesitant b/c I saw the official video Year of the Snake and that to me was their weakest song. I think their self-titled and Resurrection was their strongest albums, those had a lot of aggression and feeling in each song. I was also hesitant with the departure of three of their original members, Andols being one of my favorite drummers, was really disappointed in him leaving... again haha but I'll have a few more goes with these samples before I make my decision.
